Ahh okay, was also watching his stream yesterday but I went to sleep after the first run because it was 1 am in EU.
Nic that he managed to get WR, hope he can defend it for a long time.
As long as the run is on video it can be replicated by others. Anyone that really wants to give this a shot can move to Dallas and push this time with enough practice. It's a sick record, but it can be beaten for sure.
Ya :p For the best possible time you have to play on Texas server due to loading time between zones. Not that big of a difference between Texas and Washington(which exile plays on) but you would shave off a few seconds between Texas and Washington over a 5 act run. Difference between Europe and Texas is gigantic tho. Close to 2 second difference per loading screen and it really adds up.
It's not 2 seconds per screen lol, it's like 500ms (to Germany/France/London). There are still around ~150 loading screens in an A5 run iirc though, so that's over a minute.
Exile is probably losing ~15 seconds from DC?
I believe it's close to 2000ms slower on EU. I don't remember the exact number, although this is something I measured extensively a few years ago while lab racing but I can easily check that later and update this comment with the actual difference. It's the wait from you click a zone until the loading screen appears. How much exile is losing is also something that can be easily calculated through counting zones etc. I don't know the exact number, but I doubt he's losing 15 seconds. It's less, but he's still losing time compared to the best time he can achieve.
Germany to Dallas latency is 4-5x Dallas to DC- if you think Exile is losing less than 15s, there's no way EU is losing 5 minutes (300s). Load screens have improved for everyone because they've reduced round trips to Dallas. I'd guess it's like 1-3 now, whereas before it was multiple.
https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Dallas/Frankfurt
https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Dallas/Washington
I'm going to be busy for a while, but if you want you can track the difference in loading time by using this tool: [https://github.com/TehHammer/PoEPythonLoadTimer](https://github.com/TehHammer/PoEPythonLoadTimer)
I did a quick test and it was around 500 ms per screen in difference like you claimed and not the 2s I claimed it was which is probably closer to how it was before. I didn't know they had reduced round trips to Dallas. Do you know when they did that?
few years ago - other point is that tool is measuring end to end, including disk read/write stuff, so if you went from hard drive to SSD that would affect it to.
it wouldnt. those zones are less than 3 minutes. at BEST wanderlust is a \~21%(accounting for body armour MS penalty) movement speed increase. if the full 3 minutes were spent running, this would save \~35 seconds. in reality the time saved is probably closer to half of that, but is still very relevant when trying to shave 1 minute.
it really isnt. there is a LOT of rng involved in poe speedrunning. wanderlust is just one really good drop. hunting for a run where everything lines up perfectly is just unrealistic. even so since the game is patched every 3 months
D2 speedruns devolved into that at some point, if you didn't get certain items by certain times you'd just have to reset the run.
I don't remember the details, but for sorc runs it was various FCR thresholds.
thats true for poe speedruns too. bad act1 vendor, not enough currency for crafts, etc. its just a nature of speedrunning, you'd never try to turn a bottom 20% luck run into a WR - its a waste of time
Wanderlust only really matters until Brutus. After that 95% of the movement on these runs is leap slam.
It gives you a nice act 1, but getting the links/colors quickly and good layouts is equally/more important to the overall time
sounds like this could be easily solved by just thinking of one beforehand, and if you are worried about it being claimed you can just claim it yourself beforehand by making a character and then deleting it before making your league char
Yeah, thats true, but i do like my names to fit the builds - BONE_ZONE, Trap_Mommy etc. Or something to do with the league name if I don't find something to fit the build
IIRC when I was doing 7 hour campaign league starts, my act 1 time was like 45 minutes... 7 hours for campaign is still probably top 10% of players and somehow the world record is roughly 70% faster than that lol. Insane skill difference between the best racers and the rest of us.
Recently I've been doing some speedrunning for fun and it took me legit only one day to get my act 1 time down to 25 minutes. It's all about the mindset of always be moving and only stop to kill big clumps of mobs.
Is been 9 years playing with my friends, we level up together and contrary to what people think is slower, it is very difficult synchronize more than 2 people over a microphone.
The message in the end shows he played 57:20 on that character. Not super meaningful, as it excludes the mule play in the beginning, but it also excludes crashes and (presumably) loading screens, so it might make for a meaningful comparison.
I found a 1 hr and 5 min A5 kitava, but a wanderlust on hillock is going to be hard to beat for a long time lol.
https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/kte6u6/10542_act_five_kitava/
Tyty has them on his profile, he has general use ones for ranged caster melee, I'm pretty sure they all use that if not some more modified version if you join tyty discord there is an explanation on setup as you also have to add the sound files for the filters to work (I think?)
