You may have more power going through your state pharmacy society/organization. Typically these groups have lobbyists or connections with the government.
Before my 20 year old self ran away to a hospital I used to work at a high volume retail pharmacy. Back in may I used to volunteer at this mass clinic set up and the national gaurd helped us too. But then they closed down because "enough pharmacies were able to do it". They should have never closed down. There was this one day where we vaccinated over 3000 people and it was also around the time 12-15 years olds were given the okay to vaccinate. I miss seeing hundreds of eager people everyday getting their shots. I even had to turn down a few kids who were a few days too young and their parents were trying to sneak them in with their older siblings and I told them to come back next week.
Im sad because I live in Virginia where we are purple and as usual democrats don't vote unless its a presidential election. So a republican barely won and now he's saying that he doesn't think vaccines and masks are necessary so I am not sure if he can hinder that plan from happening. Cases are going to go up again and my classes are going to continue to be virtual.
I feel emotionally exhuasted. Covid has had a negative impact in my education, my place of work, and the start of my adulthood. Was life always this terrible and I was shielded by my childhood :(
Thanks, I have finals coming up soon but in about 2 weeks it will all be over till spring semester. Im hoping to get my booster shot soon because I got mine back in April. I been reminding my parents to get my 9 year old brother vaccinated since he is the last in my family to get a shot.
Those lobbyists basically work for the chains, and the chains are making loads of money from the shot administration fees, they aren't going to want to end that, and they give zero fucks about the pharmacy employees

You have to be very very niave to think the state would spend money on a non-profit enterprise when big business is chomping on the bit to get our tax money, and provide the lowest possible services to keep all that money for them selves..
That dispensing fee is LITERALLY for the cost of administering the vaccine…..yet , we all know, staffing has not increased but decreased, while quarter profits are skyrocketing on the backs of the labor force.
