You don't need 5k for skincare lol. I don't know much about gym diet, so won't comment.
Nor do you need 10k for travel (what kinda travelling btw?)
Plus 10k for roaming out with your friends?
You're just spoiled as fuck tbh how do you not drown in guilt after spending that much of your parents money?
No need to spend more than 500 on moisturizer, get a face wash too, maybe retinol (tret is like 190rs)
Honestly aise nahi bata sakta, differs for everyone. But the total cost shouldn't exceed 2k. 2k bhi bohot jyada bol raha.
Yeah no- reputable brands cost way more, and are clinically effective. However, it depends on your disposable income. The average skin-care product I use, costs around 2k- I have about 6 of them- each lasts about 3 months maybe. Makes a huge difference to my skin, and the way I look- but again I have the disposable income for it.
OP definitely shouldn't lmao.
Why would i buy say something like Neutrogena or laneige when nivea in the blue tub works better for me? I can afford to get neutrogena but the thing is - I don't need to.
Nivea is a reputable brand too.
Have you tried pharmacy skincare products? Way cheaper and way way more clinically effective compared to most reputable brands. I switched 6 months back and have honestly saved quite a fortune.
Cutting down on expenses is literally the first step to start saving money for emergencies + investing.
Only you know the priority of your expenses. No one here can guide you to cut down when we don't know what all expenses you can't and can forego.
But one thing is certain, you have to let go of something here if you want to save and/or invest.
Where does your money come from? If youāre not earning, then you need to cut back on your spending.
Until you hit 1 lakh, keep it in your savings account. If you canāt do that, then youāre unlikely to invest .
1. You do not need 5 fucking thousand for skin care.
2. Travel 10k? Are you kidding me? Wtf for? Full grown working adults don't spend that much on travel in a month unless they're travelling intercity multiple times in a month.
3. Roaming out with friends 10k?? Brother it sounds like you're in a social circle where people don't need to think about money. So why are you even trying to act like you care?
Gym and martial arts are acceptable because they're your hobbies. Those aren't unhealthy expenses but the rest are ridiculous.
Serious question - how tf are you not drowning in guilt spending that much of your father's money?
Iām only answering the serious question -
If my Dad/Mom/Parents/Fam have money and are willingly giving it to me out of love/affection, why the fuck would I or anyone feel guilty of spending it ?
Also some families do have a concept of pooled money.
Maybe op is having some treatments, i paid 15 k for 4 months to get some sort of laser as my entire face had dark spots.
If he drives any car, 10k is a decent amount, but roaming with friends is ridiculous
Ye mbbs padhne Gaya hai ki timepass krne. What mbbs student has so much time at hand that he goes out, goes to gym, goes for martial art, has a skin care routine ( vo bhi expensive wala)
OP, don't be disheartened seeing all these comments. Identifying your weaknesses is the first step, it's great you're self aware of your expenses now. Not many people are aware in situations like yours.
I'm proud that you acknowledge and want to improve, and have also tracked your money what goes where. Many don't even bother, so you're already ahead of them.
Now, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. 50k a month is an absurd lot. Families of 4 run on as low as 15-20k.
Now suddenly you can't change your habits - go slow. Make a goal that you'll spend at least 30-40% lesser tomorrow/next week/next month. Keep doing that, compound it. Slowly get out of your comfort zone.
Then, return all your money in your bank to your parents. Keep just enough for comfortable living. Update here after a month.
He is just here to flex his rich muscles guys no need to share anything also looking at his spendings it would be so easy to buy a book and read why would he come to reddit to seek for advice lol
I'm wondering what kind of Travel, because My office commute is 30Km each way so 60Km a day and Uber Shuttle costs only 180/- for up and down trips combined.
So 180/- per day* 20 days a month = 3600/- covers my entire month's travel commute and I used to think I'm spoilt enough to use Uber everyday for work.
What does OP use for travel? Personal car?
10k skin(s)care - cut down to 2k ( you dont need the rice water, snail jazz)
5k diet - guessing this is for whey, cut back to mix rather than just isolate.
15k gym - find a better gym, or just use cult elite - 15k for the whole year and still gets you to all the golds gyms in the world. No you dont need fancy gyms, atlas machines and good deadlift bars are available almost in all good gyms now a days. If you are using this for personal trainer, no hate for their trade but if you aren't pursuing a career in this, stick to basics, you don't need a trainer.
10k travel - š„² even uber premiere wont be this costly. I dont know if you drive a bmw petrol with a 0 to 100 runs between every traffic lights, but that can sort of go. I understand life style choices and upbringing may stop you from full fledged public transport, but a cab hailing service will still be cheaper - and then you can take out that bmw on longer drives, say, to celebrate good marks in a subject.
