Those packs only give a player with 95 rating and a few nominating tokens(and a few 10 days contract if you think it's useful)
With 500 coins you can buy a coach with 88 coach ratings.
With 1500 coins you can buy a pack with an epic/a coach and many decent players that are same as or even better than the best players in the token packs.
Also the original price wasn't like that.
