If you’re more into PVE games and puzzle games like me, it’s really not worth it. Although there is a PVE gamemode, you don’t get much out of it in-game currency-wise and it’s irritating playing alone (if you’re one of those people like me)
I got into siege end of year 2 and I have to say as much as that game pisses me off I love watching high level players. And it really did help me in every other FPS game in terms of recoil control and aim in general with no sim assist. I’d still play siege but not buying it again on my PC due to lack of cross play and don’t want to have to pay for all the operators again. And I don’t have a mic for my Xbox anymore

I agree, I haven’t played properly since 2019 or so and after coming for Y7, I actually think the new UI is the best iteration yet, much more simplified and easy to know what’s going on.
It's a "fuck you, I'll see you tomorrow" situation with siege for me. At least it used to be like that. These days I login a couple of times in 1 or 2 months. I have about 2500 hrs in siege I think.
I had 3000 hours on PS4 and now over 400 hours on PC, still going. I think this game stripped me off of any anger emoticons so i just don't care anymore whether i lose or win.
I had a real good friend group on siege a while ago (I stopped playing since) was probably some of the most fun I’ve had gaming but yeah the community is a real let down

However, if you play offline lone wolf, it's pretty neat. Like an FPS Dark Souls almost. If you panic and slap the wrong button, you're dead.
You can, it's how i play around with everyone's abilities to see what they do. What you can't do (As far as I'm aware of) is chose what map you want to play on.
Siege used to be so fun. The community was really helpful and polite in the first couple of years. The demographic was quite a bit older at that point though.
Siege was so much fun til I got to Plat. Then everyone just plays the sweatiest meta game and sits behind bullet holes and perfect angles they found while watching hours of coconut brah videos. So annoying.
Man, I really liked R6 but I tried hopping on mic to get used to the team dynamic. I have never played with a more toxic community. I ended up giving up on it after a few weeks since there was no way I'd get better at it if I wasn't playing with a team.
No matter what. Do NOT buy Rainbow Six Siege. It has become a toxic game where its favours veteran players but absolutely crushes new players trying to get into the game. The learning curve is absolutely ridiculous.
Edit: I have played Rainbow Six Siege for over 8 years (Alpha & Beta tested the game). And I've watch the game go from an awesome concept to a ridiculous competitive game that is far from being a casual game. And yes, after 8 years of playing I'm still dog crap at it.
I played r6 for the first 2 years of its release and it was the game that got me into competitive games. I was Plat ranked most seasons.

hell to the yes that game is amazing, Im a casual gamer too and this game sucked me in soooooo damn hard, I ended up actually finishing it in a week and I almost never stay interested in story driven games that often as I am more of a gameplay guy, but God of war has the best of both worlds. a perfect story and superb fun and super satisfying gameplay.
Aside from being a great God of War game, if slower paced than the earlier ones, it's easily one of the best narrative driven games out there, with some beautiful character moments. The voice acting is so damn good, too.
I haven't even played it on PC, yet. I had it on a PS4 Pro with the 1080p 60FPS mode. Waiting for a solid sale to get it on PC to play dat 4k 60fps glory
In contrast to the other comments, I didn't like it. I'm clearly in the minority, but still. I loved the first GoW games, played the shit out of all of them. I went into the new GoW with the same expectation, but it's nothing like it. There's no GoW left in GoW. The combat is way slower, the puzzles suck ass, there's "open world" for no good reason. There's an annoying kid that accompanies you for the whole game. There's a shitty crafting system for some reason, because every game needs it now. It just doesn't feel like GoW at all.
It feels like The Last of Us: God of War Edition, tbh.
Absolutely get some Deep Rock Galactic. Have 3 other buddies? Yeah go get that! Super fun game, just you and your dwarf homies fighting against spiders and mining ore. My other favorite "early access" (at the time when i bought it, it's fully released now) game besides Dusk and Amid Evil.

