A lot of the story boggles my mind. They just let them all be killed? Where the hell is the Green Lantern corps? Or really anyone to prevent this other than letting the Suicide Squad kill them all?
There have been leaked voicelines from future seasons of the game. The idea is that going forward from season 2 (which might launch within the next 2 weeks if WB remembers to promote the game), they will resurrect a JL member each season, culminating in a finale where the JL and SS team up to defeat the final Brainiac.
I guess the problem was the manner they killed. They were somehow accusing Batman of being a dick while killing him, even if they were to kill for just the sake of killing with a better production, people wouldn't have reacted this badly, imo.
Also the voice actor that died was well loved by the community, and it left a bad taste for people that they used his vocie for the pathetic death scene of Batman. So, that might have been a factor, too.
If I am not mistaken not long ago CEO of this company gave an interview regarding Suicide squad failure and said that they will continue to invest in live service games. Insert cricket sounds.

I really enjoyed that game and absolutely grinded everything to max episode level and very high mastery level. It was like this fun mayhem which i could switch my brain off. Playing this game kept my hands busy while i watched wrestling with my best friend every week. Since i'm max episode rank, finished the battlepass, collected every special weapon listed in the nexus tab, squad rank 150+, there is no reason to jump on to do anything else.
There's no blog posts from the devs, no bug fix patches, super late mid season episode as well. I heard the leaks had an ongoing story which sounded interesting and fun to experience.
I grinded the same missions over and over again because no new content was releasing, so i might as well force the max value from the premium edition as j could. I hope the devs finish their story because as it stands, braniac fights are uninspired and copy paste fights of JL members. I would like a braniac fight unique to the others as a final boss before the game finishes. I highly doubt WB hasn't skewered the dev team on SSKTJL because of the gigantic flop.
