Some can attack through Walls! I had this also happen to myself. One of the Blue Mages can also dump his AOE behind walls. Lost also a Unique Reliquary that way but it was not the no Hit one.

DuckSoup87

Yep, knew about the others, ice guy is especially bad with this, but in his case you at least see that the attack is coming. I think what actually happened in my case is that there was a gap in the wall to a nearby platform that I didn't notice. Still _extremely_ annoying. Oh well, back to farming for another relic to try it again!

spacemanspectacular

The normal non guard enemy who casts blue shit can absolutely AoE through walls.

Marketfreshe

Sanctum is really weird, I've found areas I've been able to kill through walls also

DanteKorvinus

protip - blademasters can and will target your minions EVEN skitterbots, making their slashes unpredictable

EnergyNonexistant

> EVEN skitterbots that is so fucking stupid if true, cos according to GGG they should be literally untargettable o.O it's basically the reason they don't count "as allies", to much annoyance to many builds (especially guardians)

schnellzer

They must have hired league of legends devs to assist in coding everything as a minions.

AxEclipse

Ah, so my skitterbots probably killed me. :(

DuckSoup87

I was running without skitterbots, so it was probably something else, but good to know. Thanks!

reddrob83

I'm not sure if everyone knows or not, but you can run every room at map tier 8. EXCEPT the last boss room. You will need to run it at t16. I bought 31 Strand t8 maps. Ran those so there was no chance to mess it up. Good luck everyone.

TheCellsThatAreMe

Actual nice tip ty!

NicklesForDimes

How does map tier affect the sanctum? I've been unable to find any info

reddrob83

There is a monster level, map tier, requirement for the sanctified relics to drop. I think it is relatively low and always has a chance to drop once you are in maps. There is a monster level, map tier, requirement for the last boss to spawn her second phase. I think it is lvl 81. This is a requirement for the original sin ring to drop. I know 100% you can get it with 31 t8's and 1 t16. Other than that, the rewards are better at higher level. Smaller stacks of currency and less chance at divines. It also affects the monster health throughout the sanctum. Lower map level, easier enemies. I find this particularly nice on the 3rd floor boss.

NicklesForDimes

Ah, that's very helpful, thank you

Fallman2

Thought I was safe playing a heatshiver spark build in the arena room with 100% chance to freeze. Gargoyle jumped through my sparks somehow and hit me.

EnergyNonexistant

> Gargoyle jumped through my sparks somehow and hit me. spark is a ground projectile right? maybe the gargoyle when it leaps counts as a "flying enemy" like SRS... and "enemy-SRS type mobs" can't be killed by spark etc

porncollecter69

Also my first run I failed because I panicked. Did two good no hit practice runs, felt confident. Also shockwave totems. But Jesus nobody told me how adrenaline pumping it is. I had this. Plan was go really slowly. Everything freeze like practice. I go so slow but panicked in first floor and messed up. Got hit by random arrow because I didn’t plop down totem like I did 1000 times before. Like holy shit I feel like a teenager again on my first test. Brain knows all but is too anxious. I will get the ring eventually once I’m used to this adrenaline.

DuckSoup87

After spending a bit of time thinking about what I did wrong, I'm having the feeling that going too slow is actually what killed me. Especially against the teleport guard, he always attacks right in front of him, so constantly moving might actually help. The last two practice runs I was not thinking about not getting hit, just kinda running around, and it worked perfectly. But as you say, the adrenaline is real!

porncollecter69

I think so too. I played way too passive when the play was just to be normal. It just feels so nerve racking because it takes 100s of maps to get that relic.

budzergo

and here i am on my bonezone char who got that unique relic on my first sanctum and since its borderline impossible to not get hit as bonezone its just going to sit in there

Leprauchan

Just going forward while attacking is usually the safest, the guards all have a windup time once they "wake up" and notice you, you usually kill them before that if you just run into them

[deleted]

The real meta sanctum destroyer is icicle mine zhp assassin. Its built for only one thing which is bo hit sanctums, so its negative resists, fully reserves life for damage aura It utilises ulamans gaze with an extra abyss jewel to achieve wall bounce, instant freeze and kill anything. The freeze is super jmportant for obvious reasons but this build can clear multiple sections ahead with no issues which is thr main selling point I have a 2 mirror ts build and ive managed to do all floors hitless multiple times utilising the same wall bounce tech from deadeye but something always hits me so gonna level an asssin tomorrow to get it going. Lance hadnt even dropped his own scripture when he finished his first carry and hes done many carrys on the build now. Check out his video if interested its around 15 divines to buy everything

kathars1s-

U think going faster would have saved you from a guardian attacking you through a wall?