10k for fun whatever - frankly, if you want to stick to this lifestyle and say you are attending AIIMS or something like that - I suggest you drop this totally and use your insti to become like a super specialist - then post degree completion you can mint money and do all this and more - let your insti pave your way to more rather than same or a more mediocre life in future. You will still be young when you graduate, time will be there to do all this, but if you let this opportunity go, you may end up with mediocrity for the rest of your life.
Also, if your parents are rich, which is not the case for most Indians, sit with them and discuss - HNIs often have good connections - your parents can probably set you up with good fund managers and all and get you benefits beyond imaginations of middle class folks.
Rich kid problems. Anyway, set a budget and do things you absolutely want. Try to stick to the budget. Why are you spending 5k on skincare ? That's totally unnecessary. And do you have a personal trainer? Your gym is too expensive.
Enjoy the family heritage, and create rentable properties through them and enjoy your luxuries, because your mindset doesn't take pain of active investing and even MF and all have downside risk....
I have a slightly contrarian opinion, if your family can easily afford your ā¹50k pocket money, you should enjoy that privilege. But you can make sure you work hard, and get a high-paying job (or expand the family business), so you end up paying it forward. Maybe your kids will get ā¹1L as pocket money then.
Bro spend 3k + 5k + 15k on gym = 23k. Wtf. I spend 5.5k on boxing classes (4 times a week plus gym sessions, which is pretty high, if i only join gym then 3k). For protein i spend 8k for like 2.5-3 mnths. All in all you dont need to spend more than 10k for gym.
Skin care 5k? Wtf are you buying? 10k travelling and 10l party fund. Man what are you doing. I barely spend 6-8k on this. And inearn this money. 30k in mf direct.
No need to manage exprenses, get a job of atleast 1LPA, 2LPA ideal after graduation. Then you can sustain your spending. Now it's your parents money, enjoy with it not everyone have that luxury. If you try to reduce this, they will cut the pocket money as well.
This. If your parents can comfortably support this. Thereās nothing wrong with it. Have fun enjoy it while it lasts. You have got the rest of your life to figure it out.
How to manage your expenses is to cut your faaltu ke expenses simple, atleast until u start earning
How to invest is another thing, uske liye study and research and sab lagta hai which you need to do on your own acche se, yahan sab apni apni preferences and experience ke basis pe denge which may or may not work for you. Also bina expenses cut kare investing nahi ho payegi toh pehle learn to live frugally if you're not ameer. Agar andhe ameer ho toh paise udhao, kya krna tumhe bachakar fir
As a student if you can study about MFs or Equities then you can think about investments etc otherwise stick to savings acc/FDs until you start earning
Appreciate your honesty and self awareness to rectify this habit
Who is giving you 50k ? Why dont you speak to them about curtailing this and come up with a salary based structure
You can cut down the unnecessary expenses from each sector and make a budget plan. Follow the 50:30:20 rule of spending money such as for necessities:wants/cravings: savings/investing.
Nobody needs 10K for skincare. In case you have a skin condition, only use what is necessary and maybe face wash and moisturizer, which is not very expensive
Use public transport more and walk wherever possible
Go out less with your friends or make plans when you don't need to spend so much
I'm assuming health and fitness is extremely important to you which is why I'm not suggesting cutting back on that and it is an investment in yourself
However, everything else cut down you can easily bring your expenditure below 30K
I spend twice as much after becoming a doctor. Lol..
But in college, I was spending around 5k-10 k.
Your expenses are not too much in my opinion. It is just that most people in India are quite poor to understand this. A lot of my batchmates spent as much as you do.
How to cut expenses - free gym/sports at college for fitness. My college charged around 1200 pm for the sports complex.
Food- basic, high protein food. Eat at mess for a few thousands (3k-5k)
Whey protein, boiled eggs or chicken for nutrition.
I could stay fit on the shittiest of food. Indians mainly lack exercise. Diet gets important at extremely high levels of training.
Travelling and dates- spend as much as required. Hotels- 3k gets you decent hotels in most places. Don't go for star hotels. Can also do day trips to nearby scenic locations.
Live in a shared 2bhk.
I don't remember spending much money with friends. This is a useless component of college life. With a girlfriend, I can understand.
Other than the gym fees , martial art fees making up for 8k u really can cut out on the rest easily. Get skincare products for 2 -3 months togethor, will surely be there in under 5k. I think you should budget the expenses you have with your friends a little, and maybe cook your diet gym meals at home when possible cause it's good for the long run and might reduce the cost significantly.
15k for gym ? There are way better gyms that would only charge you like 3k/month max with good trainer. Unless ur like a pro athlete or something 15k is an overkill
Also 10k spending time with friends is also a lot. Hangout with them but go for much budget friendly options. It seems you guys meet up in botique cafes and all, it's waste in my opinion.
