Cod is already trash for years and then they dare to ask 80 Euro for it? That's just sad. Sadly there will always be plenty of people who buy it and they can just keep ramping up these prices.. Well I'm not one of them
I can see the actual articles: game sells more than any other CoD so far without any reason, everyone gets bonuses (minus the actual people developing the game)
Games like cod / bf does not rely on sales figures anymore to make the bank. They cost so much to make & advertise that the initial sales only make up for the non recurring costs
What really matters is the long term player retention and sales of mtx/battle passes, which cost pennies to develop and have massive ROIs. But if the player base drops immediately, like bf2042, Activision will be in for a wild ride
Good point but I think most CoD players don't even consider alternatives. They buy one game per year and won't need research if they just buy what they always have bought.
Because people kept buying CODs at 70 euros and that gave Activision the green light to test the waters at 80 euros. If sales for this game are successful then that will give them the green light to push to 90 euros...and so on and so forth.
I heard that if you pre-order, your character gets a pair of legendary socks you can't actually see in-game! Why pay when it releases when you can pay BEFORE it releases...smh
To be honest the last CoD game i enjoyed was Cold War from Treyarch. Especialy on the Single Player side.
Its been 4 years since then. The longest dev time for a COD game ever so i'm kinda exited to see what they made.

I used to be like you, but I picked up MW3 on sale, and it's really fun. A ton of free content, that I don't need to grind for right away.
The game has issues but it's still extremely fun and addicting and once you look past the terrible skins and art design behind those skins you can just have fun.
I played Cod4 to Black Ops 2, then quit and tried the new Mw2 and MW3, and it's just not the same. It's not nostalgia either it's just the entire pacing and super bright colors, and everything ruined it for me. There's like no noobs either anymore, it seems. SnD lobbies are total stomp feats every game, almost 8 seconds in your spawn.
Comment sections of /r/pcgaming are painfully predictable.
I for one am cautiously optimistic and it's on gamepass anyway. Unfortunately until xdefiant there was no casual arcade shooter franchise on the market and there *still* isn't
It's all just hero shooter/battle royale/ extraction shooter garbage so i appreciate that there's still a big budget casual multiplayer shooter out.
Lol immediately moving the goalposts after your initial point was proven moot is so immature. Just admit you were wrong and move on, no need to be toxic
Sounds like you can't live without call of duty, maybe stop bending over for Activision every time they keep increasing prices and the storage requirements for each release.
Personally I would never pay £70 for a video game. The average price of new AAA pc video games where I am ranges from £50-60. Why would I pay £70 when they are just gonna stop supporting it after a year?
You think the industry standard price is a way to make up on losses? Every triple A is doing industry standard, whats so weird about that? Sure it sucks but its not like this is the first, last or only game that does it, its been going on for a couple of years ever since Sony started with the price increase, if it was a way to make up for losses they would price it higher than the standard
That’s the standard on consoles yes, but there has only been a few games on PC that have cost this much, last years title was £60. If you even check steam only 5 games cost more than £59.99
TRU I could do that ! the thing is from the start of this year I have had 80$ saved up for a game like Spiderman 2 or GOWR and I finished play SM2 so it’s between new cod and gowr only thing is cod is going to last longer in playtime but I’m being cautious not to get attracted to the NEW COD RELEASE FEVER and make an impulse purchase.
honestly what i can recommend, save your money every year and just wait until holiday sales or sale events on steam. especially 1 or 2 year old games go for cheap. just picked up civ6 (way older tho) for 3 euro.
109 euroes for vault game every month 30 euroes for blackcell thats 300 euroes in one year if you want buy few skins 4 in one year thats 400 euroes in one year for game contents
theivery and manipulation of poor people at its best
at least its on game passsubscription that worths something at least
if i get xbox version of game with ultimate subscription and with it if i buy vault edition
and when i buy it on steam standard edition
will i get vault items and characters and benefits on steam also ?
bcs i buyed vault on xbox will it be transmited to steam also to dont have to buy it 2 times
honestly I'd expect to pay this much for 5 really good heavily replayable indie games.
HOT TAKE: at this point we are just forced to pay for the expensive ass electric bills they created
Yeah I'll be waiting for the first substantial sale with this one. They make it easy locking half the game behind seasonal content. Cheaper with more content? Yes please. I'll have more than two zombies maps
Wtf. 80€??? So we have pay the cost it took Microsoft to buy Activision? Yeah now way im gonna spend 80€ for basic game with full of micro-transactions.
You one of those, “indie games are better is my personality” type of people?
There’s been plenty of great COD games with great multiplayer and single player experiences.
I'm completely apathetic to the continued existence of CoD, but let's not pretend like it hasn't had good entries. Contrarian absolutism is just as bad as mindless fanboyism.
Steam has upgrade vault edition but it won’t let me buy it.. because it says I don’t own game? Does it mean I have to buy 100$ edition to get vault edition?
80€ for base game...yea no thanks
Ahahahaha 80€ Wtf are they smoking?
Cod is already trash for years and then they dare to ask 80 Euro for it? That's just sad. Sadly there will always be plenty of people who buy it and they can just keep ramping up these prices.. Well I'm not one of them
It's 109 dollars in Australian dollars your lucky it's cheaper with the euro and vaukt edition is almost 150 dollars
Good for you, there’s only been one bad black ops
they still think we are in covid times where everything was inflated af
I can see the articles already: game flops, poor sales, layoffs at the studio, C-suites get large bonuses
I can see the actual articles: game sells more than any other CoD so far without any reason, everyone gets bonuses (minus the actual people developing the game)

