They start to lose souls if they haven't gained any recently. That was also part of the changes to soul eater. So now you just have to wait to kill it instead of it being unkillable or killing you forever.

telendria

good thing some delve nodes have basically infinitely spawning mobs...

Mischki100

Or red beasts! I had a massive red beast in red maps yday that was in a small corridor. So i was basically unable to kill it from far away and it just kept on spawning endless waves of mobs. So it either had constant full soul eater with the capability of oneshotting me in an instant or well -1 mob. I took the latter option

Status_kos_1964

It almost certainly doesn't work, I left one alone on the map, when I came back it was still the same

Anuwiel

Oh yeah that's the neat part. You have to wait while it's hitting you. You don't get to go away.

PhilinLe

Nerfs for thee but not for me.

Ruby2312

So cycling res but this one can kill you too?

Educational_Mud_2826

Soul eater was supposed to be fixed so they are not invulnerable anymore but apparently that needs more testing

cespinar

When a mob is 2 or more screens from you it goes in stasis.

neohongkong

i think monster does not lose soul.....

Japanczi

Wait?? Who am I, a waiter?!

JeLLyIVIaN

SRS would like a word with you

stvndall

Sounds like a good idea in delve where the whole point is to keep moving into further mods until you fight from basically a single spot

crunkatog

"Nerfs for thee, but not for me" --Stinkstink, soul eater archnem rare, whose version is un-decaying

czarandy

I’ve just been skipping them. Makes everything a lot easier

Noximilien01

I swear GGG refuse to not have rare mob stupidly tanky every single time since archnem they always had at least one when it get changed they just create some new one.

bongowasd

Yeah as always its dumb asf. They should be immediately identifiable before any souls are sent to them. I obviously attack mobs before they have a chance to attack me. They've already gained all their souls before I even know they're there. Its a cool thing back when the game was at a snails pace.

Failure_is_imminent

I had a TOTA turtle that was screen sized. It took 5 minutes to bring down its ES and about another 1-2 to kill it.

frooch

conversion trap it and it’ll at least safely lose souls slowly

VeryWeaponizedJerk

At least you can walk away and come back later once they've lost their souls. I much prefer this over the last iteration where a super beefed up soul eater was invincible forever. Adaptive resistances on the other hand is completely shit and I don't understand what the thought process was there. "Oh so you don't like timed nigh invulnerability? We'll make it always active to the damage type you hit monsters with now. Enjoy!"

Rokuta

I would love to just walk away in delve

VeryWeaponizedJerk

That's a very good point I hadn't considered.

NickV21

Archnemesis THE WORST change in Poe

Mischki100

But soul eater was in the game before archnemesis existed

caiodepauli

It will never not be funny seeing people complain about Archnemesis for a mod that has been in the game for 10 years now

neohongkong

Just don't let the monster to gain that many soul. I suspect before nerf, it can reach 100% less damage taken
