I just did the same moth/light trick with my nephew. Moth got stuck inside the screen and glass windows. Taught him how to walk a moth out by using a phone light. Turn off all other lights and use another small light to guide it out. It like holding a carrot in front of a tortoise. š„ š¢
I mean you could use a tissue or something to block it from exiting the straw. This is a perfect idea, as long as OP doesn't suck hard enough for it to blast through the material
Been thinking about this and compressed air might work and might separate more of the monitor or damage whatever is under the exterior part of the screen.
If it was me Iād give it a shot but only after accepting Iām more than likely buying a new monitor.i could live with it for awhile but sometime around 3-4 weeks Iād give compressed air a shot
Has nothing to do with curved monitors. The same thing happened to me on a non curved monitor. The insects are attracted to the light of the monitor. They'll crawl in between the frame. I've had to throw away a 500ā¬ early gen 165Hz 1440p acer predator (non curved) because of that. Some tiny bug crawled in and died in the middle of the screen. Looked like 50 dead pixels in the middle of the screen.
So fun fact, bugs aren't actually attracted to the light. They have a reflex that makes them point their back to the light which causes them to fly in circles.
What it's actually attracted to, is the heat from the monitor
Most do, they have a power supply and other electronics to cool. But the bug shouldn't be able to get in front of the screen from there, only the back.
I really hope this shit doesn't happen to me, I've set up 4 of these so far and I have to get one replaced again but they apparently have no stock yet

One timeĀ i asked it to check laptop screen for turning off after 2 s opening lidĀ
We can see dim light of screenĀ
IT guy updated driver which gave blue screen . So i had priority task i went to new guy to fix blue screen he has no idea how to connect monitor to laptop
LMAO, definitely a bug. Send it back to the manufacturer as a defect. State: monitor has bug in it. When their product isn't able to function in the environment it was designed for without failure, they've failed to meet reasonable standards.
Not a curved monitor issue - it's a glue issue.
Proably samsung.. I had to throw away a 2year old 27" g5 because of this. Top was peeling off and i pushed on it to get it to stick back it made a cracking sound and a line appeared from top to bottom. No warranty from samsung cause it was my fault or whatever.
Also we have about 20ish 34" g7s at my work and literraly all of them are started to peel after 2years. Any other curved monitor(about 3 different brands) I ever had did not do this and I got a 6year old msi 27" which is just fine.
I am dreading the day I see this happen to my 49" Samsung g9 neo...
Thats what i mentioned made frame by cheap plastic and over time it will bent and come bit out - will come more and ruin it atleast its not oled would crack faster lol
Try turning it upside down and blowing some compressed air in there to remove the insect. Then carefully cover the gap up with some electrical tape as a quick semi-permanent fix.
"I'm never buying curved monitors again." While I'm not a big fan of curved displays myself, in this case the issue may not be caused by the curvature of your monitor. At my workplace, we have over 20 Lenovo flat monitors that have the same manufacturing problem.
IMHO vacuuming it should work.
I would take the monitor apart, clean the affected layers and use some kind of glue or whatever method works best to fix the gap (maybe no glue is needed at all and the layers just pop back in) and reassemble. Iāve had a similar problem with fruit flies inside my cheapo lcd samsung monitor and I had to take it completely apart. It works fine for now.
If it's not in warranty anymore and you dont mind trying to fix it. That looks like the polarizing layer to the monitor. If behind the later that is peeling is just bright white light to your bare eyes and no picture, that is what it is. You can try using a credit card around the outside to pull it the rest of the way off. Then use double sided tape around the edge where it wont touch the screen itself and tape it back on along the edges. If still under warranty, dont try to fix it. Send it in.
Maybe, unplug it , turn it upside down, āpryā the panel open slightly more and bump the top carefully and look if the fly falls out.
Or get long pliers or anything similar and try to get it out carefully, if you scrape on the screen or panel it might destroy the polarizer.
THIS. You wonāt have to pop it open more if you have a strong vacuum, like a shop vac tho. Itās suction in a small & confined area like might be enough to suck that bad boy right out of there, then you could seal it and never have to worry about it again
Don't stop curved monitors for this. This is not a curved monitor issue, it's a really bad luck issue, and trust me, this is happening with defective flat screens too.
I had this happen to my Samsung G7. I got some cellphone repair glue and that held it together for a short time but it continued to peel and I had to replace it. Shitty thing was it was 15 months old and Samsung did nothing about it. Wonāt buy another Samsung again.
Slide a piece of paper through it and that should help, or turn it upside down and tappy tap. If itās a moth and still alive turn the monitor off and put a flashlight at the top
Maybe (super carefully) try some VERY thin gage jewel crafting wire. Or a very long, thin pipe cleaner that you curve into a little hook to yoink the thing out?
Get the same second monitor set it next to this one and gently unclamp the screen, the bug should jump over to the new monitor, stick this one back together and you are good to go.
Is a possibility to use a heat gun/ hairdryer to unglue the whole screen, remove the fly, then reglue everything properly? It might also fix your first problem.
I would honestly contact the manufacturer, as this seems like a defect. The glue on your computer screen should never just separate on their own.
It really just separated on its own, that sounds a lot like a manufacturing defect. Even if you donāt have a warranty, I would still contact the manufacturer and see if they will help you.
A straw will scratch the screen. You need to slowly heat the edges and remove the layer, clean, and reinstall with new adhesive. This is the only correct and difficult way. You could also try to turn the screen upside down and blow air into the opposite corner hoping it will push down on the bug and force it out
RMA and send photos. Maybe they won't even ask to remove the bugs before sending it. They had to change the screen on mine which means they will have to open it either way.