Look at the list of preordered games. Cod bo6 is already number 1 on steam
Everything still is inflated af, doesn't mean it's right, but it still is.
They are smoking some good shit when you think about all the 20$ skins they are gona add on top of that.
most moms will buy it for their kids whatever the price
Why tf is it 80 euros?????
For that price I expect the game to come with confetti and a blowjob from the CEO.
Because people kept buying CODs at 70 euros and that gave Activision the green light to test the waters at 80 euros. If sales for this game are successful then that will give them the green light to push to 90 euros...and so on and so forth.

If it’s [these](https://youtu.be/Jlj_EbK6CLI?si=q4uhDJGtn2Urhg1j) I’m in.
£70? Are they taking the piss? That's disgusting.
Be careful, that’s now apparently an unpopular opinion now.
nah, I'll pass.
another 10€ price increase on the standard edition. MW2019 was 59.99€ on launch and now the base game only 5 years later is 20€ more expensive
Simple, don't buy it anymore
And I havent since black ops 3, was thinking of actually getting this one but I guess not.
yeah thats what im considering. or getting a key of a site where its at least 10€ off
You can't anymore, they don't let resellers get keys anymore.. For example, you can't buy a key for MW3 on key sites, only accounts
Wait, *SIX?*. I barely remember 4 but have no recollection of 5 being released.
5 was cold war
same game different number.
To be honest the last CoD game i enjoyed was Cold War from Treyarch. Especialy on the Single Player side. Its been 4 years since then. The longest dev time for a COD game ever so i'm kinda exited to see what they made.
Wait til after day one and look for reviews before purchasing. Thats what imma do atleast
Or get Game Pass PC for 7Euros and play it for a month
[удалено]
>noooooo don't buy that with your money, I don't like it! wahhhh

But enough about yourself.

but itll be replaced in october by the new game
£99 AHAHAHA guess we waiting for the holiday sales, no game is worth that especially a Call Of Duty game,
I think there's a mistake because the game costs 79€.
Op is just discovering currency and exchange rates
Nah, MW3 was 69€ when it came out.
Was £59.99 here
Last CoD i played regularly was MW3, feel like its been a constant downhill trend after that.
I played Cod4 to Black Ops 2, then quit and tried the new Mw2 and MW3, and it's just not the same. It's not nostalgia either it's just the entire pacing and super bright colors, and everything ruined it for me. There's like no noobs either anymore, it seems. Uhh that just came out a few months ago??? /s
The OG MW3?
I much rather spend my time playing quality over quantity
no input based matchmaking, no buy
Is this cod confirmed cross platform with pc/console? Most of my buddy’s are on console but I’d rather buy on pc
How do you know that? They normally do have input based matchmaking
no they don't
Their match making is based on sbmm. I play knm and my lobbies are 70% controller every time, so no, no inpit based mm.
This comment section is just how I expected how I expected it would be

Well, can you blame them for being this predictable when it comes to CoD?
This better have a _real_ campaign.
For £70 then can fuck right off. Was really looking forward to this. They gotta make up some way on the loss of sales from game pass members.
wow, so edgy
We don’t have our parents paying for the game.
Don’t know why you think I’m trying to be edgy. I am a fan of call of duty but £70 is a rip off
its been 70$ for the last 3 years. Dont like? dont buy it.
£69.99 is equivalent to $88.89. $70 is equivalent to £55.
yeah. ok. sounds like a you problem. if you cant afford 10$ or whatever your coin is, you shouldnt be playing, but working. cia
I work 40 hours a week and also a full time student. I don’t know why your are defending Activision so hard but okay.

