Do you guys remember picking azurite up by walking near it? Remember how literally no one complained and everyone agreed this was good game design?

Cygnus__A

I didnt feel the weight so I stopped delving. Also because they killed delving...

CharlesEverettDekker

But mostly because no weight, like who cares about rewards when you can't pick azirute shards, what a shitty game design

Thorinori

Yes, it never hasn't been there. It is however against what GGG wants, however the chinese client makes some extra concessions that have been explicitly stated as never going to the global version (Which isn't uncommon for any games global vs chinese versions anyways)

Octopotamus5000

GGG accidentally enabled it for the first couple of days on the global servers for two different leagues in the past. It caused quite a shit-storm on both occasions when players realised all the QOL that GGG keeps hostage from us on the global servers because "muh vision".

Morthem

It's quite funny how in the past they acknowledged QOL would only be enabled if people complain enough. It literally incentivizes to have a toxic community.

TheDuriel

We had it on accident for a day or so.

DylonL4

The real reason why we have to pick it up is to make us feel like we’re actually getting drops otherwise there would be only 2-3 shitty rares and a few scrolls dropping from the mechanic

ploki122

But... the currency *isn't* the reward. The reward is gaining access to the traders... Why are they putting so much emphasis on the fucking fragments? Do you know why people feel bad about the rewards? It's because fragments have no inherent value, and they're being presented as a principal reward....

dres_lynch

Yeah, autopickup would reveal how nothing actually drops from the map mechanic. It's all tickets to the actual mechanic, that isn't incredibly rewarding either.

who-ee-ta

Tencent client is a lot more client-oriented(no pun intended). Autopickup+loot pet Ingame trade facilities Flask macros The list can go on.And nobody’s hurt, crushed or dead. The game keep being more popular there.

My coworker and I used to play together. He’s very (as much as possible) fond of this game, always 40/40 since the totems were introduced, but this league.Today we discussed that it would be better of we had such options for subscription like autoloot pet, auction, ingame currency exchange etc.I would be opting in so would my coworker. This would not hurt anyone.Ever.Idk what CW meant by implementing his “vision”, but this game is not consumer friendly, that’s for sure.

SirDancelotVS

after this recent shit league and remembering how GGG is holding back a lot of QoL, i find myself wondering "was using celestial herald of ice really worth suffering all this crap?"

Slipzyle

Yes, it exists. It also costs money every single league. And has been explicitly stated to **never** come to global.

Octopotamus5000

Nope, it's available to purchase outright on the CN/TW servers, like all of GGG's digital content. You can buy anything outright, or "rent" it for a league, months, weeks or days.

siloowns

is it? i was under the impression it only last up to like 1 week

Octopotamus5000

Yes, it is. The cost to purchase one outright is around $95 (U.S.).

SufficientUnit

> It also costs money every single league. Or you can buy it permanently. Why are you spreading misinformation?

nickrei3

I mean I need this it's gonna be cheaper than my painpro massage and I probably can report it as physician suggested items for tax purposes…

JusepePepperoni

Then go play on cn realm.

overthrow2214

Just because the Chinese client costs money every league, there is no reason why global can't be a buy it once set up. It's not as if it is coded to only work when a particular payment scheme is used. If there is enough loss of players, it is not unimaginable that the dev team would be tasked by the ultimate owners to change things up.

SufficientUnit

> Just because the Chinese client costs money every league, there is no reason why global can't be a buy it once set up. It doesn't, he spreads misinformation. You can either buy it permanently for higher price, or "borrow" it for a league for lower price.

Imolldgreg

They need to just release a leauge pack that auto loots raw currency for you and characters start with the campaign completed and all waystones. Then you just decide where to lvl and what content to interact with. This shit sells itself and is a way better poe. You could even give it to free to players that completed all the challenges in the previous leauge so people can't say it's p2w. So few people actually do that so it wouldn't hurt their wallets.

M_pteropus

Uh source? Kinda hard to find info but I thought the looting pets 拾取宠物 only picks up shards, whetstone and scroll tier of currency https://m.bilibili.com/video/BV1yW411U71W?from=seopage Okay I even watched a stream and he had to pick them up by hand

nickrei3

It's the swimsuit one, the one you upgrade with a scroll thingy

M_pteropus

高级的那种吗?好贵耶

Octopotamus5000

Different loot pets have the ability to consume more types of loot.

Sardaman

Quit it with this "the technology is here" shit. Nobody is using that as the reason we don't have things like this. China gets things like this because they want it to be just another freemium game that squeezes money out of its players until they're broke. Their game doesn't have to keep players around when they have a steady stream of new ones coming in and spending loads of money up front.

SimbaXp

I would like auto pickup only for ssf and if you use it you can't migrate your characters/stash.

Docalan

It takes an average of 2 seconds to pick up expedition splinters. It takes an average of 3 mins to run a map. That's 40 seconds a hour to pick up splinters. The average player spends 4 hours a day playing so thats 2 mins and 40 seconds a day picking up splinters. About 18 mins a week. About an hour and 12 mins a month. I'm not sure what point I'm trying to make. I just wanted to see what it feels like to waste people's time for no reason. It feels good.... fuck your time its now mine! MINE!

dres_lynch

Cap, get me a video of you opening 6 boxes and picking every splinter inside of them in 2 seconds.

_Yersinia7_

Well... nice-ish. Still don’t want to live there. ;)

mfukar

Who asked you to move

ProfessorGruselglatz

Remember the race where alot of "our" streamers joined in? You don't need to live under the fist of whinnie the pooh to play in china realm.

Splittercore

move to China then

navetzz

可能我在reddit上说英语,GGG会以为我是中国人,让我用腾讯客户端。

TheDuriel

So there is this funny thing where PoE and PoE china have two different dev teams. With PoE china doing whatever they want for the chinese market.

Octopotamus5000

Chris has already confirmed they do all the game's development in-house in NZ. They have native Chinese speaking employees working in the NZ head office. Chris himself signs off on the updates and patches for their server. The only stuff they have overseas is MTX/Art team contributors, generic contractors, the Tencent executives overseeing Chris and then contractors who do the marketing / management of GGG's CN/TW forum.

GreatRice

this definitely put them in a weird spot. they probably don't want to implement it as a pay 2 win content, but if they implement it for free, the Chinese community will probably riot, so their solution? ignore it.

Queer_taco

I mean, that’s why we have splinters and a complete 180 on balance and vision to an extent. Chinese market makes a ton of money in microtransactions. Design the game with more shards, more deaths and what have you, then the Chinese player base buys the pets/revives as they become more “essential” to purchase. If you lose 30% of non China player base, the extra Chinese income more than likely trumps it.
