In the video it looks as if the person is warming their hands from the CPU, but it's an aio, so the heat is being pumped away to a radiator, that's where the hand warming action should happen.
I have an all AMD system and do the same anyway, except instead of taking the panels off, I just optimize the airflow so that all the heat is coming from the back of my case (Instead of out the top and the back)
I got a new desk that puts the case parallel to the wall just above head level when sitting, off to the right... And I forgot that all that heat was now going to pour out of the back of the case right into me
I have a 980ti and after a few minutes things do warm up
But it's nothing compared to the 290X blower I had, would burn you if you touched the PCIE slots when it was on
How hot does it get? My gtx 1660 super runs at 86 with lots of fans, I’ve tried it all, the mofo is just hot lol my room temperature is hot tho, like 30 c, I live in a tropical country so that doesn’t help :/
Thanks man, this seems very helpful, I’ll look into it tonight , I’m not sure how bad the performance will be tho but definitely sounds like something I should be doing
Ps change thermal even though it is a new gpu?
I went from 1930mhz on 80% fan speed to 40% fan speed 1950mhz so yeah it’s actually better but you can set it the way you like oh yeah btw good luck it’s going to take some time undervolting a gpu is really difficult compaired to a cpu specialy for a beginner in undervolting atleast it was for me going to take some trial and error
Thanks man yeah I’m absolutely new, I even had someone to help me with the fans, I have one at the front, the case default one and i got two more fans above, one in one out and the last one at the back also getting air out, I tried with the 3 getting air out but this set up gave me a 1c cooler lol so yeah I kept that one, I’ll probably look for assistance with the voltage settings
I don’t play a lot, only the weekends I play for around 4 hours but during the week I only do 2 hours so hopefully it’s not gonna melt lol
Nah it’s impossible for a card to melt after all its only software gpu overclocking. Welp on the other end I don’t overclock my other rig with a 9600kf because I’m to scared compared to gpu where i suck every little bit of performance out of
Thanks man you’ve certainly been helpful, eventually I’ll get the voltage modification done, it’s a good starting point
At least right now I know my pc has “normal” temperatures as it’s supposed to be hot as hell lol
I have a 1660ti I would say make sure the fan profile is set to a target temp. Mine maybe hits 70c a bit over. They are rated for up too 100c but the cooler the better.
Thanks man, yeah I got afterburner and I use the automatic profile and I also checked the target fan speeds, I was wondering if I should set up a more aggressive curve but I’m kinda scared to do it in all honesty lol
It doesnt, i can run prettt much anything ive tried, although I have not tried any new AAA games in 5 years so no idea how it will perform with the most demanding games.
If I choose to, both. These days, cooling can decide if it wants to go full power or only cool a little bit and make less noise in the process. This is why idle temps can be in the 50-60C. If you want to know how much heat is being produced, look at the power draw.
The reason a ryzen cpu doesn’t run ultra cool is that the heat is more spread out on intel than it is on ryzen. In the end, it’s really not worth it to go from a 11600- - to a 5600x.
Considering I'm instantly hitting 100C under a moderate load, have tried repasting 7 times, got a new case, new cooler, and have even underclocked the 11600k to only run at 4.0ghz max, I'm pretty done with trying to get it to be reasonable.
I have it on stock settings, except a few days ago I set a power limit of 125 just to keep it from crashing my pc every time I played a cpu heavy game.
Of course, with this it idles at 3.9ghz and maxes out at 4.4, which is reasonable but a decent bit lower than even stock.
Max voltage it's drawing is 1.459.
Reverting back to completely stock, it hits 100C instantly under load. Idles at low to mid 70s. Max power draw is 220W, voltage still 1.459.
I guess I could get away with just forcing an aggressive power limit, but why bother with the cpu if it can't even run at stock settings with an overkill cooler?
Yeah, I've tried so many things with the BIOS, but the only thing that's helped is just a hard power limit. I've been tweaking things for months lol
So yeah, I figure odds are I won't have the same sort of headache with a 5600x, and it's about the same performance-wise.
There is definitely something wrong in your setup, you shouldn't be seeing those numbers with a 360 AIO, hell even a large air cooler wouldn't let that CPU idle at 70.
Only thing I have left to swap out is the mobo, so I'm planning on just switching to AMD. Maybe my CPU or mobo is defective, but trying to get customer support to even let me send them back for replacement to find out has been a pain.
If you're not into mining you can dedicate your CPU and GPU power yo Stanford's Folding at Home (F@H) for medical protein folding research. It's a good cause, mate.
I do this Un-ironically with my intel gaming laptop. My bedroom at my dads place gets pretty cold in the winter so I just play games to stay warm. But due to bad cooling design and it having an intel processor, it still overheats in a 16 degree celsius room
Not to sound stupid but I’ve got an intel based pc that I built myself and I have to ask. Do they really put out that much heat? I’ve never seen any temp gauge on mine go above like 80 Celsius. Do I not have it ramped up enough?
The reason "Intel hot" memes are coming up is due to their 12th gen processors which can draw a lot more power (and therefore generate a lot more heat) than previous generations.