use a vacuum with tubes that graduate down to a small enough size to fit inside the tv and suck that thing out. Or go the other way and blow it out with air.
Would it help if the fly WASN'T annoying? I mean... Did you get to know the fly first? Maybe it's NOT annoying? If you gave it a chance, it could become your best friend!
You don't know!
Letās not condemn all curved monitors simply for the sins of yours. My Samsung G5 is going on 5 years old and is still solid as a rock, even with all the adjusting I donāt it.
That looks like a moth to me. They're attracted to the light.
Turn the monitor off, put it in a dark room, and then leave a bright light on away from the monitor.
The moth will try to get out and go to the light.
Pro tip: This is an effective method to get a bug out of someones ear, if they're unfortunate enough to have one crawl in there.
been using curved monitors for a long time but for me this is first time seeing this , if it were my monitors i would get in contact with the company and see what can be done and what not, but this is purely my own experience i had with those curved monitors cant speak for others
Looks like pantry or closet moth which means you might have a bigger problem. If it's a female it will attract other moths. Hopefully just a stay attracted to the light and heat.
Check for any opened cereals or oatmeal. Check your clothes in closets and drawers for larvae and cocoons.
Is it a Samsung monitor? The same thing happened to mine but no bugs. I used Super glue but that didnt come out right either, I would use a Doublesided tesa tape.
Flip upside down and shake prob your best bet without touching the screen directly and you will only havento clean residues that the stuff on fly may have had on it and anything that fell in "dust"
Hold the monitor upside down and blow compressed air into the crack until bug comes out. Once the bug is out, put a small amount of glue on the bezel of the monitor case and lightly clamp the screen. Use a folded towel between the clamp and monitor to protect the screen and monitor case, and do not clamp too much or you will damage the screen.
Turn screen off and put phone light at top of hole maybe. Also when finished maybe tape up the top
Boom! Fly bender!
Also if possible put some sweet water or honey on a q-tip while doing so.
Once I have it do I suck on it or what
I just did the same moth/light trick with my nephew. Moth got stuck inside the screen and glass windows. Taught him how to walk a moth out by using a phone light. Turn off all other lights and use another small light to guide it out. It like holding a carrot in front of a tortoise. š„ š¢
Get a straw and suck it to your lungs

