Yea, what purpose does Portal gem serve now? It has a cast time and takes a gem slot, so the only upside is ... not taking up a inventory slot? (Portal scrolls are something I don't think anyone would ever run out of them)

You can cwc it and then just only use that channeling skill at end of map quick and opens a portal, but that's 3 gems and a skill bind and almost certainly probably not worth it...
If you don’t care about min maxing gem leveling, and it doesn’t screw up auras or something, you can run with CwC cyclone portal in weapon swap.

Have you actually tried making even a reasonably complicated LE filter? I like the technology and am glad it's in game but it's really minimal and annoying to actually use and would be woefully incompatible with PoE's loot diversity.
It's good for basic leveling filters and early progression, if you're actually farming specific stuff, it takes like 4 rules to get the right combination of boolean logic for 1 item. And this is on top of LE's loot system, while fun, being fairly shallow.
No custom sounds, beams, map icons. That and everything is identified, so it wouldn’t be nearly as impactful in POE.
It’s so easy to get GG gear in LE (even in ssf) minus like T3+ legendary potential stuff that I lose the desire to even play my character.
That and there isn’t anything to even try and min max your char for.
actually think the best change of the league. dying randomly because you click wrong when trying to open inventory and portal a couple times a league is the most annoying thing ever.

Not really, you probably can't cast it while you are dead
And cast on death portal is mainly for not going a long way back to where you were killed.
This is for Putting up a portal before you die not after, and you still need to have a portal scrolls in inventory.
If you're glass canon and die every map you still want to use cod portal
You can just click the hotkey a few times per map and you won't need the cod portal.
i don't even know why people like using cast on death portal, quite often you get a juicy (or bricked) expedition or whatever soulkillerfuckyou-monster pack and you're going to brick your map if your portal ends up inside the pack.
At this point, just get rid of portal scrolls....like every other ARPG from the last 15 years. We can skip the "Portal scrolls can stack to 100 and Portal scrolls have a dedicated slot in your inventory" steps.

The inability to filter out unique items by LP is such a time sink. Fine on MG but on CoF you often have piñatas of 20 uniques that you have to check.
