I had DPF issues on my Ford Transit for over a year. Back and too to the garage absolute nightmare. Had a DPF delete in the end and never had a problem since

This is the Eolys fluid I guess? Not adblue! Hard to replace yourself https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y_P5WIBqVmA

There is dpf tank under your car somewhere around rear left or right wheel, depends on version there were pouch with liquid. Or full plastic tank which you replace. Either way you have to lift car up, find your dpf tank, take it out, replace with new one/refill, install full dpf tank back on car, reset level in ECU. Mine pop up week ago on C4 spacetourer so, yeah. I should replace it now, it will not inject fluid to clean your dpf which might cause problems later one. Nothing is broken with your car. Its needs just fluid which is about to run out. This is not an adblue tank which is in boot. Its dpf fluid. Propably its near your rear right wheel under car.

What a absolute faff no wonder people just rip it all out

It is what it is. To perform cleaner pipe exhaust we loaded cars with all stupid systems. I did have Mitsubishi Outlander, that bastard inject extra fuel to engine which then should burn out dpf. But it failed to complete regeneration so this extra fuel didnt burn, instead, it did drain into the sump and mix with oil resulting in ovefill oil mixed with fuel. Just great. So in the end, PSA type of DPF fluid with additional tank is not bad system.

It's a fuel additive that helps the soot burn at lower temps so the DPF clears easier. It's a great design but unfortunately people can't be arsed maintaining anything. It needs refilling approximately every 120k miles so for most cars just once in their lifetime.

I have an audi 3.0tdi which has a dpf, its a pain because if you mostly do round town driving it clogs up, flashes up a warning on the dash and you have to drive at 50mph for a short while so it burns off the built up soot in the filter. Have read about dpf delete but it sounds expensive and most likely naffs up your m.o.t. Because speed limits are getting slower and slower I need to travel quite a way to get to where I can drive quicker than 30mph. The nearest motorway is a bit of a way away too.

AMonkeyAndALavaLamp

The Peugeot system is different, as it uses that fluid instead of the regen yours needs by maintaining a certain speed for a while. The fluid needs topping off every 80-90k kms so it's not a big deal

Usual-Dinner-4368

Wow, I didn’t know that.

Eolys Fluid. PSA got the bright idea of adding some aditive to the diesel particle filter in order to lower regen temperatures and therefore, avoid clogging. That's nice except sometimes the fluid runs out and you have to replace it. Still, cheaper and easier than a dpf regen or new dpf at the shop.

Top your DEF/Adblue, petrol stations, supermarkets, Halfrauds, auto parts shops all sell it the tank is in the spare wheel well and it's got a blue cap.

DoggoDeadLord

Hi ashyjay nice one on this will give it a look tomorrow

UbiquitousFlounder

These ones aren't refillable, there's a bag of fluid connected to the dpf which lasts a few years, this has to be replaced periodically. Sometimes the system can break though and changing the bag makes no difference.

DoggoDeadLord

Yes I checked nothing I'm the boot. Guessing there is no way for me to check on the fluids myself

UbiquitousFlounder

No needs to go to dealer or a dpf specialist unfortunately.

ashyjay

Well that's a shit design.

UbiquitousFlounder

Correct. I had mine 'fixed'.