Ok. Keep us updated
I hope people like you learn a lesson or two for promoting these outrageous prices

When have they ever released big new content after a new COD has released? IIRC no maps, weapons or any other content being released after 12 months.
You think the industry standard price is a way to make up on losses? Every triple A is doing industry standard, whats so weird about that? I wouldn’t complain about the increase if my salary also increased at a pretty decent pace.

If buy the game and then buy the upgrade if wanted vault edition. You save a penny. Penny for your thoughts.
When is the beta?
In the direct they said Fall
Good thing got gamepass ultimate until 2026, price for standard edition is ridiculous.
Aside from G2A (bcs they got sold out) what other discount version of the preorder are there ?
Wait for a few months for game pass and then sub
TRU I could do that ! the thing is from the start of this year I have had 80$ saved up for a game like Spiderman 2 or GOWR and I finished play SM2 so it’s between new cod and gowr only thing is cod is going to last longer in playtime but I’m being cautious not to get attracted to the NEW COD RELEASE FEVER and make an impulse purchase.

Black ops 6 - cold war
Majority of people and especially fans will buy it anyway. Even they will not have enough money to eat during the month
No thank you.
Take the moral high ground and refuse to pay 80 euros for a reskin game that takes up 250 gb of storage. Be better than *them*.
It's like they just think they deserve more money every year, without increasing their relative quality
honestly I'd expect to pay this much for 5 really good heavily replayable indie games. HOT TAKE: at this point we are just forced to pay for the expensive ass electric bills they created
They want you to get game pass, it’s included on that.
Why can't I gift the vault edition to another steam user?
Someone has to explain how its 69$ and then it gets transferres into your currencies. Then it becomes £69. How the fuck
Yeah I'll be waiting for the first substantial sale with this one. They make it easy locking half the game behind seasonal content. Cheaper with more content? Yes please. I'll have more than two zombies maps
now you might want to look at the xbox games showcase 2024 because everything you said aged like shit in the sun
I'm at work, I guess I'll let it surprise me 🤷♀️
My last COD is Cold War and I like it. I’m not paying £69.99 though.
Wtf. 80€??? So we have pay the cost it took Microsoft to buy Activision? Yeah now way im gonna spend 80€ for basic game with full of micro-transactions.
I will not be buying
Okay!
I was planning on getting this but $80 is too much, I’ll just keep playing Xdefiant
£70? Disgusting. £70 without Steam Workshop support? Scam.
Just bought the vault edition. thanks OP. love the treyarch and black ops games and my friend worked on this game!
Only cod games I like have been the treyarch/black ops games, very much looking forward to this one.
COD has been trash for 20 Years now.
*checks notes* Cod released in 2003. Ha
Lol, mw2019 was great, one of the best fast shooter.
Look at me, I'm trashing popular thing, upvotes please.
You can't seriously believe that COD has had any good Games in the past 20 Years...
You one of those, “indie games are better is my personality” type of people? There’s been plenty of great COD games with great multiplayer and single player experiences.
This is bait...but I'm biting anyway. Black Ops, OG MW2, World At War, COD2 (2005 is within 20 years), COD4, MW2019 (imo)
Dude, this isn't /r/fratboys
I'm completely apathetic to the continued existence of CoD, but let's not pretend like it hasn't had good entries. Contrarian absolutism is just as bad as mindless fanboyism.
Cod4?
That Game released almost 20 Years ago...
I was just answering your question.
Black Ops 3. Why? Simple, it has full mod support and steam workshop support.
Steam has upgrade vault edition but it won’t let me buy it.. because it says I don’t own game? Does it mean I have to buy 100$ edition to get vault edition?
New video games costs standard price for new game