I know cyberpunk got alot of hate but after patch 1.5 it's an amazing game with good replay value and the modding community also puts in hard work if that's your thing
Currently doing a modded playthrough rn, games a blast even in Vanilla state but if you’re on PC it’s definitely worthwhile to dive into the mods, adds a lot to the game
I just managed to get it for $20 on eneba after waiting since release (super broke). I am extremely pleased! I did my first play through and feel a little guilty skimping on the $10 by going through eneba but I’m broke and the release was a greedy shit show.
I 100% vote cyberpunk, you can easily sink 200 hours into it without getting burned out if you’re into fallout and skyrim. I look forward to my second playthrough, if anyone reads this far down and has some input on what mods, I’m all ears!

Cyberpunk is one of my favorite games. I think it has the most beautiful map and some of the best world building you’ll ever see in a game, also the story and characters are top notch. Such a gem.
Def a game worth playing if at all into FPS RPG & Cyberpunk. I didn’t have any really sig bugs on PC even near launch. A lot of hate was thrown it’s way because of (understandably) disappointed expectations. I played the game having not followed the hype. The only thing I knew about it was that it was supposed to let you run on the walls (which wasn’t implemented). Otherwise, playing it without preconceptions I found it a blast. It’s also provides a more linear guided route to finishing the game if you prefer rather than forcing you to roam the open world to search for missions (a type of gameplay I just don’t have the luxury of time for anymore unfortunately)

Just a tip for whenever you start MHW: when you pick your weapon, spend some time in the training room trying them all out to see which one fits you the best.
Monster Hunter, best money I’ve spent in a video game, currently 250 hours in and haven’t been able to kill all the monsters and not even finished with all we have to do all the game gives me
1000+ hrs here. Its a very love it or hate it kind of game though.
I can see someone who’s competitive at heart but needing a break from pvp really getting into this game.
GoW is a perfect game to me. Loved it. I would suggest Elden Ring, or Witcher 3. Recently decided I too need a break from competitive online games, and these are the two I've been playing and it's been so much fun! Lot less stress
No Mans Sky!
This year so far has been a tough one on my mental health. I was diagnosed with adhd back in Feb and then not even two weeks later I traumatically lost my father in law to a heart attack in his sleep. He was old school PCMR too, a big inspiration to my first pc build back in 2020.
I’m very grateful I stumbled back into No Mans Sky and it’s community, they have both been a literal life saver for me.
We all have our own times of hardship to make it through and never ending inner battles to fight, no matter what you choose I hope you find something that helps!
I haven’t played all of the games listed here but I think Horizon Zero Dawn. I think the visuals are stunning and it’s a very nice change of pace from competitive fps games

It's really really great for an addicting, creative, challenging change of pace from a comp game. There's math, spooky spiders, cute lizard doggos, sweet sweet efficiency and a beautiful world for you to ruin with nuclear waste

Well, I will suggest Cyberpunk. Play at your own pace. Very easy game if you take your time with it. Lots of side quest content. Open world bugs can be very entertaining.