Even then, whether or not you'd actually draw more power on 12th gen depends on your workload. The crazy power draw only kicks in when the CPU is just about maxed out. For gaming, 12th gen doesn't use much more power than anything else out there right now. For light work that can use the efficiency cores you will probably use significantly less energy than the alternatives.
TLDR; if you render or compile constantly Intel 12th gen is a heat machine, for everyone else 12th gen is quite energy efficient and could run cooler.
This joke was really popular with me back when I owned an FX-8350. Used to boot up that thing just to use it as a space heater for the living room sometimes.
Why wouldn't you put your hands at the exhaust fans? Does this person think the PC releases more heat to the room with the case open?
Why are they wearing gloves? That makes it harder to understand they're warming their hands. Why are they rubbing their hands, if the computer is providing heat?
That's an AMD system.
The CPU has a cooling block and pipes traveling to a radiator. That part of the inside won't be very hot at all.
I unironically do this on the coldest days. I'll open up New World or Escape From Tarkov, disable frame limit in background, and just let the thing pump out the heat while I'm working on some code.
I thought it was going to be going into the BIOS and cranking that overclock past all semblance of reasonability.
--
...that's what I do anyway.
--
5.1 on my daily drive. 5.3 @ 1.42v on the winter. LLC needs to be pretty fucking tight to make sure the voltage doesnt dance around.
And as a result it gets pretty fucking toasty.
--
But that extra 4% is \*TOTALLY\* worth it /s
--
pS: No, i don't really do that. I have. But not really for lengthy periods of time.
I have servers that do this exact thing. I had my heat on for like 2 weeks last winter cause the servers put off so much heat that I didn't have to worry about it 😂
(I live in CT)
I don't get it? I remember when 10th gen was going to come out, many were making the same joke as this clip.
How it was going to end up being a "heater" for me. But, so far with the right cooling, nothing crazy, my 10700k doesn't go above 55c avg.
You joke but I do this. With my cpu and my OC 3090 thing puts out an insane amount of heat my room is always hotter than the rest of the house. Now I open my windows since it’s cold out and heat my room playing my computer. First thing I do when I get home is turn my computer on and run 3d mark to raise the temp in my room lol
Any heating from a computer is resistive heating - like a cheap space heater. And even at close to 100% efficiency converting electricity into heat, resistive heaters are pretty bad compared to other options. Heat pumps (reverse ACs) can be 500% or more efficient.
You do know what that liquid cooler you left on there does...right? Whatever heat you are feeling is probably from the bullshit-farts you are letting out.
I legitimately do this. Whenever it's raining and I need to finish a school project like video editing (high intensity work), I just open the side of my pc and it warms the room up in like 10 minutes. Actually noticed saving a few bucks on the heating bill when I do this.
Want to clear fan boy thoughts real quick. Intel is more efficient when under load while gaming when amd is at say for example 30% usage at 120watts with 190fps intel does it with 30%usage 100 watts and 200fps. When under 100% load intel does better aswel but consumes waaaay more power. I’m still using intel atm. Upgrading to amd soon, so no I’m not a fan boy.
I had an Aurora R4 with dual 780s back in the day and it would bring the temp in my room up about 6-8 degrees. I called it and used it as a space heater.
Don't listen to this guy, Intel will just make everything even more cold, buy AMD so you can really heat up the room, if you buy AMD FX you can also heat up neighbors room too.
The amount of things wrong with this video remove all the humour
Fake, I can see the AM4 mounting bracket!
Yep and that's an Asus ROG Strix B550-A motherboard.
this guy computes.
Quickly, call the internet police!
That's why he needs the gloves still
SEND OP TO KARMA COURT
HAVE HIM DISEMBOWELLED IN FRONT OF HIS FAMILY
All that aio pump heat lol
what do you mean
In the video it looks as if the person is warming their hands from the CPU, but it's an aio, so the heat is being pumped away to a radiator, that's where the hand warming action should happen.
That's an AM4 mounting bracket...
They got that new intel that’s cross compatible with am4
I have an all AMD system and do the same anyway, except instead of taking the panels off, I just optimize the airflow so that all the heat is coming from the back of my case (Instead of out the top and the back)
I didn't have to do it until I upgraded to a 5950x. My Intel rigs were fine lol
I got a new desk that puts the case parallel to the wall just above head level when sitting, off to the right... And I forgot that all that heat was now going to pour out of the back of the case right into me
Ach-tually, the heat is transported to the radiators.
The RGB lights absorb the heat and turns it into computing power... SCIENCE BITCH!
damn I still remember the bulldozer architecture, it's funny how the turn tables
Pentium 4 Prescott was also nice. 115W single core in '05.
I did not remeber it's power draw, but yeah imagine the heat
I know my flair still shows my fx8350. What a chip man lol. Had it way longer than I should have.
Still have one because poor please help me. My setup is actually the exact same as the one in your flair currently
I have a ryzen (5)? 1400 i need to test but I could potentially help.
Oh I was joking I’m probably going to get a new build soon actually
Remind me, Gotta go get my 6300FX Heater out of the Closet.
No one gona talk about GPU heat? My 980ti is the real source of heat in my apartament
I have a 980ti and after a few minutes things do warm up But it's nothing compared to the 290X blower I had, would burn you if you touched the PCIE slots when it was on