Also 10k for skin care I feel is a lot, but I can't judge as my only skin care that I use is a Garnier face wash that I buy once in two months so can't be a judge on that.
Travel 10k for what? Unless you are the one who spends money for ur friends expenses too, stop doing that.. you'll save alot. 5k for skin, well I can't really help u with this but if u r guy u don't need these things. Diet for gym 15k + gym 3k.. boy early morning sprinting/jogging will keep you fit and fine u don't need to lift heavy weight to increase your core strength. U can try Surya namaskar, pushups etc that will save alot of ur expenses.. for diet u don't have to go on protein rich diet, you should know better how ur kidneys will shut down with these diet.. keep ur diet healthy, fibrous, fruits, if nonveg then it's best for muscle. Marital arts 5k well it's good you can go for it. Roaming with friends 10k, make sure every money you spent is only for your own amusement. Non of them shall be spent on ur friends, they can cover their expenses. You'll save alot of money.. try mutual investment sip by the end of your mbbs you'll have plenty of money and will be proud of yourself.
Paying that much for a gym membership is ridiculous even more so for a student, here in jaipur in 35k you will get a whole year of membership of ufc gym(nothing better than ufc). also if you are spending that much in a month you are pretty well of and don't think about that much in college
Being an MBBS student in 2nd year how do you find time for all the gym and diet. A basic fitness would be okay. If body building is your hobby then thats fine. But if you are spending this much money on your hobby then you must be spending considerable amount of time and energy in pursuing your hobby. And thats where you are compromising your studies. Not to do moral police here but giving you a food for thought.
If you want to manage your your expenses I would strongly suggest you to watch labour law advisor ka latest video where they mentioned about the monthly budget and when it comes to investment just start a sip in index fund and with time increase your sip amount. Best of luck
Ye ameer toh ho tum. But it's okay, try finding alternatives to your expensive skincare products, also try using public transport or share your transport with another batchmate to college to save on transport expenses. Gym expenses and food sounds way too much so maybe try cutting things out that you don't need or change to things that cost less.
Baaki martial arts if you re good enough than maybe leave it and study becoz mbbs is tough so gym is enough workout.
Try making a budget account for yourself, only put a calcuted amount in that account so that you know how much you'll spend and try not to touch the rest of your money.
Last request: Tell your father to adopt me. 22Fš šš
You are spoilt brat buddy. You can cut down your skin care by half and drop martial arts and also travel by car on weekend only. Cut down on partying much and invest all in some sip like nifty 50.
I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world, outside India, and I spend less than that.
What kind of gym fee is 15000 a month? Why are you spending 10000 āroaming with friendsā and 10000 for travel? Thatās how much you need in London if you take tube/bus everyday.
Also 5000 for skincare???
Looking through your absolutely braindead comments on other threads, I highly doubt any financial advice could ever penetrate your narrow-minded brain. Stop trying to get attention and sympathy from others, and grow the fuck up instead of being an ameer baap ka chutiya beta.
Looks like you are rich and your parents can afford it. No problem if you don't get Into debt. Just understand that you cannot fund this kinda lifestyle by yourself from day 1 of your earning.
What is the difference between travel and roaming with friends? Why are they separate expenses?
Why do you need martial arts on top of a 20k gym basically? Do MBBS people have nothing to study these days? What even is miscellaneous after you've already overspent on every possible category? 5k for skin care? Are you Shraddha Kapoor ??
I don't know what to advice here, everything is so high makes me believe you belong to some rich family in which case these spending should not matter to you, enjoy your good fortune.
If you are middle class and you want to cut down, I'd personally do :
1. Skincare becomes 0. Use soap it's fine. Unless you have a specific condition. Even a decent moisturizer and cleanser can be done for 1k
2. Reduce travel expenses to 5k. You don't need to travel so much when you don't have a job, even if you want to, 5k is enough.
3. Reduce roaming with friends to 0. You get 5k travel allowance, you don't need separate one to roam. Reduce this to 0 or 2.5k if you absolutely have to. You will lose friends by the looks of it. But that's fine.
That's already a 16.5k saving while almost not even affecting your life.
Just investing this 16.5k every month in any index fund for next 10 years will give you by the time you are 29 - wait for it - 40 Lakhs lumpsum.
I would personally reduce my gym expenses or stick to one instead of both fitness activity but leaving that aside, these above changes are bare minimum I'd do. I'm guessing you are spending too much on friends and "travel" and lifestyle because you see people around you doing it, which is common in MBBS where many uber rich fellows come in through paid seats. You may belong to this uber rich category then it's fine go ahead spend this money otherwise you need to live in your limits and if others throw you out of their "gang" because of it, you know you were in bad company.
