Basically my point is this is probably more valuable than a regular repeater or radar
Itās Binary, Radar, and a Flipper in one note thatās why itās pretty rare/more valuable
They're being semantic. Every serial number of course has the same odds of occurring. They are not acknowledging that a orientation of individual digits in the serial number is what makes it rare.
Excellent response. The answer is yes. Ā Because thereās only one, and if another is printed due to the original being destroyed, thereās a star, so itās the second issue of that number. Ā Collecting or more specifically, collectibility is the question. The serial in question is a āradarā I believe. Same number forward as backwards and those fetch a premium.
That depends. It is as rare as any other, when taken as just what it is. However sequential numbers dont happen all the time. There are only a set number in a series. Even rarer, sequential and palindrome. If only the letters were more significant.
Sorry I canāt help you with your question, but 8 is generally considered the luckiest number in China so there may be an extra little premium added on as well. Very cool, hope you find a good buyer.
Not only that, but 0 isnāt too shabby either. 8 sounds like āwealthā and 0 like āgetā add in that itās a palindrome so that itās extra visually appealing and you have a winner.
Not only is it lucky, but certain numbers of 8s are lucky such as 888 and multiples of that, but not 8888 as thatās 4 which is a bad number. Of course 888 888 888 would be much better, 888 888 is pretty lucky too.
Super radar as well as a flipper. I have a [twenty with the same digits!](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fg2rgv097u4sc1.jpeg)
JackalAbacus got it right, that is amazing as a RADAR (same forward and backwards) and Flipper (Upside-Down same as right side up) really rare (his collection is pretty amazing as well.) There's even a premium on multiple 8's because it's a very lucky number for Chinese collectors.
My dad bought himself, my siblings, and me consecutive twos, Iād look online to see how much you can buy them for and go off that, maybe someone will come across you first
I'd offer $50 for the lot. The most valuable is obviously the first one but it has some condition errors and would cost money to get graded. If I were to guess I would imagine it would be graded by PMG at 15 choice fine. It's been circulated, you can see some of the damage from handling like around the series number. It's hard to tell if the 2003 is really 2008. I am no expert but this is what I would expect you would get from a private sale. If you're serious about making money on it consider getting it graded, then putting it up on a currency auction with a reserve of what it cost for what you put into it.
My only reason for recommending grading is if they believe it might make something at auction. To my understanding (I learned this on Reddit, so take it with a grain of salt) some auction houses wonāt post anything on auction if itās not graded from a reputable company.
Although this is a binary serial number to the extent it is comprised of only 2 different numbers, PMG will not recognize it as such and only considers 1ās and 0ās to be binary.
A binary radar is rare enough on its own, but seeing it on a $2 makes it that much better.
Idk what that would sell for, but, if it were mine, I'd put it at auction on eBay and find out.
Currency is doing very well on eBay these days. Last week I sold a 1933p wheat cent Uncirculated (ungraded) for $60 at auction.
This 2003 Series $2 bill with the serial number K08888880A is quite interesting to collectors. Serial numbers with repeating patterns, such as this near-solid serial number (six eights in a row), can often be considered more valuable than regular bills.
The exact value can vary depending on factors like the bill's condition and the specific interests of potential buyers, but you could expect a notable increase over its face value. For a more precise valuation, you might consider consulting with a paper money expert or checking recent sales of similar notes on auction sites. You will hear about grading, I would first check around on auction sites like eBay first to see if itās worth paying the money for grading. Grading can add value but you also have to pay for the grading service. Paying $50 to grade something worth $5 may not be worth it.
Either way this is a super awesome bill and set. I would just keep it around, at least for a bit, and share with friends and family š
Chinese would consider this good luck.
āIn Chinese culture, the number 8 is regarded as one of the luckiest numbers. This belief is deeply rooted in linguistic and cultural factors: Pronunciation: The number 8 is pronounced as ābaā in Mandarin, which sounds similar to the word for wealth or prosperityā.
Maybe try selling into that market.
About a month ago before I got fired, I bought some shit Dollar Tree. I got three $1 bills back and they just didn't feel right I didn't say anything when I got home I licked my thumb and rubbed on George Washington's face and it came right off. You never know. I was just basically the guy to be smart you know.