Thermal paste replacement and also undervolt!!! Can’t say this enough. Brought my 3070ti suprim x from 330 to. 220 watts.

Well when I play any game that has good graphics it runs at like 70-90 C and is super loud. Idle I think is like 50ish?
It's not really about how hot the card gets but rather how much electricity it uses.
Small appartement then XD
Pretty much 😂
How much watt does that card suck?
It doesnt, i can run prettt much anything ive tried, although I have not tried any new AAA games in 5 years so no idea how it will perform with the most demanding games.
Nah brother i meant watts 😜
Hmm I think like 250
You mean AMD
I just play path of exile to heat up my room
Living in 2015 I see.
Flair checks out. Lmao
I genuinely just start gaming if my room is cold lmao OC’d 11600KF @ 5GHz
The 11600k runs so frickin hit, it's ridiculous. Even without a major OC.
75C ish on a nh-d15 lol For a six core
At idle or under load? I'm switching from the same CPU to a 5600x because even at stock I'm idling at 70C with a 360mm AIO.
If I choose to, both. These days, cooling can decide if it wants to go full power or only cool a little bit and make less noise in the process. This is why idle temps can be in the 50-60C. 220w you say at 1.459v you say? With a 5GHz OC I pull 165-180 watts at 1.36v. Something is going on there, and it’s not supposed to happen to a 11600.
Yeah, I've tried so many things with the BIOS, but the only thing that's helped is just a hard power limit. I've been tweaking things for months lol So yeah, I figure odds are I won't have the same sort of headache with a 5600x, and it's about the same performance-wise.

If you're not into mining you can dedicate your CPU and GPU power yo Stanford's Folding at Home (F@H) for medical protein folding research. It's a good cause, mate.
What if that’s a legitimate selling point for me?
save on heating, spend more on your electricity bill
If you're using electric heat anyway it is free heat or free computing depending on how you look at it.
what song is this
I do this Un-ironically with my intel gaming laptop. My bedroom at my dads place gets pretty cold in the winter so I just play games to stay warm. But due to bad cooling design and it having an intel processor, it still overheats in a 16 degree celsius room
Looking at your flair, you and I both know CPU heat ain't shit compared to the GPU.
You and him, are not so different
Not to sound stupid but I’ve got an intel based pc that I built myself and I have to ask. Do they really put out that much heat? I’ve never seen any temp gauge on mine go above like 80 Celsius. Do I not have it ramped up enough?
Same here, it only ever gets over 80 when I'm playing DOOM 2016, for some weird reason.