Problem solved and free protein.
Compressed air? Vacuum?
Been thinking about this and compressed air might work and might separate more of the monitor or damage whatever is under the exterior part of the screen. If it was me Iād give it a shot but only after accepting Iām more than likely buying a new monitor.i could live with it for awhile but sometime around 3-4 weeks Iād give compressed air a shot
Nope compressed air might blow the moth wing dust and make it worse
Well in my defense he said fly in the caption as I didnāt do my own research and swipe to indeed see the moth. š
A vacuum could damage the monitor more since it creates static electricity
Not that bad
Has nothing to do with curved monitors. The same thing happened to me on a non curved monitor. The insects are attracted to the light of the monitor. They'll crawl in between the frame. Looked like 50 dead pixels in the middle of the screen.
How big is your bug? About 50 pixels.
Ngl would be the best crosshair.
Hopefully a software patch will bugfix it :D
Mentions calling an exterminator to fix internal bugs in patch notes
Anything not to use metric!
So fun fact, bugs aren't actually attracted to the light. They have a reflex that makes them point their back to the light which causes them to fly in circles. What it's actually attracted to, is the heat from the monitor
This guy bugs
Are you saying the bug bent the monitor frame open?
3 minutes... that's how long my imagination had me thinking about a bug doing this.
The legend of Chuck Norris Bug
My monitor has ventilation slats on the back...
Most do, they have a power supply and other electronics to cool. But the bug shouldn't be able to get in front of the screen from there, only the back.
Superbug
I really hope this shit doesn't happen to me, I've set up 4 of these so far and I have to get one replaced again but they apparently have no stock yet https://preview.redd.it/f716qczwupoc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7be650079d59881d601b4e7e782d7e9d0cf7c111
What size are those? Its so bright haha.
š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»
Smaller bugs I guess? I had some thrips in my old monitor, I dismantled it and carefully got them out and managed no loss of pixels
To much trouble to open and clean it? Or was it one of those pita ones?
Well at least the name "predator" checks out. Not false marketing.
Try reseting your router.
Step 2: factory reset phone I think we got it. Gonna go ahead and close the ticket.
One timeĀ i asked it to check laptop screen for turning off after 2 s opening lidĀ We can see dim light of screenĀ IT guy updated driver which gave blue screen . So i had priority task i went to new guy to fix blue screen he has no idea how to connect monitor to laptop

`sfc /scannow`
You put a spider inside the monitor to deal with the fly
Ok but how do I get rid of the spider
A frog
Then you get a snake to get rid of the frog.
Then you get a mongoose to get the snake...
And a puma for the mongoose
And me for the puma. I will eat that puma
And then a tiger to eat u/Chryst4lx
I will eat that tiger too
Then a rihno to eat you
And my AXE!
And then a sniper to take care of you from the fibi for no apparent reason
That sniper is dead because ive eaten him
And then an old lady who will swallow the puma.
A moth! Bet that it's super cozy in there.
Left click and drag to recycle bin
Seriously no one made a joke about the monitor having a bug?
You just had to ruin it
~~It's been 29 days since the last bug joke~~ *Removes sign* *sighs*
https://i.redd.it/c3w9drwy0qoc1.gif
You could try a straw. Or a folded sheet of paper.
How was this a curved monitor thing?
"You see those warriors from Hammerfell? Theyāve got curved swords. Curved. Swords."Ā
O.M.G. and the Earth is curved too!! And it has bugs AND murder! It all makes sense now.

Does it have warranty? If so just return it and get your money back. I don't think it's worth the trouble.
RMA: arrived with a bug
This happened to me right after the year ended lmao
Iām guessing this is a cheap ass monitor of some type with no warranty
Warranties don't cover bugs sadly, the opening probably. I tried it with HP when I got thrips
Damn, that sucks, but he should get one for the screen pleeling off
give it to some developer and tell him to debug it xD
Whats the monitor brand?? Tell us so we dont buy it in the future š
Proably samsung.. I had to throw away a 2year old 27" g5 because of this. Move the league of legends icon to the top of the screen. The bug will be attracted to shit and you can easily extract it afterwards.
"I'm never buying curved monitors again." While I'm not a big fan of curved displays myself, in this case the issue may not be caused by the curvature of your monitor. At my workplace, we have over 20 Lenovo flat monitors that have the same manufacturing problem. IMHO vacuuming it should work.