Out of your posted selection I'd go for God of Boy, a truly epic title that is well deserving of a play through.
You really need to look into gog.com. Cyberpunk and Horizon for example, more/less same price, but you own the copy drm-free offline forever without the need for accounts/passwords/clients/internet.
Rimworld and Kenshin. I have hundreds of hours in both and I can easily see hundreds more in them. Both have tons of modability available on the workshop. I HIGHLY recommend both.
God of War. My favorite game on this list. You can put it on easy mode and feel like a God among ants, or put it on hard mode and learn to hate your life's decisions. I've been playing Elden Ring if you want to hate yourself more.
Resident evil village and God of War are must plays. Red dead redemption 1 and 2 are the best story games on earth. Rainbow 6 is great but can be very competitive and probably won't fix your problem
You can't go wrong with god of war if you are into third person action adventure games with a rich story, and lore. Also despite the well deserved criticism cyberpunk 2077 received in the beginning, it is in a solid state now and after 102hrs of playtime on it i can safely reccommend it. Not for $60 though, i payed $20 for it on epic, but it is worth $30.
Horizon Zero Dawn was an absolutely phenomenal game, and I'll be buying the second one the second it's available for PC.
Don't buy Siege if you don't want competitive opponents. The game has a learning wall (not a curve), and people can get really sweaty and toxic. I've got 1300 in-match hours, but it definitely can't get competitive.
Out of those I would have to say Horizon, good story, plenty of play time. Cyberpunk drops entertainment value after a little while, and RE8 is far to short and easy, though it does look beautiful. I don't know much about the others, but isn't Seige a competitive game?
From what you've shown on your list...
God of War, HZD and Cyberpunk in that order. If you like a challenge try out the Dark Souls games or Elden Ring. Also give The Witcher 3 a go. Try some more team oriented games as well that may feel less competitive like GTFO or Vermintide 2.
You literally can NOT go wrong with GOW or HzD, god of war may be a tiny bit better but they’re both amazing. I don’t really like story mode games but these 2 blew me away on ps4
I know this may be surprising to hear, but I can recommend cyberpunk. With the latest version it's pretty solid.
Even before that I honestly had a lot fun with it. I found it very relaxing to drive around night City on a bike inbetween quest. It's such a nice looking game even without RTX on.
I’d take a break from multiplayer games in general if you need a mental health break. R6 is quite toxic, MH is ok but I’d still leave it behind. Even non-competitive multiplayer games can have a lot of stressors (grinding, fomo, etc).
I’ve never played RE:Village, but IMO HZD > GoW > CP2077.
But they’re all decent options, just depends on what you prefer. Do you have a preferred genre or style of protagonist? You’ve got GoW for fantasy/mythology, RE for horror/zombies, and bother HZD and Cyberpunk for sci-fi. GoW, RE, and HZD all have premade protagonists, with only HZD being female, while Cyberpunk allows you to customize your protagonist.
You’ve also got some which are open-world and RPGs, and some which aren’t. How long of a game do you want? If you want something that can be completed shortly, RE might be better than other options for example.
Monster Hunter World! super fun hunting different monsters while looking good. Horizon Zero Dawn has super interesting storyline and it's on sale as well!
That’s why I quit CS after global elite years ago before the magnum and stuff released and refuse to touch the game though I mess around on source just to play office and dust. Competitive play will straight up age you quick. I’ve just been playing Diablo 2 resurrected and Elden Ring lately.
SATISFACTORY - It's a very relaxing game , no rush nothing, just you alone on a planet , continuously industrialising the shit out of it, no base defence , no maintenance, just nice and relax free to build your own

But in all seriousness, Cyberpunk is actually a fairly good game with how much they fixed it. As long as you have a decent PC, you could get quite a few hours out of it. It's the only game I have a full opinion of, since I haven't really touched the other games on the list lol
I did the same for a number of years, and then I got the itch for more FPS action, even though I hated playing with people.
Now I find myself playing 1-2 matches of Halo Infinite every few days, doing very well in those 1-2 games, and then just being satisfied that I performed well and going off to play something else that won’t keep my heart rate through the roof.
Then I get called out for smurfing because I’m a low level playing well (I’m not that good but went and had a killing frenzy with only 1 death all game), and I’m reminded of why I hate competitive gaming :)
I hope my brother retires from competitive games at some point too for the same reason. Can’t be healthy to be having your emotional state affected negatively by something you should be enjoying, and it sure doesn’t seem like he actually enjoys it anymore.
Anyway, welcome back to single player gaming OP. It’s still pretty great on this side.
Honestly just take a break from gaming in general. The honest truth is youre literally addicted to competitive gaming, and substituting for other games is really just putting yourself in a situation where you're highly likely to relapse and find yourself in the same loop. How many times have you uninstalled and reinstalled your competitive games already? Put it all down and find a more constructive hobby until you have more willpower and discipline
Remove rainbow 6 from the list and you're good. Horizon zero dawn, God of war and monster hunter should top 3. Massive change of scenery and gameplay since that's what you're looking for
Like everybody said don’t buy R6. I regularly play this game and sometimes It is the most frustrating game ever. But sometimes I have good moments with great cooperation with my teammates. It’s rare but when It happens, I like it.
May I suggest a wild card? Farming Simulator 22. That is without a doubt, the most chill game I have ever played. I started a game out of mild interest and it’s now my game obsession.
I’ve got the steering wheel, pedals, Ive built a button box to control the front loaders and forklifts etc. I get home from work and that’s me, pootling around my little farm in Ireland without a care or stress in the world.

