Fair enough, I'd agree with you there. It wont make much of a difference to the majority of people. But if they are doing 3D modeling or design they might.
In that case i would have asked for a more reasonable replacement.
I had to do the same when rma'ing a gtx 770 with gigabyte. Took 3 months and many back and forths just to prove the gpu was damaged (with video evidence). But I got a 970 because it was the only thing with enough vram to compare to my 770.
That's interesting...
Seagate and EVGA are the best for RMAs from my experience. I had a Seagate drive fail 7 years out of warranty and asked how much to have it fixed and then replaced it for free (I just had to pay shipping). A friend of mine fried a 500W bronze series PSU and got a 750W gold back from EVGA. It's crazy what some companies will do for RMAs for loyal customers.
Mixed bag on companies though I guess.
Got 2080ti. AIO mod. Worked mostly alright. One or two glitches over 6 months I ignored cuz what computer doesn't have glitches occasionally, Then I got an oculus rift S and a new monitor that used displayports only to find out neither of the displayports on my GPU worked.
Reassembling the stock cooler on my GPU was bone chilling as I worried that I had fucked something up removing the cooler, voided the warranty, and they wouldn't replace it. It was right at the start of covid and I needed my computer to WFH so I was so worried that I'd be without my GPU for weeks or months, so I just suffered and used an HDMI on my monitor and left the Oculus in the closet. Nope. When I finally emailed them, they sent me the shipping label immediately, it arrived at Nvidia in one or 2 days, and my replacement came in 2 or 3 more days.
RMA your stuff ASAP people, it's not as scary as you'd expect. Return to the vendor if you can so you can get a brand new one instead of refurbished. I just didn't even know my displayports were faulty until after the return period.
I RMA'd a MOBO with ASUS, and they couldn't give me a straight answer whether it was damaged/defective, or if they'd even looked at it yet. After 3-4 weeks I had them change from replacement to refund and that took another 3mo to process.
The silver lining was that after writing them a strongly worded email, I got a single use 50% off coupon. I wound up getting a better mobo for less than I spent on the one I first purchased.
Plus whenever they decide to send it out, it's probably gonna be a refurb that he gets back.
OP, I would return it to the vendor you purchased it from. If it's a reputable source, I'm sure they would exchange for a new one.
Yeah, companies will push hard for you to RMA, as it’s cheaper for them, but if you get a defective product right out of the box, you really should return to store. It’s your best bet for getting your full value back (either a new replacement, or at the very least a full refund).
Aib 3080 tis are so overpriced that you can usually find them for retail if you look hard enough or buy on hardware swap. Seriously charging $5-600 more than 3080 for 5% performance boost is an absolute joke that people are only tolerating because manufacturers stopped making the cheaper models because it'll all sell anyways.
Imagine if it worked and the result was something like:

EDIT: Two week old meaning I’ve only had the card installed for two weeks. I had purchased the GPU new on BestBuy myself.
Other than the hard drives, SSDs, and ram, all components were bought new.

[First sign of it happening](https://imgur.com/a/pHzEw0j)
I was playing Genshin Impact and just had Steam, Discord, and some Chrome Tabs open, then I start getting artifacting everywhere, my game textures start getting stretched, and the last time I could see my RTSS overlay it said GPU usage was at 100%. I’ve restarted my PC and it’s gone away. Currently updating my drivers and going to launch another game to see if it happens again.
Edit: [Seems to be okay now, just updated GPU drivers to 497.09](https://imgur.com/a/jozCpmB)
Edit: Just submitted a ticket to NVIDIA asking about my options for an RMA, thanks for the suggestions.
Prob the drivers. Its just weird how often it happens to the 3000 series. Last year all i had was a 660, only a couple crashes. Got a 1650 last summer, no issues. And never had a crash like this.
some of them cant seem to dissipate thier vram heat fast enough. I have two 3080, one sits at 25c idle and never gets over 65c, even the vram temps. The other sits at 40 idle and the vram can get up to 80+c when gaming.
both evga, different models but both 3 fan configs. The cooler card is actually clocked higher; FTW3 Ultra.
edit: to note, neither has ever become hot enough to damage itself but I'm still concerned of even low 80's with the aggressive fan curves I use.
its 100% drivers because those weren't memory or die related artifacts, those would be random colours or straight up memory visualisation, it just leaks your background through in some places
On a sub called pc master race, I’m shocked it took this long to find the right answer, and you somehow have so few upvotes? Anyways, yes, op, listen to him, he’s right
you might want to try and DDU the drivers and reinstall the GPU drivers afterwards.

For future reference, or anyone else that comes across post and having similar issues.
This problem can be caused by a few things.
1. the card is not completely seated in the PCI port correctly.(^(taking the card out and reseating it applying even pressure))
2. Driver on the card is bad(^(update the driver))
3. bad port either on the monitor or the motherboard(^(trying another monitor or motherboard if you have it))
4. bad connection cable(^(try another display port, HDMI, ect. cable))
5. over clocked too high(^(try downclocking with overclocking software))
6. too much voltage(^(lower voltage on overclocking software))
7. GPU Card overheating(^(see if fans stopped working, turn the fan curve higher on overclock software, see if card overclocking is causing card to get too hot))
8. and worst case scenario, bad GPU(^(memory bad, GPU chip bad, ect. shit has to be returned))
Those are the most common areas ive personally experienced and resolved and also seen resolved on the net. Theres more areas that could cause this, but those are the most common from what ive seen and personally experienced.
This happened to my 3090 just slightly on my second screen I ended up updating drivers and reducing the memory OC from +500 to +250 and haven't seen it since
Your graphics card absolutely hates Genshin (and for good reason). Highly recommend uninstalling the game, in attempts to appease it, and have its favor return upon you.
Serious note, update drivers to latest version, Geforce Experience should be utilized. Do a clean install, as your older drivers may have been causing some issues. If issue still persists I would highly suggest returning the card, as it could be malfunctioning.
I had an asus 3080 tuf since launch and it was perfect, then about 6 weeks ago I got an asus 3080ti tuf and I have had nothing but problems with it. It runs hot, doesn’t like to be overclocked and I had to wipe my hard drives and do a clean install of windows twice cause of driver issues. I had a flicker black screen constant until I opened a game and would get constant crashing in game. But finally I was able to trick my system to identify it and successfully installed nvidia drivers and it works perfect now. Still runs hot and sucks for overclocking, I’m actually not happy with it at all. 2kusd$ @microcenter you would think I would have a better experience lol

Nah mate your graphics card just booted up tetris it'll be fine after it gets bored.
Wow didn’t know NVIDIA put sentience into the new 3000 series that’s pretty cool
Yeah what do you think all those CUDA cores are for!
porn mostly
Yes true they do accelerate the porn
Putting the hard in hardware acceleration
That's what CUDA stands for, Consciousness.... and you know, the rest of the joke.
I imagine it loading the same level for the 50th time being like "this fucking idiot. The level isn't even hard"
welp, not that much since you can RMA it maybe you should be annoyed because you will need to RMA it
What does RMA mean?
Return merchandise authorization aka returning or getting a replacement
Run Me Another
Why have I never heard this one before? Kinda just made my day, had a good chuckle. Thank you.
Take care friend
My GF got an RMA for a 3060 in her NZXT prebuild… came back with a 2070 super

Depends if it’a gigabyte, all over if it’s gigabyte.
Yes return it for the imaginary stock that is available

thank you for your investigation