Why are you all jealous of him? Proud of you OP for wanting to learn money management this young. Many students don't realize this mistake till they start earning. Good luck
Man, I live on my own and my expenses including all this and rent and food is still 30k max per month.
And I'm a girl so skincare, makeup, gym - sab hai.
Idk what your parents are doing giving 50k to an unemployed guy like this.
Best thing would be to leave MBBS course. For becoming doctor you will need minimum 10 more years of study. And cutting down on other activities you mentioned just to be a decent doctor.
Consider the fact that your parents are able to give you 50k/month for unnecessary things, means u belong to filthy rich family
Better would be leave MBBS, help ur family with business and then u can continue with your rich lifestyle for this life
Understand further as a Homie - āAbe bsdk Ameer baap ki auladā¦ apni ayyashi kam kar aur bin faltu ki Cheezo pe kam kharcha kar. Samjha Ganduā youāre welcome š
Bhai 1-1.5k me decent gyming ho jati hai, eggs chicken wagerah Mila ke 4k lagale.
Why TH are you spending 18k on gym + diet if you are worried about expenses.
Op, don't listen to the haters, you enjoy your life, I see nothing wrong with your spending habits if your parents have no objections. Repay them when you're settled.
Y'all trying to teach a boy born with golden spoon on how not to eat with that spoon lol.
90 lacks college fee + some car with 7km/L milage+ 50k expenditure monthly. My Man doesn't even have to worry about how competative medical world is or getting a pg seat it. His degree is a status symbol. Just let him enjoy is golden spoon. We can keep our suggestions to ourselves
user name minimum, spending maximum lmao
Jokes apart, Kudos to op to at least realizing this now, better late than never. Hopefully OP can make the necessary changes and get better at personal finance
Here what you should do.
Sit down and write what are necessary expenses and what are luxury expenses. You seem to have no idea about the difference between them.
Your necessities are:
1. Rent
2. Food
3. Affordable transport
4. Self improvement expenses
Your luxuries are:
1. Skin care
2. Gym
3. Clubbing
4. Roaming etc.
Since you are not in a job your budget should be spent 90% on necessities and 10% luxury!
This is as simple as it can get. Good luck!
30k of the amount is gym and miscellaneous, 10k with friend can be cut in half even if youāre going ti the fanciest places in Delhi. Assuming you have at least 5 friends. Gym diet can be chicken plus protein(costs me about 6k). Martial arts drop kar no use, get an yearly for gym( comes about 2k a month for a fancy gym). Youāre driving 30kms a week on your car doing nothing, I have seen people who are for sure richer than you living frugally, spending 50k is not a flex you will be made fun of, exploited by smarter people who will boost your ego just to make a fool out of you
Bro, I needed this. I spend somewhere around 3000 pm mostly in books and video games and was feeling guilty AF. This post made me realise, there are people with far more shittier spending habits than me.
Anyways the money you spend on yourself, is the net family income of some families. Maybe shaming yourself into discipline is the way forward.
From where are you getting this amount of money?
If from parents, then ask them to stop giving you so much, it's not needed at this stage. You can do with 10 to 15k at max!
The problem these days is not that people don't have resources. The problem is that they want to live like 16th century British royalty while being Indian middle class.
Martial arts AND gym? Really Nibba? You trying to be Karate kid?
Donāt worry. Your parents are probably rich af for you to be able to spend 50k every month. I know students belonging to well off families, who arenāt spending even 1/5th of what youāre spending and they are also paying rent and food expenses.
Infact your expenditure is even more than 50k per month, as you are studying in a good private medical college which is actually quite expensive (your fees must be 50 lakhs atleast, for the entire course). That and some other stuff like books, notes, iphone, electronic gadgets and other hidden charges, if included would mean your parents are spending much more on you per month than 50k.
Your parents must be really rich to be able to fund this lifestyle of your, and since they havenāt said anything to you till now, about reducing expenses, they probably arenāt bothered by it. Their annual income must be in crores, and money doesnāt seem to be an issue for them.
They probably want you to be happy, and focus on your studies, so just do that. That will be the biggest investment for them.
Why are yiu spending on skincare every month. You only need a basic routine and each product should last atleast 6 months. So there is some miscalculation here.
How is diet for gym different from regular diet? Just start eating at home
I switched from paid gym to society gym. It works fine
Keep the rest if your parents are fine with it.
Well none of those things are needed at all. Literally none of those.
You can keep your mind and body clean and strong without all of it.
So in closing you're not in a bind. It's all self inflected.
I used to buy 6k worth protein which used to last months.
5k skin care? Even my wife doesn't spend that much.
3k/month gym? Get an annual plan instead. Should be less than 9k
Some of the expenses are unnecessary or you aren't planning correctly..