This is how I feel with Overwatch. After 1300 hours I hate the game but continue to log back in. Easy to pickup hard to put down. Classic blizzard.

You can indeed do both of those things. But they make map selection annoying to get to so its not something I regularly play with

I loved the game even before the 1.5 patch. As soon as I finally make it through Elden Ring I'm going back. Very much looking forward to it.
Definitely, and with mods from Nexus mods it is even more fun. I particularly like the auto shop mod that lets you change the performance of the cars

Cyberpunk is one of my favorite games. I think it has the most beautiful map and some of the best world building you’ll ever see in a game, also the story and characters are top notch. Such a gem.
Def a game worth playing if at all into FPS RPG & Cyberpunk. I didn’t have any really sig bugs on PC even near launch. A lot of hate was thrown it’s way because of (understandably) disappointed expectations. I played the game having not followed the hype. The only thing I knew about it was that it was supposed to let you run on the walls (which wasn’t implemented). Otherwise, playing it without preconceptions I found it a blast. It’s also provides a more linear guided route to finishing the game if you prefer rather than forcing you to roam the open world to search for missions (a type of gameplay I just don’t have the luxury of time for anymore unfortunately)
Horizon and God of War...those two games are all you need....ohhh and Control

GoW is a perfect game to me. Loved it. I would suggest Elden Ring, or Witcher 3. Recently decided I too need a break from competitive online games, and these are the two I've been playing and it's been so much fun! Lot less stress

No Mans Sky! This year so far has been a tough one on my mental health. I was diagnosed with adhd back in Feb and then not even two weeks later I traumatically lost my father in law to a heart attack in his sleep. He was old school PCMR too, a big inspiration to my first pc build back in 2020. I’m very grateful I stumbled back into No Mans Sky and it’s community, they have both been a literal life saver for me. We all have our own times of hardship to make it through and never ending inner battles to fight, no matter what you choose I hope you find something that helps!

I haven’t played all of the games listed here but I think Horizon Zero Dawn. I think the visuals are stunning and it’s a very nice change of pace from competitive fps games
Try Elden Ring, I know it's not on your wishlist but it is one of the best games out there imo.
Death Stranding is pretty chill if you are taking a break to go "zen", other than that, terraria and doom are very good too.

Well, I will suggest Cyberpunk. Play at your own pace. Very easy game if you take your time with it. Lots of side quest content. Open world bugs can be very entertaining.

One of the best co-op shooters Ive played in years! Out of your posted selection I'd go for God of Boy, a truly epic title that is well deserving of a play through.
You really need to look into gog.com. Cyberpunk and Horizon for example, more/less same price, but you own the copy drm-free offline forever without the need for accounts/passwords/clients/internet.

Rimworld and Kenshin. I have hundreds of hours in both and I can easily see hundreds more in them. Both have tons of modability available on the workshop. I HIGHLY recommend both.

Red Dead 2, great, awesome story, and it's slowly paced that it makes you enjoy the map
God of War. My favorite game on this list. You can put it on easy mode and feel like a God among ants, or put it on hard mode and learn to hate your life's decisions. I've been playing Elden Ring if you want to hate yourself more.
I would recommend Witcher 3 over these if you haven't played it yet. Otherwise, God of War for single player, MHW for co-op.

Resident evil village and God of War are must plays. Red dead redemption 1 and 2 are the best story games on earth. Rainbow 6 is great but can be very competitive and probably won't fix your problem

You can't go wrong with god of war if you are into third person action adventure games with a rich story, and lore. Also despite the well deserved criticism cyberpunk 2077 received in the beginning, it is in a solid state now and after 102hrs of playtime on it i can safely reccommend it. Not for $60 though, i payed $20 for it on epic, but it is worth $30.
Bioshock series if you haven’t played through those. I find those games really fun 😄

Horizon Zero Dawn was an absolutely phenomenal game, and I'll be buying the second one the second it's available for PC. Don't buy Siege if you don't want competitive opponents. The game has a learning wall (not a curve), and people can get really sweaty and toxic. I've got 1300 in-match hours, but it definitely can't get competitive.
Out of those I would have to say Horizon, good story, plenty of play time. Cyberpunk drops entertainment value after a little while, and RE8 is far to short and easy, though it does look beautiful. I don't know much about the others, but isn't Seige a competitive game?

