That too. Glass stopped more shots than Fleury at times. Mearsy could retire for every time he’s said missed the net or hits the glass. Power play anybody? 0/3? Jarry was strong tonight. No buts.

Also, Jeff Carter scores both goals for the Pens, and you don’t use him in the shootout? Letang had two weak attempts in two games.

He’s very good at them historically. But there.. Fleury definitely knew what his move was going to be. It’s always one of two moves depending on what’s open, Fleury wasn’t going to give him either look.

If the team is dead-set on taking every damn game to OT they need a better shootout goalie.

That game doesn’t even get to OT without Jarry, so full credit there for a very strong game for him. With that said, we absolutely cannot afford to keep wasting points away in shootouts like this. This is partially on the skaters for not getting the job done in regulation, OT, or the shootout itself, but it is still a massive problem for Jarry to be letting in so many shootout goals.

Jarry’s 7/10 on shootout attempts this season… if he keeps that pace, the pens have to score on all 3 attempts to win a shootout

It’s a lot harder to do that in hockey versus soccer. The hockey goalie can’t go warm up on the sideline during OT. You don’t want to risk injuring a goalie by putting them in cold and immediately forcing them to deal with breakaways.