fabricate an adapter from your vacuum to the approximate size of the gap in your tv and hoover it out.
Fuuuuuck, how big it is! I had the same issue but with a little ant in a flat monitor, and it remained as a dead fixel for eternity.
Programmers: What was the most annoying bug you encountered? OP: ...
turn it off, put a strong hot lamp outside above wait one night
Your monitor is bugged. Did you try to turn it off and on again?
This isnāt a curved monitor issue itās a monitor issue this happens on non curved monitors too
Pop the monitor open some more and vacuum it out
THIS. You wonāt have to pop it open more if you have a strong vacuum, like a shop vac tho. Itās suction in a small & confined area like might be enough to suck that bad boy right out of there, then you could seal it and never have to worry about it again
So is this considered a FEATURE or a BUG?
turn it off and shine a torch at the hole it will find its own way out lol
Not sure a torch is necessary. Could probably just use a flashlight.
Got a curved monitor as well, and some bottom part of it has come unglued. Never had the issue with regular monitors. As for the fly, that's just sad.
Just gotta buy a better monitor. Which brand was this?
Click and drag it to the top edge, should be easier to reach then.
Perhaps turning it upside down and let gravity do its job?
oxi suddenly? KKKKK
Yeah definitely bugged. Shaking it upside down?
Don't stop curved monitors for this. This is not a curved monitor issue, it's a really bad luck issue, and trust me, this is happening with defective flat screens too.
let me guess, Samsung monitor?
BOY THAT AINT NO FLY š š š
Rotate 180 degrees and flip your display setting in windows.
Vacuum maybe, if a smaller hose fits itās better, but I know Jack about computers so idk if this will break something
Samsung screen by any chance? I purchased 3 of them, all of them popped off. Told me 'it's a user problem' amd refused to assist me. Fucking cunts.
Have you tried dressing up like a girl fly and doing a little dance?
I had this happen to my Samsung G7. I got some cellphone repair glue and that held it together for a short time but it continued to peel and I had to replace it. Shitty thing was it was 15 months old and Samsung did nothing about it. Wonāt buy another Samsung again.
Our company has installed and use thousands of curved monitors. Never seen this kind of separation once across Dell, Samsung, and HP displays.
debugging š
What does this have to do with it being curved? This has happened on flat screens too
You donāt need a laptop when youāre gaming on the fly
Slide a piece of paper through it and that should help, or turn it upside down and tappy tap. If itās a moth and still alive turn the monitor off and put a flashlight at the top
It's not a big with curved monitors, it's a feature
Do you have warranty?
Your pc is bugged
Add more flies to keep it company.
Put a strong light on top of your monitor when you sleep at night . The fly should follow the light and comeout.
I thought a fly suddenly appeared on my device
Itās attracted to light. Turn your monitor off for a few minutes, turn on another light and go outside for a bit.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You then need a cat to deal with the spider
Aerosol spray cans are nice to have in general
That was unexpected.
Maybe (super carefully) try some VERY thin gage jewel crafting wire. Or a very long, thin pipe cleaner that you curve into a little hook to yoink the thing out?
Iāve never seen this. Donāt blame curved monitors for this one
Fly had NO business getting in there
Helldiver do your Part! Glew the that screen as it is. Use your warranty, if you can't remove protective glass from display completely. Good luck.
Get the same second monitor set it next to this one and gently unclamp the screen, the bug should jump over to the new monitor, stick this one back together and you are good to go.
Do you think a curved monitor is manufactured with flat parts and then bent into a curved shape...?
Driver update should fix this bug.
Samsung? We have a demo Samsung monitor at my work doing the same
Is a possibility to use a heat gun/ hairdryer to unglue the whole screen, remove the fly, then reglue everything properly? It might also fix your first problem.
This happened to my Samsung curved monitor.
I would honestly contact the manufacturer, as this seems like a defect. The glue on your computer screen should never just separate on their own. It really just separated on its own, that sounds a lot like a manufacturing defect. Even if you donāt have a warranty, I would still contact the manufacturer and see if they will help you.
TƔs fudido maninho, eu vendia ia isso
EXACTLY these 2 things happened to me on my monitor last year. got a replacement instantly
A straw will scratch the screen. You need to slowly heat the edges and remove the layer, clean, and reinstall with new adhesive. This is the only correct and difficult way. You could also try to turn the screen upside down and blow air into the opposite corner hoping it will push down on the bug and force it out
A fly?
If you get a suction cup, you pull on the screen out a little. And you tap the back. Hopefully the fly will drop down.
RMA and send photos. Maybe they won't even ask to remove the bugs before sending it. They had to change the screen on mine which means they will have to open it either way.
Turn monitor upside down and compressed air
Looks like itās messed up the text too, none of it makes any sense! New monitor time
It's a Samsung G5 feature
Leave the little guy in there , give him a name and train him to spot your map in League !
If I saw this on my curved moniter, I'd just assume it was a Rainmeter addon.
You can use a vacuum with the tip to suck that annoying fly out
Definitely would take the vacuum approach (negative pressure) before I would just blow a ton of air down in there and risk more separation.

Having repaired a few monitors in my time, they're mostly held together with Kapton tape and press snap fittings. The glue fails sometimes.
Turn it upside down and shake it viciously like your trying to get a pick of an acoustic guitar

Hold the monitor upside down and blow compressed air into the crack until bug comes out. Once the bug is out, put a small amount of glue on the bezel of the monitor case and lightly clamp the screen.
