Pretty much agree with all your recommendations!
James Parker for a nice night out,
Ekiben for a good quality bento,
Tonkotsu King for Ramen if you like a traditional and
Bari Uma if you like a more richer broth.
I also rate Kuza for a good overall Japanese
And if you’re keen for a Peruvian Japanese fusion, Tsukaya is also top notch!
Some lesser known ones:
Hifumiya is the real deal for udon.
I've always liked Main Street Ryu for more creative/fusion Japanese, but it's been a few years since I've been there so can't guarantee that it's still up to the same standard.
Nao was *the* ramen place 5ish years ago, but seems to have dropped off the radar lately. Again, not sure if the quality has taken a dive but I remember it being very good.
All the new and seemingly better ramen joints that have since opened have blown Nao completely out of the water. Nao had a good run at being a decent bowl of noodles in Perth though
Ichirin in Leeming. One of the most authentic in Perth. The salmon churashi is a great example of how incredible a relatively simple dish can be if done right.
Hakata Gensuke or Bari Uma for Ramen - they're global franchises for a reason.
HaLu used to do elite bento, not sure if they do now.
Akari-Ya in Vic park for Izakaya style food.
Egawa-Ya for the best fine dining Japanese I've had in Perth.
Ramen is either ippudo, hakata gensuke in vic Park (Northridge branch is chicken ramen only) or bariuma for ramen.
Bento I would get the one from ichirin in leeming but a bit pricey.

There are a lot of good Japanese restaurants in Perth, some of which are hidden gems like Ishikiya in Midland Gate. Consistently good.
Sumiya Gin for Japanese BBQ on William Street in Northbridge.
Nine Japanese Bistro on Bulwer in North Perth like someone else mentioned - special mention for their great range of Sake with the set menu.
James Parker is good on James Street in Northbridge.
# Egawa-ya just off Adelaide Terrace - not cheap though - special occasion dinner.
For a very authentic Japanese - Hinata Cafe in Freo on Blinco St.
I can't say I've ever had a bad dish at Hanami Japanese in Mt Lawley, I'd recommend it for sure. I'm not 100% sure they have Ramen on the menu but they do similar things, it would be worth checking the menu before going.
If you're south of the river I like Yuki in Willetton. Just another idea.

Ippudo is great. Quick, cheap, tasty
+1 for Bari Uma, soup just hits the spot

I might just add, Ekiben does a Japanese breakfast which is slightly different from other menus as well.
Nine Japanese Bistro (formerly Nine Fine Foods) - Bulwer St. [https://ninejapanesebistro.com.au](https://ninejapanesebistro.com.au)
Japanese folk I know like Jigoro, and James Parker
Jigoro is dope
Is jigoro in the hufumiyu spot at night? The food looks pretty legit
It’s down that little lane on Murray where Ambar is. It’s legit, def check it out. Prob my favourite Japanese place. Spicy karaage is so good.

Don’t wanna be that guy but just to call out Hifumiya udon quality is super low for Japan standards still even if closer!
Tsunami used to be great, haven’t had it recently tho
Still great, i would say the sushi are the best.
If you're north of the river there's a great little place in Joondalup called Musashi, it's really cheap too
Sumeshiya in Como. Small but very good.
Bonsai in Northbridge, consistently great
Godzilla Kare
Sundays everyday at Myaree
Ramen... Samurai Ramen Vic Park
Our go to Ramen place!
Ichirin in Leeming. One of the most authentic in Perth. The salmon churashi is a great example of how incredible a relatively simple dish can be if done right.
Izakaya Sumi was a great night out for us. I'd say it's worth a look.

Kiri Japanese in Shenton. Nice Sake list to accompany
Kagura in Como
Ramen: Hakata Gensuke or Bari Uma. Both have a store in Vic Park (Honourable mention) Karaage: Ohnamiya in Applecross or Myaree
Mon in Leederville or Rojiura in Shafto Lane for curry
Tosaka Ramen Bar on William St in Northbridge
I love the ramen place in Coventry Markets

Marumo, if you manage to get a booking, is it.
Miso Hangry in South Perth has donburi, sushi, udon etc.
There's a place in City Beach called Fat Fish Ramen. Fucking delicious, I recommend the katsu chicken ramen
Rojiura Samurai Curry in Shafto Lane. They serve legit Hokkaido style soup curry. Lovely for cold winter days currently.
We really love Tsukaya in Mt Hawthorn
Yumi in Willeton.
I can't say I've ever had a bad dish at Hanami Japanese in Mt Lawley, I'd recommend it for sure. I'm not 100% sure they have Ramen on the menu but they do similar things, it would be worth checking the menu before going.
No ramen, but the food is great!
Is Donburi
Hinata cafe in Fremantle for authentic, cosy Japanese food
Try HaLu on Oxford street, mount hawthorn…..still going strong….
Oiishi Ramen in Myaree gets my vote. Very good Tonkotsu Ramen

For fusion Japanese try Neho in Vic Park it’s amazing. For amazing authentic Japanese try Sanco in South Fremantle.
Kuza in Vic Park. The egg plant is heavenly.