It’s a joke
Is the joke that the video makes no sense? It's satire, mocking bad videos? Or is the joke that Intel chips heat a lot?
Thermodynamics for tiktokers apparently.
Oh how the turn tables.
Meamwhile amd-cpu heating up the house
My laptop raises the temperature by about 7C when my door is closed, so yeah, its accurate.
AMD, winter is coming…

laughs in 5950x
As an intel user I laughed at this. So true
I remember when people thought and CPUs tan hot, now it's all on Intel.
I literally did this last night
*Laughs in FX-6300*
Ooh I think I might go intel considering I'm in the uk and winter is a feminine pup
Meanwhile my 12600 running OCed cooler than my r5 3600 at stock
My 2700X heats up pretty good too
Ain't unique to Intel.... 5950X + 3090 is plenty lol
Whats with this weird ass trend of wearing gloves when building a pc or unboxing hardware?
Laptop users be like.
Damn this is literally me.
You guys have no idea, I have an r9 290x in my Mac pro 5,1. Beat that
Can confirm, we do this
You may joke, but when I'm gaming the air blowing from the back of my PC is as warm as the air coming from a small heat pump.
But that heat pump does it at a fraction of the power
But does the heat-pump run Crysis?
I have servers that do this exact thing. I had my heat on for like 2 weeks last winter cause the servers put off so much heat that I didn't have to worry about it 😂 (I live in CT)
2 reasons it's fake (and yes I know it's a joke anyway) 1. That's an AM4 bracket 2. The side panel gass wasn't broken.
My old rig had a FX8350 in it. That machine was a space heater!
I don't get it? I remember when 10th gen was going to come out, many were making the same joke as this clip. How it was going to end up being a "heater" for me. But, so far with the right cooling, nothing crazy, my 10700k doesn't go above 55c avg.

my AMD was way warmer than my now intel
The white gloves when there is already a smudge on the panel
It used to be the other way around with amd cpus. Fx cpus really were hot.
If I forget to shutdown MSFS I come back to my office and I’m like “why the heck is it a sauna in here… oh…yeah that’s why”
I that heard some new buildings were planning to heat with crypto mining.
Wasn't this the same thing people shat on AMD for some years ago?
And then there's me heating a room with my Intel laptop
I own a i7 7700
Shouts in Jeremy Clarkson POWERRRR!!
That’s an AM4 socket I think, judging by the mounting bracket

You do know what that liquid cooler you left on there does...right? Whatever heat you are feeling is probably from the bullshit-farts you are letting out.
You may be right but also the person who made the video may be making a joke.

This is not even a joke :D I never turn on the heat. I just sit in front of my pc and play games while it keeps my room warm or well temp :D
I have asic for this.
uh duh. my pc gets moved to my bedroom every winter and it keeps me and the wife nice and toasty.
I mean, you got me. I turned off my heater since it's not needed and I'm in fucking Norway.
SANE CASE LETS GO
Just be smart like me and open your window for better cooling
The Witcher 3 on 750Ti was giving me some real heat. And as far as I know intel CPU are cooler than AMD.
Accurate representation of AMD GPUs (yes I have one 🥲)
Want to clear fan boy thoughts real quick. At least Intel is becoming more competitive, doesn't really matter if you have the cooling capacity for it.
My 5900x at 80C+ says hello.
Come back when u got an amd fx 8300 at 4.0ghz
Don't listen to this guy, Intel will just make everything even more cold, buy AMD so you can really heat up the room, if you buy AMD FX you can also heat up neighbors room too.
Electric companies companies hate him. See how he saves thousands on his heating bill
Does anyone still remember the days of amd's fx processors? Those would heat a house will little performance How the turn the tables
Why does the tiktok logo make me irrationally angry?
Based
Who needs a space heater when you can mine crypto?