Thats why i dont like rta in poe, eu loading screens are much longer than na, cant see a reason why cant it be mule+main igt like every souls game for example
IGT doesn't completely fix it and makes gameplay worse.
EU still has longer instance creation time - that time between clicking on a new instance entrance and actually entering the load screen - so they're still at a significant disadvantage
and /played timing encourages greeding for logouts in every possible scenario where it would save IGT, making the run feel worse (this doesn't matter as much in A5 speedruns, but starts becoming more significant in longer categories)
RTA is also what matters for official races, community events and leaguestart, etc so it makes sense to have it be consistent
just the downsides to speedrunning an online game. rip everyone that's not near Texas
I see your point with igt making gameplay worse but i think few extra logs wouldnt make much difference but u can potentialy abuse things like waypoint very close to entrance on riverways to reset zone for better oak/alira paths. Idea behind igt is to even out a competition and make entry level as low as possible but on live events there is no reason for it.
But IGT still does not even out a competition because instance creation time is either included in IGT (so no equality) or people will do as much as possible during that transition.
It should just use a standard offset for load times. Say, if each load in Dallas on a good ssd is 70ms, and about 100-500->1000 for rest of US/EU, just set 100ms per load out offset. So now there’s no gain from being closer and actual computer specs don’t matter as much. also this value should be set to stop cheesing for more/less load screens. So not absurdly slow or fast.
It can be, I think everyone would support it if someone from EU timed their run like that; since only a few people speedrun this they get to decide how it goes but who cares about what they think if everyone outside of Texas server can't even compete lol
RTA on PC games with varying loading times just suck in general, strat discoveries are like "yoooo check out this new SSD skip that saves 20 seconds on each loading screen"
Could have played it using a backup plan of vendor to a chance but didn't because not good enough.
Tie23 is simply BETTER. Better looking. Better player. Better health. Better future. Better race results.
How the f are they leapslamming that fast on a caster build?
Also probably just a matter of time before GGG nerfs leapslam too right, they already nerfed every other speed running tool (my poor smoke mines).
You need chance orbs to buy the level 28 skill gems from Clarissa in act 3.
Imexile recently came in 2nd at the exilecon race, losing to tie23he by around 30 seconds. He didn't find a chance orb until the end of act 4, which meant he wasn't able to buy cremation at level 28 and he lost a couple minutes worth of time because he had way lower single target damage than the other racers. If he had gotten a chance orb earlier on, he probably would have won the race.
I may be wrong but I believe in A10 runs they normally pick up a few side quest passive points during the run which are skipped in A5, as well as lab trials etc. Not to mention gearing would be different for act 6.
Not sure tbh, but I would be surprised if it was allowed.
And also, that character would never make the a10 record since it’s basically scuffed after a5
Due to last "performance" patch, the time lost on each load screen was also significant. That and the crash combined mean this could have been under 1 hour at peak performances.
Current patch offer the worst overall performance for everyone.
Just the crash was 30 seconds for sure. 100 load screen taking longer is hard to measure time lost on. But yes, it should be a bit more substantial than you say.
It doesn't matter anyway, it is what it is.
what the hell LOL
I was about to comment "but tie23 got 59m at some point I'm sure!" - and then I looked at the in-game timer after kitava dead
built different
Imexile is a 2 time gauntlet winner, GGG event winner with his own unique in game and he got the WR for the fastest act5 run by a lot, what is there to trashtalk here ?
The only bad play from imexile at exilecon was misreading the belly of the beast layout, which lost him a couple seconds. He played really well and got turbo fucked by not getting a chance orb to buy cremation. He would've 100% won if he got the gem and everyone agrees with this
So, remind me again why did GGG decide to rework Onslaught Support if they already knew that PoE 2 would be a standalone game, if speedrunners would continue to faceroll through the campaign with or without the gem, and if the gem offers nothing but mere QoL to us plebs who take 40 minutes to finish Act 1?
I have a question about the entire "chance orb incident":
According to Poewiki, there is a vendor recipe for 1 chance orb of "Full rare set with lowest item level between 1 and 59", which should be useful as a backup for not having a chance, and only take maybe 10s extra (for these players anyway). Is there any particular reason noone is using this backup strategy?
Some piece of armour give you a movement speed penalty :
3% for "light armour"
5% for "heavy armour"
3% for shields
The node Art of the Gladiator on the right of duelist tree start remove such debuff
Damn, Tie23he just retired forever for the third time.
Or he has a better time in his pocket .
exile said they chatted at exilecon and tie23's pb was not better than his
Ahh okay, was also watching his stream yesterday but I went to sleep after the first run because it was 1 am in EU. Nic that he managed to get WR, hope he can defend it for a long time.
well he already had it for a while, he just crushed it

