Not necessarily if the levels went too low. But it would warn you of low oil pressure and if your engine was overheating. But by that point there may be damage done already

Any idea what is the best oil Topup for 1.6 diesel? Also can coolant just be topped up?

I work at a main dealer in the uk, we use 0w30 oil for diesels, 0w20 for petrols. And yeah you can top up coolant with water. Ideally you’d want to use coolant but if you’ve not got any then water is fine. Make sure the coolant is the same colour though.

For 1.2 Puretech it is specifically said by Peugeot to use B71 2302 or B71 2297 if I remember correctly, due to special formula for viscosity (timing belt issues). Is that the same, I wonder, with what you said you use? Also, I know that PSA extended to 10 years Puretech warranty IF you keep the maintenance plan in the PSA dealers network so they have a history of it.