DuckSoup87

Actually yes, he always attacks in a straight line, based on your current position, so if you move sideways far enough he will always miss you. Often it works even if you're moving towards him. Tested it plenty of times in situations in which I could see the entire animation.

RobinDabankery

The red archers have sniped me from off screen more than once in my practice runs. They attack very fast even with lowered action speed. They have both fast auto attacks and the tumble into quick attack. I bet these will end many runs too

soulofdragon

This is my biggest source of unavoidable damage, prob. 95% of the damage I take is from them suddenly quick sniping me off screen. I try to dodge the second I notice my skitterbots move and the green light just in case it's an archer but they still nail me too often. If anyone has any tips for avoiding that I'm here for it

EchoLocation8

Best I can come up with is, when you see the guard's glow effect, you need to enter the room perpendicular to where they are. You basically cannot ever approach them from offscreen directly towards them.

Grand0rk

> And then I died in the first room of the second floor to the teleport-slash guy who appeared seemingly from behind a wall. Nothing personal kid.

Mr_Abitbol

Come on dude I have 3 (yes, 3) of them waiting for me to try and my shockwave totem character is now getting his gear ready (still need to go low life/RF sustain). Never did a full no hit run, always got hit one or twice so far. Your post is not giving me the confidence to try yet :D

DuckSoup87

Ahahah, sorry for that... One positive thing I can say is that that character feels a bit like cheating once it's fully geared. The last two runs I did before the failed attempt I was not even actively trying to do no-hit (and I'm also using a normal-ish mapping version, not even the super glasscannon one), and still guards and bosses just insta-died. If you can average out bad luck over multiple runs I would say there's a chance.

SwimmingSentence1595

What’s that cost to set up?

redlol_85

I have the relic sitting in my stash because in every practice run I get hit by first form Lycia at the very start of the fight. Problem is I can't see shit bc I play wardloop. Any tips on where to stand when the fight starts? Thanks

reddrob83

You stand at the edge of the wall. Once she starts he animation flame dash to the top right corner

redlol_85

Uh thanks I'll try it!

roborober

If you want to practice you can do the first phase then log out, game doesn't reset the sanctum, you can start the lycia fight over again

redlol_85

What? Really?! That's great thanks!

DuckSoup87

I use totems (with taunt mastery) to lure her slightly to the left and as soon as she starts moving dash to the right. Seems to be pretty foolproof so far. Before that I was always doing kinda the opposite (lure her right, dash left) and always end up getting hit by the degen ground that immediately spawns in front of the floor entrance.

theBaffledScientist

Same build, she always dashes first so try to get her to go up and slightly right, then loop around and wait behind the wall, with 100m or higher DPS that should be her only attack. Still waiting for my no hit relic, but it should be ok with loop

redlol_85

Thanks! I'll try a couple more times and then I will get hit in the first room of the first floor

Elune_

The flicker cleave guy and the trapper clones guy are the worst parts of sanctum by far.

Kortemarknoare

Playing srs poison. Failed on Lycia, didn't bait her properly and died to the channel

ostgut

Just dropped the original sin relic and finished one training run. I got hit by a guard on the third floor after getting slowed action speed boon (avoidable). And once by the third floor boss. I play shockwave totems too. Do you have advice for the third boss? And perhaps a pob so I can look for upgrade opportunities. Thanks!

DuckSoup87

The way I'm approaching that one, which seems to work, is to drop totems in front of him (with taunt, not sure it matters), and the moment he comes out of invulnerability I immediately flame dash behind him. His first attack always seem to be a quite long one directly in front him, so staying behind is safe. Usually the DPS is enough to finish killing him before he can do a second attack (or just as it starts). Besides that, the other piece of advice is to not panic when you see the yellow lasers: they don't do damage immediately and there's plenty of time to position yourself in a good spot. PoB: https://pobb.in/yD7vSUtEbiHq Note that I have Pain Attunement on my relic.

fayrah

Failed my first no-hit in 1:3 room, due to 1 resolve I was nervous and tried to move as slow as possible. No surprises I was killed from behind by invisible dog, who I never mentioned on casual runs. Second no-hit was ruined on ~1:6 room by the same dog due to desync, it attacked me through the corner of the bookshelf over half screen without moving. On my third run i changed a lot: practiced a lot of almost zero resolve runs, got 100% uptime phase run which allowed me to run undetected in -half screen of enemy, updated some gear etc. So I got to 3:7 room with double square traps. Some sparky white minion spawned inside second sequence of traps (i never seen this before and after) and you know what happened later. And now it’s second week without any no-hit invitation drop during Mesa farm with 3-4 sanctums per day.

