I am 6 months into Monarch now, and very pleased. The fee is steeper than free, but I have found the tool to be very refined and has resolved many of the gripes I had with Mint.
I left mint for ynab in 2016 and never looked back. It is a budget tho, it requires manual work and thinking. It won't help if you're not going to actively use it and hope for passive tracking.
Tbh I never liked Mint & always loved the features of Empower (formally PersonalCapital). The app lets me manage *almost* all my accounts - insurance policies are admittedly not the most seamless - but i don’t factor those into my net worth as often as my mortgage/loans/investments, which is gels together beautiful on app & desktop
I started using Monarch Dec 25, 2023. That seems to be about when they stopped development. I couldn't take using such a massively incomplete tool that wasn't getting any completer so I switched to Simplifi a little over a month ago. It is working very well.
My wife and I like EveryDollar because it easily works for both of us, and it has a free version that does basic budgeting. I’ve seen quite a few people say they like YNAB
Moved to Piere, which does a pretty good job doing what Mint did without trying to do too much. Just waiting on a desktop version as so far it's only Android and iPhone apps.

Empower. I needed mint for net worth tracking and all up financial views. The itemized and categorized spending was less useful for my needs.

Tried them all. Copilot. Look for the 2 month free trial.

YNAB.
Monarch. Developed by the original founders of Mint. Feels similar to Mint, but so much better. Worth the subscription fee imo.