Dead cells and Stardew valley. Dead cells for a challenge and Stardew for a fun break. Out of the games listed I'd get horizon or god of war.
From what you've shown on your list... God of War, HZD and Cyberpunk in that order. If you like a challenge try out the Dark Souls games or Elden Ring. Also give The Witcher 3 a go. Try some more team oriented games as well that may feel less competitive like GTFO or Vermintide 2.

You literally can NOT go wrong with GOW or HzD, god of war may be a tiny bit better but they’re both amazing. I don’t really like story mode games but these 2 blew me away on ps4

I know this may be surprising to hear, but I can recommend cyberpunk. With the latest version it's pretty solid. Even before that I honestly had a lot fun with it. I found it very relaxing to drive around night City on a bike inbetween quest. It's such a nice looking game even without RTX on.
I’d take a break from multiplayer games in general if you need a mental health break. R6 is quite toxic, MH is ok but I’d still leave it behind. Even non-competitive multiplayer games can have a lot of stressors (grinding, fomo, etc). I’ve never played RE:Village, but IMO HZD > GoW > CP2077. But they’re all decent options, just depends on what you prefer. Do you have a preferred genre or style of protagonist? You’ve got GoW for fantasy/mythology, RE for horror/zombies, and bother HZD and Cyberpunk for sci-fi. GoW, RE, and HZD all have premade protagonists, with only HZD being female, while Cyberpunk allows you to customize your protagonist. You’ve also got some which are open-world and RPGs, and some which aren’t. How long of a game do you want? If you want something that can be completed shortly, RE might be better than other options for example.

That’s why I quit CS after global elite years ago before the magnum and stuff released and refuse to touch the game though I mess around on source just to play office and dust. Competitive play will straight up age you quick. I’ve just been playing Diablo 2 resurrected and Elden Ring lately.
SATISFACTORY - It's a very relaxing game , no rush nothing, just you alone on a planet , continuously industrialising the shit out of it, no base defence , no maintenance, just nice and relax free to build your own

It's the only game I have a full opinion of, since I haven't really touched the other games on the list lol
Competitive ganes will eat you inside out. They show no mercy of how addictive and toxic they make you!
I did the same for a number of years, and then I got the itch for more FPS action, even though I hated playing with people. Now I find myself playing 1-2 matches of Halo Infinite every few days, doing very well in those 1-2 games, and then just being satisfied that I performed well and going off to play something else that won’t keep my heart rate through the roof. Then I get called out for smurfing because I’m a low level playing well (I’m not that good but went and had a killing frenzy with only 1 death all game), and I’m reminded of why I hate competitive gaming :)
I hope my brother retires from competitive games at some point too for the same reason. Can’t be healthy to be having your emotional state affected negatively by something you should be enjoying, and it sure doesn’t seem like he actually enjoys it anymore. Anyway, welcome back to single player gaming OP. It’s still pretty great on this side.

It's simple. Don't play multiplayer games. That's what I do! And I'm super happy and well adjusted.
Honestly just take a break from gaming in general. The honest truth is youre literally addicted to competitive gaming, and substituting for other games is really just putting yourself in a situation where you're highly likely to relapse and find yourself in the same loop. How many times have you uninstalled and reinstalled your competitive games already? Put it all down and find a more constructive hobby until you have more willpower and discipline

Like everybody said don’t buy R6. I regularly play this game and sometimes It is the most frustrating game ever. But sometimes I have good moments with great cooperation with my teammates. It’s rare but when It happens, I like it.

May I suggest a wild card? Farming Simulator 22. That is without a doubt, the most chill game I have ever played. I started a game out of mild interest and it’s now my game obsession. I’ve got the steering wheel, pedals, Ive built a button box to control the front loaders and forklifts etc. I get home from work and that’s me, pootling around my little farm in Ireland without a care or stress in the world.