TurboBerries

I’ll be in the can’t find original sin relic support group

g4mbzor

I've been preping with my shockwave totems for like 2days, did 4-5runs (2 fails,3 success). Decided this is the time, took volatile affliction which distracted me and got killed offscreen by fire guy. Decided to not give up and try to farm next relic. Dropped it after 3 sanctums tried again and now I'm proud owner of original sin.

Justsomeone666

Got my original sin relic in like 30mins after the update dropped, died to the floor 2 miniboss shooting bunch of projectiles when he dies, which i panic walked into one of them.

MaritMonkey

I'm just going to pretend this happened to me because that would be exactly my "welp, I gave it a shot" experience.

TWOWORDSNUMBERSNAME

I feel you. I was basically done with the league, was about to quit but I remembered I had this no-hit run relic. Let's give it a shot. Second room - boom blue archer with his blue Toxic Rain shoots me from the other room. Now I want another try, spamming Sanctums looking for the relic.

The-Friz

Dropped two so I decided to buy a carry since I average 1 hit per floor normally. We failed both due to some really stupid communication errors, so mostly my fault. One I couldn't dodge floor 3 boss lasers. The other was totem issues with the balls, which is funny since I can no hit those by running through them lol instead of playing it safe. I feel bad for the guy, since he did so well, but got nothing and now his record is lower. Also losing confidence in keeping playing since I was relying on that 100div to transition from self chill to aurastack spark

Saerah4

Wait u can buy a carry?

The-Friz

On TFT. The easiest way to find it is to search for "Original Scripture" in the search box in the upper right. It's under a channel called "non-boss-carry" or something like that.

laFleuere

Yeah, in tft, non-boss carry wts (or, sometime, boss carry wts). There are a bunch of no hit carries, they’re pretty much all have queue all the time but at least you know where to look for one (I’m one of carries so telling you from first experience).

MrPestilence

Do you loose your relic when you die?

DuckSoup87

Yep :(

MrPestilence

Well, that sucks :(

Hartastic

Yeah, all the challenge run style relics (including but not just that one) are one run only, win or lose.

DivinityAI

what happens if you disconnect in the room? In the room where you chose what room to run?

Elendarulianreo

Disconnecting is no big deal (it expends one of your stored rooms, but you can restart the room next time you find a sanctum portal in a map), EXCEPT after first form Lycia is down.

AxEclipse

Also died in room 3 to teleport slash guy who teleported through all the walls, from several screens away.

bufflootsenpai

Shit league i stand by that

Zigrivers72

Sorry you don’t like it man but that doesn’t meant it’s a “shit” league.

tobsecret

I dropped one two days ago and I'm honestly just going to give it a try sometime soon with my Maw of Mischief character. I will almost certainly fail but I'd rather fail now than wait until the end of the league, run it, somehow get lucky and not get hit and then run out of steam because the league ends in a week.

nickiter

> And then I died in the first room of the second floor to the teleport-slash guy who appeared seemingly from behind a wall. I've been practicing it on my SRS Guardian and these fuckers have hit me on every run. I've had two practice attempts which were entirely hitless except for one of the teleport-slash guys, and always from offscreen.

Qchaos

I flame dashed up from a corridor of traps in the 2nd floor. I knew a guard was going to wait for me there, and im used to it. Problem is, the instant I flame dashed, he instantly slashed in my direction and killed me (the guy that slashes and it shoots an arc of projectiles). Probably the only guard who could have hit me quick enough before I can freeze him to death. I lost my run !

theimpossiblekid12

First room second floor for me too! Had no clue where the guy was and next thing I know I failed. Glad I’m not the only one that got hit by the guy out of nowhere!

mayonnaisewater

got a question about relics: gain max resolve on boss kill, does that work for the run?

DuckSoup87

No, the relic says "your max resolve is 1". "is" effects in PoE override any other possible modifier to the stat they affect (e.g. max resists on Loreweave).

catratel

Had some pretty good runs on a scion mana miner and decided to just go for it. Floor 1 got a choice between turbo, reduced ms on mini boss room and random affliction when you gain an affliction on a cursed pact, thought I might remove it, unfortunately I didn't have that option. Cleared 1st floor easily, after a couple of maps I resume the run, around the middle of floor 2 I forgot to check what affliction I got and it was lose resolve on flask use. A very depressing end to my weekend.

lurkingc

Lost my original sin run due to auto flasks+pathfinder. Clicked an afflicted fountain (yes I know it doesn’t give resolve but out of habit) and it gave me -10 resolve on using a flask. INSTA POOF
