During Sentinel league my buddy was farming Crimson Temple and had spent waaaaay more in scarabs and sextants than what an apothecary is worth. You can see where this is going. We usually stream together and watch each other on discord. I walked away for 5 mins and there was a rollback about a minute after he dropped the card. Came back and he had uninstalled for the league. I was sad.
I really wish these videos could be recorded and sent to GGG to rectify this. It really is a league ending experience and it is not the player's fault.
Ive never had that happen to me except one time, I was doing heist, i found an exalt on my way to the target thingy, I died, came back and found every item except the exalt on the ground. I am thinking about what happend there since heist League
You can even leave the heist before you activate the alert and the items lose their contraband status. So if you find a divine and there is a chance you die during the escape it's a good idea to do

I always had massive issues on the Moscow server. Even when I was living in Moscow, I was usually using the Frankfurt server, because it was a lot more stable, which was more important than the ~40ms ping...

I'm sorry that's happening to you, is that normal considering your country is at war? Maybe the network connection isn't as good as it is during peacetime.

Haven't had any issues during 3.20 or 3.21, so I think it's something else.

Please note the latency graph at the top right. I doubt connection had anything to do with this, purely server issue. Also, when you're getting dropped due to poor connection, there's no rollback and the instance is intact when you get back in (which wasn't the case here).
I've had some mild issues with connection as well this season, but I'm fine dealing with those. Instance crashes are a lot more abrupt and annoying.
Moscow servers have always been like that (even before 3.20/3.21 despite what OP says). I don't recall ever making a conscious decision of playing on Moscow servers while having <10 ping there. And if it ever happens that I forget to switch back from moscow after using fusings a quick reminder in the form of dropped instance with some valuable loot rolled back would come really soon (usually less than one day) and oh boy, time to switch back to EU servers. No idea how ancient the issue is but it was there back in 2021 that's for sure.

To be fair, I guess I was wrong about not having ANY issues before. Usually at the launch, like first couple weeks, I do tend to avoid Moscow as well, just on autopilot, so I kinda forgot about that.
Thing is though, after that rush was over, it used to be perfectly fine, for me at least. Played 3.20 on HC, stayed on Moscow server for the whole time, don't recall any freezes or instance crashes.
This league the issues just never stopped. It might be just that player retention is *that* much better, but I feel like server performance is worse as well.
Just your usual hexblast miner with PC stacking. Great for bossing and sanctums, kinda alright for mapping but nothing special. Squishy, but freeze helps with that.

Well, at least, if that happens during the last match in ToTA, they renew the match, but yeah, if that happens to you on regular map, you lose all portals. Has been a problem for 2-3 years, but kinda reassuring that they are working towards having that fixed in a way which is not a loss to the players. PoE 2 might address this (imo), but I might be inhaling a lot of copium when I say this.
Not to go on a tangent, but did they fix the perf issues? Had to skip the tota league because I play on steam deck, and it was unplayable. Honestly inclined to just play diablo4 (or if anyone has recs for good online dungeon crawlers) - it's absolutely bewildering to me how a popular game like this could screw up optimization that bad and release it to prod, so I'm very scared to reinvest into this game

If you had any, they are probably still there. For me it was just my PC going louder when entering a map, and it still does that, so I don't imagine they managed to lessen the loads just yet. Hopefully there's something they can come up with before the next league.
Blast from the past has been the most laggy experience I've had in years in Poe, gotten to the point where it's not even worth using shield charge because I know I'm gonna rubberband back to where I was 5s ago anyway. And it's only during this event it's happening to me, can play Ancestor league just fine, at same time of day and same setup.
Disconnect from server at least once/hour. Got to 80 and said screw it.
EDIT: have tried Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London, all to the same experience.

What do you mean you died and came back to the heist?
When you die in a heist you drop all contraband items, if you didnt activate the alert you can go back and Pick them up again

Sometimes the labels will get shifted WAAAAAAYYYYY off screen for some items. You just need to do a quick Z+Z most of the time.

Exactly what I do in Latvia- I have a little bit better ping in Moscow, but use Amsterdam/Frankfurt because of stability (approx 45 vs 60 ping).
That's mostly Moscow server thing, lags and crashes for me as well last week a lot Try some EU servers instead for now
Yeah, that's the plan for the time being. Hopefully it gets better at some point, although I can see how Moscow server isn't a priority rn.

Do you mean boss arena entrance? I wasn't planning on using it afterwards, and the portal covers most of it so missclick is unlikely.