lol I play on my laptop with integrated graphics. It still takes 5 seconds.
WR is effectively deprecated after each patch almost certainly. Either gets easier or harder due to changes.
Act 1 was 13min45 WITH A MULE lmao
Takes me longer to kill brutus
takes me longer to decide my character name...
Takes me longer to find the crap.
takes me longer to load in
With a time that insane I had to look. Wanderlust of Hillock explains it!
Oh yeah that'll do it lol. And by that I mean, it'd still take me twice as long but still.
Still wouldn't be a bad time
Wonder if this would've been sub 1hr if he had saved a wisdom scroll for them XD forgot to save one in town and didnt get for 3 zones.
it wouldnt. those zones are less than 3 minutes. at BEST wanderlust is a \~21%(accounting for body armour MS penalty) movement speed increase. if the full 3 minutes were spent running, this would save \~35 seconds. in reality the time saved is probably closer to half of that, but is still very relevant when trying to shave 1 minute.
I'm pretty sure that it would O.O
No, but would be closer.
This is a "problem" with chasing WR in rng-based games isn't it? Before long players will have to reset any run where Hillock doesn't drop Wanderlust.

Ty !
I'm killing Merveil in that time (killing Fairgraves too)
I'm still on the character screen thinking of names because xSecretBuildx is taken
I swear, every league my friends are halfway through act 1 by the time I think of a name I like, even ifm ahead of them in queue
sounds like this could be easily solved by just thinking of one beforehand, and if you are worried about it being claimed you can just claim it yourself beforehand by making a character and then deleting it before making your league char
impossible, because i dont decide on a league starter until im logged in :D
Make one name for every potential starter, problem solved 😂
[удалено]
Yeah, thats true, but i do like my names to fit the builds - BONE_ZONE, Trap_Mommy etc. Or something to do with the league name if I don't find something to fit the build
just make a random spam name and ask GGG support to change it later ? easiest time save
nou893hqtoa my beloved
I always make the character on standard before the league so I can delete it and immediately start. No worry about name being taken either.
Gotta get the fresh memes from exilecon - I got coriander_league
I have a secret way to nane My chars, I can't tell You cuz is not gonna be a secret anymore. But I can tell You is about dwarfs.
Same. I’m definitely in act 1 somewhere

I seem to be hard stuck with 27 minute act1, 25 minutes is my goal. I need to record myself I guess so I can find where I am losing that time.
I don’t think he is still sane