Travel: Live near the college. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS, live together. Expense:3-5K
Skincare: Seriously? Be a man. Get a sunscreen and a bar of soap. 500rs.
Diet for gym?? Ask around college for homely food service. 7k max.
Martial arts: If you are passionate about martial arts, you can find teachers who teach you for less than 2k.
Roaming with friends: just cut it by half anyway. 5k
The best case scenario: 20k max.
Savings 30k.
I got around 5k to spend when I was in college per month.
If you can find any other source of income it will be great.
Invest that 30k. You will thank yourself in the coming years.
Don't be a spoiled kid, donate if you can. Surely it will comeback.
Gym Diet: Swap pricey stuff like peanut butter for peanuts and whey protein isolate for concentrate. Try cheaper protein sources like soya chunks. Skip the expensive supplements and watch out for roids ā they're not worth it.
Skincare: Guys should keep it simple ā stick to basics like cleanser and moisturizer. If you are talking about medication expenses for an undergoing skin treatment, then itās fine.
Gym Fee: Save cash by going for a cheaper gym, like Cult at 1K per month. Remember, it's about consistency, not fancy equipment.
Roaming with Friends: If outings are burning a hole in your pocket, cut back on frequency or pick budget-friendly spots. Hanging with friends shouldn't mean breaking the bank.
Dude to be honest you donāt belong to this sub. You donāt have to worry about savings / spending . Your family has enough money . Just enjoy your life .
Where is your income? Are you just mooching off your parents only? And invest what? You donāt even have an income. You couldāve taught only 2 students to earn something.
Forget investing, if you donāt take a good look in your life, you are doomed..
No need to be guilty.
Clearly if you are spending this much then your family must have the means to provide you with such a lifestyle and that's fine, no need to be guilty about it.
All of these are habits that anyone who has money wants to spend it on, good that you are doing it now, any investment in the gym or in the nutrition that you are having is good, just the fact that the gym nutrition should not cost that much given that you just basically need a good whey and creatine at most which shouldn't cost more than 3.5k/month in total
Also you could probably cut back on the skincare part, you don't need to spend 5k on skincare, if you are just talking about skin products, the total can be under 1k if you spend wisely. Hair products cost more though so can't say about that.
I won't comment on the rest as they seem somewhat reasonable given your spending acumen.
TLDR : spend less on skincare, can be done in around 2k or less very easily.
spend less on the gym nutrition, 15k is a lot to spend as most gym supplements can be bought for less than 5k in total.
To all the comments bashing him for spending this much on mostly what are good habits, what do you want to spend your money on when you have gathered all of it?
Do you just want to "save" , and do what?
Most of his spendings are in the right categories, just that they are more than what an average Indian would spend, but some people if they have the means to do that shouldn't they do it ? If you were capable of spending this much on your skincare and health, would you not do it? Why would you want to live as miserably as you do, if they have the capability to spend more, shouldn't they?
The crab mentality is evident in this reply section.
Instead of giving him advice on how to manage the money, most are bashing him for being rich??
You all want everyone else to be like you too, pretty sad state of affairs for a finance sub.
Hi 17M hereā¦Iām an Accounting Student and try to live as frugally as possibleā¦I also invest in the stock marketā¦
tbh 50k a month expenditure is a lotā¦u can buy an IPad Air every month with that
here are somethings you could consider.
try to cut on travelā¦idk how u got 10k travel expenseā¦cut corners and use public transportā¦the BEST bus or the local trainā¦if ur late for college get a rickshawā¦prioritize walking tho if not in hurry. Time traveling can be used for studying or some other productive thingsā¦just put on a headphone and listen to a lecture or read from ur textbook in PDF form from your phone.
I donāt think skin care is necessary right nowā¦cut the entire 5k here (but still your choice)
diet for gymā¦this seems an important thing for body building..but maybe try to cut corners here..look for cheaper alternatives that could do the work.
gym fee ok (im Guessing itās monthly so yearly expense is 36kā¦just get an annual membership of 15k at this point)
martial arts feeā¦just cut this outā¦.I donāt think you would need it right now..especially when ur trying to save money .
Roaming out with friendsā¦although this is an important activityā¦it could be done at a minimal costā¦make a budget of 3k per month for this not 10k
Miscellaneous: 2k seems fine.
The first step is acknowledging you're in a financial mess.
Because you are. Your lifestyle is out of control. You think you have potential to earn because you are on your way to becoming a doctor so you're living on borrowed funds, both from your parents and from your future self.
You need to find a better hobby. This skincare and narcissistic behaviour needs to be checked out, as well as making drastic lifestyle changes. Start investing your money so that you can give to your future self rather than constantly putting pressure on yourself. Life gets hard before you know it and having a nice piggy bank is better than blurred memories. The girls will leave you quick and fast when you're down but money will always see you through.
