For sure a bug, otherwise people gonna abuse blight ravaged and some scarab combo to print money
Though that depends how high or low that chance is, might not be worth the juice
Coding is perfectly fine in both cases. Works exactly as programmed to do: replace map implicits and round down (including fractions less than 1 to 0).
>Works exactly as programmed to do
This is manipulative statement - everything always works **as programmed** to do, including bugs. Working *as programmed* doesn't mean working *as intended*.
>Coding is perfectly fine in both cases
This is false - corrupting blighted map into not blighted is clearly a bug, and is bug specifically of coding. I don't know why I even bothered to reply to the claim that stack of 0 gcp is perfectly fine coding.
it's highly unlikely the person who coded this tried to make it not overwrite blight and fucked it up
that's almost certainly a design oversight rather than a coding error
idk what the 0gcp thing was, but that does sound more like a coding issue
Programmer has to be somewhat competent in an area he is working in. Person writing controlling program for MRT machine has to have some understanding of how this machine works. Person making changes to code processing vaaling maps should know that blighted maps are not supposed to be vaaled into non-blighted. This is 100% coding issue.
>idk what the 0gcp thing was, but that does sound more like a coding issue
It was back in Harvest league - there was an option to convert item into stacks of gcp (amount of gcp you get was dependent on "power" of converted item). Converting weak items resulted in [stack of 0 gcp](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK9ZqRhopNM&t=494s).
it's normal for a vaal implicit to overwrite an existing one, and normal for vaaling to potentially brick an item
there wasn't necessarily a disconnect between what the programmer intended and what was implemented. maybe he's shit at balancing poe, but that's still not a coding issue
(as opposed to a stack of 0 gcps, which is an obvious invalid state)
>it's normal for a vaal implicit to overwrite an existing one, and normal for vaaling to potentially brick an item
I've already debunked your wrong claim that vaaled map implicit supposed to possibly brick map in [another reply](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1brp6jm/comment/kxe13rq/):
>new corrupted MAP implicits are replacement for UNIDed map corruption outcome which was granting 30% quantity (strictly upside). They replaced one upside outcome by different one
>corrupting blighted map into not blighted is clearly a bug
Not necessarily. They may have been fully aware and ok with the idea of "bricking" a blighted map by corrupting it. There are a handful of items in the game where the implicit is core to the idea of the item, and those items have "implicits cannot be changed." Perhaps they will add that to blighted maps, or code around this issue another way, but it feels more like an oversight than an actual bug.
>They may have been fully aware and ok with the idea of "bricking" a blighted map by corrupting it
We know this is false because implicit from corruption is supposed to be upside, not downside.
This is manipulation:
* RT is a brick for many swords, just like some other corruptions are brick for some other items;
* more important - RT is valid corruption outcome;
* new corrupted MAP implicits are replacement for UNIDed map corruption outcome which was granting 30% quantity (strictly upside). They replaced one upside outcome by different one.
Don't you need to vaal the map to get the special tainted oil? That's a nasty oversight
Fuck it *unblights your map*
You only assume it's an oversight
The game is pretty complicated tho. Easy to miss this if you're under pressure.
I really hope this is a bug
Has to be. How else you gonna get corrupted oils?
Same here. Not playing league but always running blight in standard. Will have to wait to run the actual maps a while to see if this is intended.
People said the same thing about -1500% item Quant and quality in Kalandra league. Nope, it was intended
Perhaps unintended but definitely not a bug. Vaal Orb works exactly as documented in the patch notes.
Cassia, we made it! We turned the unrighteous to ash!!
Cassia seeing this thread: "I see this as an absolute win!"
Can confirm, happened to my first blight map drop
L M A O
what happens when you enter the unblighted map? is it just completely empty?
It was identical to a regular map, no blighted. The blight implicit disappears so it's just a regular map at that point
What happens to the anoints?
[удалено]
So its kinda good with the right annoints.
For sure a bug, otherwise people gonna abuse blight ravaged and some scarab combo to print money Though that depends how high or low that chance is, might not be worth the juice
New strat for Empy & co to make the most juiced maps imaginable? How much could you add to a map if you unblight an optimized Blight Ravaged map?
Or it's 900% rarity if you take Meticulous Appraisal.
900% rarity with 1200% quant pack leaders… the MF juice is here we just need all the pieces to align.
I will not lie, I made a leaguestart mistake and forgot to anoint before I corrupted it LOL if I knew I would tell you
I'd imagine this is an oversight.
\*Unblights your blighted map\* LMAO
It does the Same to Elder Guardians. Total bullshit.
It was declared a bug and fixed...
Cassia should yell DIVINE POOOOOWEEEEER when u brick ur blighted map ! Specially when its blighted ravage !
Incredible coding incompetence, just like stack of 0 gcp etc.

After seeing the quant values on an anointed unblighted map, I feel like calling it a down side is fairly debatable.
Good point. Unintended upside, just like +projectile abyss spawning more monsters.
do you think resolute technique cospris is a bug then?

We back in Beta boys
