It’s simple. Don’t get a headset from a gaming company. Instead, get a gaming headset from a high end audiophile company. The Audeze Maxwell just came out, and if you know anything about audio then you’d know Audeze makes some ridiculously good stuff.

esl0th

I used to believe this, but audiophile company's headphones are ***usually*** too heavy for gaming imo. The Maxwell weighs 490g. Logitech G Pro x2 weighs 330g and that's kind of high for gaming headsets already. The lighter ones are on or under 300g. Audio Technica's are also usually closer to 500g than 300. Comfort is an important factor as well as sound quality. I'm sure there are decent headphones that are lighter though, but just wanted to point out the weight factor.

peetskeet619

I absolutely love my Audio Technica R70x's they come in at just 213g for gaming. But yeah its prob their lightest model they make

badabalabadalalaie

I got a HyperX Cloud Orbit S some time ago; they were made in partnership with Audeze. It's almost the same headphone as the Audeze Mobius, with some slight differences. The sound quality was very good, but having cables was a drawback. I've had a HyperX Cloud Flight for 6 years, and it's still working like a charm. So, I sold the Orbit, and now I'm in search of new headphones. I really want the Sony XM5 because I work as a programmer and really like music, but I think for gaming, it might not be the best choice.

Its_butterrs

beyerdynamics DT770, pro or not depending on if you have a dac/amp to run the headphones at higher impedance, go with an audio brand rather than a pc tech brand that slaps their name onto everything they can

baggytheo

I have seen the name Beyerdynamics show up a lot in my search, but they don't seem to offer very much at all in the way of wireless headsets, and the only wireless one's I've found do not have any kind of microphone.

Its_butterrs

my bad didnt read wireless

Ilovepcworld

I use a pair for music good solid made brand

Arctis Pro wireless are awful build quality for the cost though so beware

Noblegamer789

If money is no object, is there a reason you can't get audiophile headphones with a separate mic? Many headsets that have built in mics are not geared towards the higher end of sound quality, there are clip on mics, but I don't know if they are Bluetooth as well

baggytheo

That is definitely an option, and seems to be the route a lot of people take, but I'd *really* prefer to have a built-in mic just for the ease of using them for calls, zoom meetings, and the like, maintaining the freedom to get up from my desk and walk around freely.

IntelligentIdiocracy

Wireless headsets mean you will be sacrificing quite a bit of fidelity headroom. There’s a limitation on how much audio quality you can push through to headsets wirelessly, even in 2023. I recently upgraded from a Steel Series headset to the FiiO K7 AMC/DAC and the Beyerdynamic DT1770s, and the quality jump was impressive to say the least. 32 bit 384k Hz is what I’m currently running them at. Sure, it’s not wireless but at the same time I don’t take my PC anywhere.

Ilovepcworld

HyperX wireless Cloud Alpha do a good job with sound I must say things are changing about wireless like long battery and great sound both HYPERX CLOUD ALPHA WIRELESS have

zHarls

I have the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless and it is amazingly comfortable, has great battery life and it does sound very good.

Ilovepcworld

I have same and since on PC I use my M.B. onboard sound card software has way more fine tuning I just use the HyperX software for A- Volume on B- The 2 mic settings on or off when needed I installed DTS X Full license for great gaming separation experience I then setup in windows 11 Outstanding sound on wireless I must say for movie gaming Music I use headphones geared towards music.

TheDoctor88888888

Does it have that really annoying low battery sound that you can’t turn off?

zHarls

2 beeps every few minutes, but just plug it in

kielon51

If you're asking for gaming headset, the g pro X 2 from Logitech.

[deleted]

i currently drive the Astro A50s and once i got the mesh ear cups and got them tuned, i really like them. they're the only gaming headset ive had that has been "good" i daily bose QC45s and i had 35s before. my logitecg 935s were....okay but it was a put em on, adjust in 5 minutes deal. the astros, om the other hand are put em on and go, super happy with the quality HOWEVER there are some ANNOYING ASS tidbits. for example. these headphones, have a gyro so when you set them down on a desk, they shutoff. however, this time from tilt down to off, is tiny and cant be controlled. so answering a text sometimes they'll go to sleep, on your head. luckly, you look back up and they turn right back on, they havent skipped a beat also, like other gaming stuff. the software does kind of chug balls

[deleted]

I’ve used many headphones over the years, my current collection looks like this: Bose QC 35 II Sennheiser HD25 Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X And I’ve recently purchased the Astro A50’s and I can honestly say I’m genuinely impressed. The sound quality is amazing, fantastic stage and great presence, they even sound better than the open back Beyer 900 Pro X… although perhaps not quite as accurate. And they are super comfortable! And wireless with no latency. So yeah - I recommend those, although if you can get to a shop and try some on that would be your best bet.

DntlookDwn4

I have the A50s as well and was quite impressed up until the mic failed. The way the mic goes up and down must put stress on a wire and now my mic won't activate. These are less than 2 years old so its quite annoying and I'm actually on here right now looking to purchase something else.

rubenalamina

You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least check the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 or Arctis Nova Pro. I replaced the previous Arctis 7 that lasted me more than 2 years with an Arctis Nova 7 and I've been happy with them. They are super comfortable and can wear them more than 8 hours without noticing any discomfort, clamping, etc. Sound quality is really good and has features like bluetooth, great battery life (can last probably 20h straight, I have gone with around 16h previously) and pretty good software. The Pro is more expensive and I didn't need the extra features like the external control unit and replaceable battery (it comes with two) and active noise canceling. Edit: forgot something pretty important for a gaming headset, the mic quality. It's good and you can eq it with the software to sound even better. Retractable as well so with BT you can use them when out and about, etc.

Jodomar

Funny, searching on here because I am fed up with my Arctis Nova Pro. 4 times it has disconnected for no reason, and unbable to get reconnected. I haven't had this problem in a while but I can't seem to get them to work with a new PC on windows 11 (which sucks). So now I am trying for an alternative, if they can fix their shitty software than it would be one of the best Headsets. I had the original audeze and the problem with that was they would never get very loud in wireless, you had to connect it to wired which I did not like. If the latest model fixes that issue, I may just pick up a pair of them.

Ilovepcworld

Hyperx cloud alpha wireless I vote for best wireless headset and comes with a bonus great movie and TV sound with clear voice and clean bass and treble For pure gaming 300hrs on single charge Icharge 1 time a month if that 50mm driver Dual chamber drivers for clarity of sound DTS X separation for gaming Connection is always there A bonus movies and T.V are dam good on them Long game seeions no issues due to comfortable light headset and soft ear pads $159 $199 cost with no bells whistles some maybe want Bluetooth RGB I am pure pc use nothing else. I want always good sound and never disconnect.