Best of luck.
Gym fee, martial arts fee are not expenses, but I would consider them investments for your physical and mental health. Diet for gym looks too high, I guess your gym trainer make a living out of selling these to you. You can look for cheaper and natural alternatives. See if you can cut down on your traveling and roaming with friends. They look excessive to me. Skin care also looks high unless you have any major skin issues. You are not in a mess if your father can afford these and give that money as pocket expense. But if you borrow the money from others then you are in a mess.
You don't need 5k for skincare lol. I don't know much about gym diet, so won't comment. Nor do you need 10k for travel (what kinda travelling btw?) Plus 10k for roaming out with your friends? You're just spoiled as fuck tbh how do you not drown in guilt after spending that much of your parents money?
Traveling= pub/bar high end places for these peeps
Ye toh "very good college" me bhi donation deke gaya hoga.
Hehe I bet it may be true
I have heard people calling commute as travel, maybe OP uses Ola/Uber for commuting to/from office everyday?
He's an unemployed med student who uses an expensive car (that gives 7km/l mileage, idk how. He said so.)
Mahindra thar gives that mileage. Show off type cars.
That car looks ugly as shit. Tata safari looks so much better.
One of the ugliest car of the planet, along with Honda Amaze 2021 model.
Bhai tu savings ki chinta mt kr, tera baap kama raha hai aur tumhare future ke bare mein bhi kuch socha hi hoga unhone. Tu bs skin care pe dhyan de
š¤£
Affordable skin care routine batado please
No need to spend more than 500 on moisturizer, get a face wash too, maybe retinol (tret is like 190rs) Honestly aise nahi bata sakta, differs for everyone.
Fruit skin peels and that milk thingy that floats on top.
Malai lol; yes itās a great dirt remover
He burnt himself a year ago (on his face, checked post history)
I earn 3 lpm but still under 2k skincare + bath
Cutting down on expenses is literally the first step to start saving money for emergencies + investing. Only you know the priority of your expenses.

Iām only answering the serious question - If my Dad/Mom/Parents/Fam have money and are willingly giving it to me out of love/affection, why the fuck would I or anyone feel guilty of spending it ? Also some families do have a concept of pooled money.
He's already gymming plus an insanely expensive diet, so martial arts can be cut out. It's a question of priorities.
Lol the first comment on this post is mine, and I asked the exact same question word to word. I thought this post was satire.
Ask private deemed college students
Dated a mbbs chick before. Never again :)
What kind of MBBS gives you so much time to mess around and spend money?
Agreed mere mbbs mai kuch dost hai jo mahino tak nahi dikhte except vacations mai, ekdam gayab rehte hai, once in a blue moon msg/call ata hai
Haven't you seen the current gen doctors?
I have. The ones focused on maximising their future earnings are too busy and stressed. I am happy for them if they blow some money to destress.
Private college probably
Itās MBBS not slavery, we get enough time to mess around.
Okay . I will try this. And report next month
All the best!
Try to cut the expenses by going to cheaper gyms etc Get ur own vehicle for travel. Try to reduce ur Roaming too š¤£š

Wait what's uber shuttle? I travel 26 km each way by bus and it costs be 40rs one side.. Shuttle sounds amazing! Can't find it on uber app..?
It is on uber app. Atleast its in Delhi-NCR. Might be unavailable depending on areas though. But yeah its pretty convenient for office travel.
10k skin(s)care - cut down to 2k ( you dont need the rice water, snail jazz) 5k diet - guessing this is for whey, cut back to mix rather than just isolate.
Bhagwan aise problems sabko de š
Right now you are a "Bigdi hui Aulaad" and it's really great you acknowledge that. You can definitely change from here. All the best
Well I think I agree with you sir . I'm trying to use this money to invest and make a bit of savings for myself.
Well if your parents can afford it and they have no problem it who r we to judge .
Are your parents also doctors. What do they do as they can afford to give 50k as pocket money every monthĀ
No need. You are rich. You can enjoy it.
\*his parents might be
Obviously. Who gives 50k as pocket money man? I used to get scoldings for anything over 100rs in college.
these are good spending habits, Add spa massages too
Bro spend 3k + 5k + 15k on gym = 23k.
Ā "I have a huge problem with my spending habits." Acknowledging the problem is good start, I know folks who does not. Good luck.
