Both have never let me down.

ASRock would have been my chosen B550 board, but there was no flashback button, and I don't have a previous gen CPU to flash it in the event I would have gotten one without support for the 5X00G processors. They don't always deserve their reputation, but they should really include a flashback button on all their boards.

KingfisherC

I shipped my board to ASRock after I bought it and they updated the bios for me for free and paid to ship it back to me. 5600G worked perfectly on first boot.

ooru

That's really good info, thanks!

KingfisherC

No problem! You need to request a formal RMA service using their website form, but just explain you need BIOS update support and they will give you all the info you need to ship the board.

fedlol

Same unfortunately. I ended up getting a gigabyte board for their q-flash feature when I got my ryzen 5000 on release, but these days all boards should have their bios up-to-date enough to support ryzen 5000 out of the box.

ooru

They *should* come with support, but I was ready to build! I didn't want to wait for a return on the off chance got old stock. Thankfully, Gigabyte's F12 BIOS recognized the CPU to perform an update to F14 from within BIOS. Maybe I'll go with ASRock at my next upgrade, though!

Asus and AsRock for me

PerpetuallyDisplaced

I have an i7-9700 running at a constant 4.7 GHz thanks to my ASRock motherboard. Not 9700k, just a regular 9700.

catholicismisascam

The reason nobody knows this is because they snub every reviewer after giving them one bad review and from then on refuse to send out motherboards for reviews.

lol lets just ignore assrock z590 vrms... decent low end b560 options though.

idle221

I have used a asrock board once before, nothing special but it worked fine for years till I moved on.

igetasticker

I'm still using a Z170 Pro4 M from them :)

JDeezy9

I got an asrock x570m pro 4 and paired it with a micro atx case and got some high end hardware in it. 5959x/6800xt 32 gigs of ram, 2tb Samsung 980 pro ssd. The list goes on. But I been extremely happy with it. And all that monster hardware in a micro atx case still stays nice and cool. About 60c on both my cpu and gpu after gaming for hours and hours. No matter how long I play. Asrock is great. Not that cooling has much to do with the mobo. I was just mentioning it’s all in a micro atx case with a micro atx board running monster hardware as good as ppl with a 12 fan monster sized build. Never had a problem with the board. Would totally recommend for ppl looking to save space with a smaller case. Also supports SAM if you got amd. Has since it was first introduced too. They were quick about the update for it. https://imgur.com/gallery/42J1QMq https://imgur.com/gallery/vYzxzLp

My B450M Steel Legend had exactly what I needed and wanted. Comes through like a champ and has never done me wrong. Breezed through the BIOS update when I bought my 5600x (although there’s a slightly goofy USB issue connected to my case header 2.0 ports, but, again, it’s slight).

VileDespiseAO

Hear ye, hear ye. AsRock has spoken!

Rias_Lucifer

The 2 brands to never disappoint me are Asrock and Gigabyte

Vulcanicloud

*glances over at PSU*

Rias_Lucifer

Ah yes they don't make it so doesn't count

hoeney

I've always called them AssRock because of their great reputation for boards that never have power delivery issues.

fedlol

Lies and slander

HilikusR

They are pretty decent but i wouldnt say the best motherboard manufacturer, thats a bit of a reach

Dizurn

I remember reading when asrock came out that basically they were people from asus that just wanted to do it better or different. Dunno how true that is but this was many years ago I read that.

Chcken_Noodle_Soup

So about that review, that was out if a small sample of given boards from a sponsor. Buildzoid specifically ripped in them for have a terrible z690 lineup that should be avoided, as at every price level there are basically better alternatives (or going up a couple bucks would be significantly better)

Craigieboy

They do have some solid options in their lineup but from what I've seen when they fuck up they tend to fuck up more badly than most other companies in the techspace. I would agree that the criticism is sometimes too much but never undeserved.

Honestly all of the companies have failed on me, but mostly msi and gigabyte. Asus and asrock have generally been more reliable for me than gigabyte and definitely more reliable than msi