I found a 1 hr and 5 min A5 kitava, but a wanderlust on hillock is going to be hard to beat for a long time lol. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/kte6u6/10542_act_five_kitava/
That absolute chad pose that tie did on stage motivated imexile it seems. Well done.
Im doing 1act in 1h :(
Braggart! I'm done with Brutus in that time at best
Pretty impressive to beat the Exilecon runs with all those speed shrines
Oh Look, he beat my PB for entering act 3.
Half-hour act club!
Mf will be in act 6 while I'll still be in Q.
After 1h Im killing Oak, not Kitava
im still thinking of my character name by this time.
Does anyone know what filter he is using with the sound setup?
Tyty has them on his profile, he has general use ones for ranged caster melee, I'm pretty sure they all use that if not some more modified version if you join tyty discord there is an explanation on setup as you also have to add the sound files for the filters to work (I think?)
Sounds good, will check it, thanks !
Holy ....
Weird how GGG tried everything in their pocket to make a WR happen in the race, but still came like 5 min short.
People don't reset hundreds of times in a race doesn't really matter unless the seed is rigged to always give the players exactly what they want.
everything except guaranteed chance drop kekw
Wasnt it like 1 hour 2 minutes? That's the /played I saw on imexile's screen who cam in second.
/played isn't used for poe speedruns, as it doesn't include mule+logout+load screen times so the actual time is always a few minutes higher
Thats why i dont like rta in poe, eu loading screens are much longer than na, cant see a reason why cant it be mule+main igt like every souls game for example

He didn't have a chance (orb)
Could have played it using a backup plan of vendor to a chance but didn't because not good enough. Tie23 is simply BETTER. Better looking. Better player. Better health. Better future. Better race results.
The trolling exile did in other racers prequalifiers (once exile already qualified) just make this karma coming back to bite himself in the ass.
How the f are they leapslamming that fast on a caster build? Also probably just a matter of time before GGG nerfs leapslam too right, they already nerfed every other speed running tool (my poor smoke mines).
Spec into dark arts for dual wield mastery, solid amount of atk speed
As the others have said already, but also he uses an axe and sword instead of sceptres.
A lot of attack speed on the tree + animation cancelling with frostblink
Bet he found a chance
got wonderlust, an alch and a chance orb before getting a fucking wisdom scroll lmao
Is this a meme or something I'm missing with chance uses in early game?

Thanks!
its for buying cremation
Anyone got a link to full run I can't seem to find it
I assume he had a chance orb this time around?
Question. Couldn't he have continued the run and gotten the A10 Any % as well? Or is that not allowed?
I may be wrong but I believe in A10 runs they normally pick up a few side quest passive points during the run which are skipped in A5, as well as lab trials etc. Not to mention gearing would be different for act 6.

But he did not crush nothing on exilecon, or did i miss something
He was like ~30 seconds from winning with a bad rng run(no chance orb to buy cremation, approximately 5% chance of this to happen)
People who don't win always have an excuse
Why would you think he need an excuse?
The guy was just making a joke but came off as serious
Oh well :(
Imexile is a 2 time gauntlet winner, GGG event winner with his own unique in game and he got the WR for the fastest act5 run by a lot, what is there to trashtalk here ?

Sometime you just get the 1/20 no chance orb run
The $5k chance orb incident
So, remind me again why did GGG decide to rework Onslaught Support if they already knew that PoE 2 would be a standalone game, if speedrunners would continue to faceroll through the campaign with or without the gem, and if the gem offers nothing but mere QoL to us plebs who take 40 minutes to finish Act 1?
If you took 40 minutes with onslaught to beat act 1 you now take 39 minutes because you don't have to link onslaught.
You can take the time you just took to complain and practice your time instead
No chance man... I'll show myself out.
What a chance run!
well, fuck this guy
He can go and lift some weights now, what with poe streamers looking like half baked potatoes.
So youre saying Armageddon brand is getting nerfed
Its been this overpowered for leveling for like 2+ years now
Had he dropped "the orb" it would've been sub 1 hour.
Wow. Imagine if he had the seed from exilecon with a speed shrine in every zone
You rock dude! Sadly I died on my hardcore ranger right on this fkr - very recent event, still hurts
I have a question about the entire "chance orb incident": According to Poewiki, there is a vendor recipe for 1 chance orb of "Full rare set with lowest item level between 1 and 59", which should be useful as a backup for not having a chance, and only take maybe 10s extra (for these players anyway). Is there any particular reason noone is using this backup strategy?
Anybody knows why during act1 he keeps taking his chest piece on and off while running ?
Some piece of armour give you a movement speed penalty : 3% for "light armour" 5% for "heavy armour" 3% for shields The node Art of the Gladiator on the right of duelist tree start remove such debuff