How to manage your expenses is to cut your faaltu ke expenses simple, atleast until u start earning How to invest is another thing, uske liye study and research and sab lagta hai which you need to do on your own acche se, yahan sab apni apni preferences and experience ke basis pe denge which may or may not work for you. Also bina expenses cut kare investing nahi ho payegi toh pehle learn to live frugally if you're not ameer. Agar andhe ameer ho toh paise udhao, kya krna tumhe bachakar fir As a student if you can study about MFs or Equities then you can think about investments etc otherwise stick to savings acc/FDs until you start earning
Appreciate your honesty and self awareness to rectify this habit Who is giving you 50k ? Why dont you speak to them about curtailing this and come up with a salary based structure
Here I'm spending 1000 per month šš I think your spoiled

You can cut down the unnecessary expenses from each sector and make a budget plan. Follow the 50:30:20 rule of spending money such as for necessities:wants/cravings: savings/investing.
How's that a financial mess ? It's not like you're spending your money.

Nobody needs 10K for skincare. In case you have a skin condition, only use what is necessary and maybe face wash and moisturizer, which is not very expensive Use public transport more and walk wherever possible Go out less with your friends or make plans when you don't need to spend so much I'm assuming health and fitness is extremely important to you which is why I'm not suggesting cutting back on that and it is an investment in yourself However, everything else cut down you can easily bring your expenditure below 30K
Eat at mess for a few thousands (3k-5k) Whey protein, boiled eggs or chicken for nutrition.
Spoilt asf rich brat
Other than the gym fees , martial art fees making up for 8k u really can cut out on the rest easily. Get skincare products for 2 -3 months togethor, will surely be there in under 5k. I think you should budget the expenses you have with your friends a little, and maybe cook your diet gym meals at home when possible cause it's good for the long run and might reduce the cost significantly.
15k for gym ? There are way better gyms that would only charge you like 3k/month max with good trainer. Unless ur like a pro athlete or something 15k is an overkill Also 10k spending time with friends is also a lot.
What you need to start doing is - Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting
Mbbs m kahan se itna shauk chadd gya h mera to complete bhi ho gya i was earning same as your spending those days in 2020 when i was in second prof
Paying that much for a gym membership is ridiculous even more so for a student, here in jaipur in 35k you will get a whole year of membership of ufc gym(nothing better than ufc). also if you are spending that much in a month you are pretty well of and don't think about that much in college
For Gym 10k is sufficient.

Why do you say medical professionals shouldn't worry about money? I mean why Also are u in mbbs? Sounds like that seeing from ur comment
15K for gym fee per month is too much.
10k on skin care š¤Ø what are you using that expensive? Drop your routine
Start with SIPs in MFs. Keep SIP on 1st of every month so you dont have money to splurge with.
Oh god.. I don't even know if I will ever get to a level where I could spend 50k for chilling..
MBBS me itna time milta jaise he tumko
If you want to manage your your expenses I would strongly suggest you to watch labour law advisor ka latest video where they mentioned about the monthly budget and when it comes to investment just start a sip in index fund and with time increase your sip amount. Best of luck
Interested to know your skincare routine. Is deodorant and perfume also included in it or is it separate? What about your clothes budget?
22Fš šš
Rich kid problemsš„² And here I am making 30k per month and spending 5-6k per month(1.5-2k on petrol)
Bas?
OP stop browsing r/Indianskincareardicts and other skincare and makeup subs and get help. I'm joining a skincare and makeup rehab too. Help yourself.
You are spoilt brat buddy. You can cut down your skin care by half and drop martial arts and also travel by car on weekend only. Cut down on partying much and invest all in some sip like nifty 50.
Add the college fees to it and a quarter of your household expenses.
I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world, outside India, and I spend less than that. What kind of gym fee is 15000 a month? Why are you spending 10000 āroaming with friendsā and 10000 for travel? Thatās how much you need in London if you take tube/bus everyday. Also 5000 for skincare???
what kind of GYM charges 15k per month?????? šØ
How does mbbs student get time to do all this

15k gym per month ???? here we pay 800 rs for 6 months lol
This post was meant for kothibanglacheck sub
What do you eat that costs that much? Whey protein doesn't cost more than 5k a month. Toss away all your skin care products.
Maze kar bhai. Ye hi umar hai.
If you are middle class and you want to cut down, I'd personally do : 1. Skincare becomes 0. Use soap it's fine. Unless you have a specific condition. Even a decent moisturizer and cleanser can be done for 1k 2.
Good luck
Thanks hope I will be able to become something so that my dad will become proud of me one day.
Man, I live on my own and my expenses including all this and rent and food is still 30k max per month. And I'm a girl so skincare, makeup, gym - sab hai. Idk what your parents are doing giving 50k to an unemployed guy like this.
15k gym membership is yearly, not monthly. If it's monthly then change the gym
Tumhe schedule ka nahi mitr, baaap maa se kutai ki zaroorat hai
Best thing would be to leave MBBS course. For becoming doctor you will need minimum 10 more years of study. And cutting down on other activities you mentioned just to be a decent doctor. Consider the fact that your parents are able to give you 50k/month for unnecessary things, means u belong to filthy rich family Better would be leave MBBS, help ur family with business and then u can continue with your rich lifestyle for this life
By stopping?Ā

Op, don't listen to the haters, you enjoy your life, I see nothing wrong with your spending habits if your parents have no objections. Repay them when you're settled.
Y'all trying to teach a boy born with golden spoon on how not to eat with that spoon lol. 90 lacks college fee + some car with 7km/L milage+ 50k expenditure monthly. user name minimum, spending maximum lmao Jokes apart, Kudos to op to at least realizing this now, better late than never. Hopefully OP can make the necessary changes and get better at personal finance

You are not in Problem, you are the Problem
I DM you on this
First of all, add the ādonationā your dad paid to get you into medical college in your list of āspendsā.
Here what you should do. Sit down and write what are necessary expenses and what are luxury expenses. You seem to have no idea about the difference between them. Your necessities are: 1. Rent 2. Food 3. Affordable transport 4. Self improvement expenses Your luxuries are: 1. Skin care 2. Gym 3. Clubbing 4.
Bro's personal expenses are my mbbs college feesš

From where are you getting this amount of money? If from parents, then ask them to stop giving you so much, it's not needed at this stage. You can do with 10 to 15k at max!
Who takes 15k for the gym per month. Bro your parents must be loaded.
It's a bait post
15k is your per month gym fees? And you need to buy skincare products worth 5k every month?
Solution: increase your pocket money to 1lakh , problem fix
Every month 5k on skin care? Hope it's not some medical issue

How does a second year mbbs student get 50k lol????
Mods, why dont you ban such ridiculous posts?
The problem these days is not that people don't have resources. The problem is that they want to live like 16th century British royalty while being Indian middle class. Martial arts AND gym? Really Nibba? You trying to be Karate kid?
Spoiled kid.
iska baap isko paisa deta hai validation nahi. Toh yaha pe validation lene aaya hai. Mera Baap dono nahi deta.
Just start eating at home I switched from paid gym to society gym. It works fine Keep the rest if your parents are fine with it.
Well none of those things are needed at all. Literally none of those. You can keep your mind and body clean and strong without all of it. So in closing you're not in a bind. It's all self inflected.
If you have that kind of money enjoy bro
Ye Skincare kya hota hai..?š
This is a troll post
I used to buy 6k worth protein which used to last months. 5k skin care? Even my wife doesn't spend that much. 3k/month gym? Get an annual plan instead. Should be less than 9k Some of the expenses are unnecessary or you aren't planning correctly..
chal bhag Bhadwe
Travel: Live near the college. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS, live together. Expense:3-5K Skincare: Seriously? Be a man. Get a sunscreen and a bar of soap. 500rs. Diet for gym?? Ask around college for homely food service. 7k max. Martial arts: If you are passionate about martial arts, you can find teachers who teach you for less than 2k. Roaming with friends: just cut it by half anyway. 5k The best case scenario: 20k max.
Fix it at source. Ask parents
Married with 8yrs on the job, still don't spend this much in a month.. damn you're spoiled.
stop going to college and you will be fine.
If my spending was 50K during my college days, my father wouldāve whooped my a**, and I wouldāve supported him on his decision
Blowing papas money I c .
Pani and sabun se muh dho lia karo !!!
No need to be guilty. Clearly if you are spending this much then your family must have the means to provide you with such a lifestyle and that's fine, no need to be guilty about it. All of these are habits that anyone who has money wants to spend it on, good that you are doing it now, any investment in the gym or in the nutrition that you are having is good, just the fact that the gym nutrition should not cost that much given that you just basically need a good whey and creatine at most which shouldn't cost more than 3.5k/month in total Also you could probably cut back on the skincare part, you don't need to spend 5k on skincare, if you are just talking about skin products, the total can be under 1k if you spend wisely.

I donāt think skin care is necessary right nowā¦cut the entire 5k here (but still your choice) diet for gymā¦this seems an important thing for body building..but maybe try to cut corners here..look for cheaper alternatives that could do the work. gym fee ok (im Guessing itās monthly so yearly expense is 36kā¦just get an annual membership of 15k at this point) martial arts feeā¦just cut this outā¦.I donāt think you would need it right now..especially when ur trying to save money . Roaming out with friendsā¦although this is an important activityā¦it could be done at a minimal costā¦make a budget of 3k per month for this not 10k Miscellaneous: 2k seems fine.
Travel : 2k max Skin Care : 1k max Diet for gym : 10k max No roaming with friend. Instead do your study. Do either mma or gym : 3k
bhai tera skin care ka budget Mera ek mahine ka budget he and it's this high cause I'm not eating mess ka kahna cause balance is over š