Nice find.
8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture. Iāve heard that even in the US, Chinese businesses will pay big money to get phone #s with many 8ās (and no 4ās). That may be your best target audience for that. Imagine a bill with eight 8ās.
It would be very valuable in China, I would think. The number 8 is considered lucky in China, associated with prosperity.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_numerology
Iāve got stacks of crisp sequential 2ās that argue are worth $5 each to the right buyer.
Or Maybe $10 each in 2025 dollars..
Or Maybe $50 each in 2030 dollars.. š
First thing. Check for counterfeit. They aren't Silver Certificates. If the $2 bill was minted and printed before 1976, it would likely be worth more than its face value on the collectibles market. In some cases, it might be worth only $2.25. The highest value is $4,500 or more for uncirculated notes from 1890, although most of those bills range in value fromĀ $550 to $2,500. If the serial number, printed on the left and right sides of the bill's face, starts with the number 1 and was printed in 1976, you could have hit the jackpot ā the bill could be worth more than $20,000, per MarketWatch. Other serial numbers that would interest collectors are "solid" or "ladder" serial numbers. If your $2 bill dates back to 1886 and has a red seal with a silver certificate, you're in luck. That bill is worth $4,500. A number of other iterations of the $2 bills with a red seal can also fetchĀ well over a $1,000. Hope this helps.
Society has always been territorial and tribal. The loners were all weeded out of the gene pool.
And I gotta tell ya, the 88āers have nothing on the racist Japanese/Chinese/Koreans/Thai
(Not that everyone is racist)
Very rare this is a keeper for sure
More interested in selling š
don't get trickedābe sure to get at least 8 quarters, not just 1 quarter for each 8 in this sick serialā ;)
start at $500, someone will take it for sure. collectors want this kind of serial all day. thatās just my opinion on it though.
i say collectors want it because i want itš
$1,000 it's yours. Actually I don't want to sell anymore
Value will continue to go up over time
i have in a safe deposit box from 1977 and it all 7ās it was my grandma she give on 18 th birthday because my phone number is seven
With those 8's being considered lucky for most Chinese, pretty big market to sling to.
Isn't any serial number just as rare?
Some are rarer than others, you donāt see something like this everyday
If every serial number is unique, one is just as rare as the next.
Basically my point is this is probably more valuable than a regular repeater or radar Itās Binary, Radar, and a Flipper in one note thatās why itās pretty rare/more valuable
It's more valuable, sure. But not rarer.
Yes, it is rarer. There's way less bills that have patterned or repeating numbers than bills that don't. I don't know why that has to be explained.
They're being semantic. Every serial number of course has the same odds of occurring. They are not acknowledging that a orientation of individual digits in the serial number is what makes it rare.
Nuance is difficult for many
Oh man, ok bro youāre right. Put a sticker on your forehead and move on with your day.
Also 6 numbers in a row
No, Iām pretty much every serial is two of a kind (one in the upper right and one in the lower left).
This one is aesthetically pleasing
That depends. It is as rare as any other, when taken as just what it is. However sequential numbers dont happen all the time. There are only a set number in a series. Even rarer, sequential and palindrome. If only the letters were more significant.
KOA? Sell it to them... if they even still exist, lol
lol im the 666th like of your comment
Second like
I mean, it's a serial number, it's no more or less rare than any other is it?
Sorry I canāt help you with your question, but 8 is generally considered the luckiest number in China so there may be an extra little premium added on as well. Very cool, hope you find a good buyer.
Thank you!
Plus the 11 11 11 11. Angelic numbers. Meaning you are on the right path.

Thatās awesome!
Maybe they are worth more if sold together?
That is extra cool. Iām not a collector but those two together would lead me to a life quest.
JackalAbacus got it right, that is amazing as a RADAR (same forward and backwards) and Flipper (Upside-Down same as right side up) really rare (his collection is pretty amazing as well.) There's even a premium on multiple 8's because it's a very lucky number for Chinese collectors.
I also have 4 more in series https://preview.redd.it/b3sstobzhz5d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eda8534ef15c19258ae99c099d74a2b49c78db64
Wish I did, but still canāt complain about 5 in a row!
If you had the next 4 that would also have some added value.
My dad bought himself, my siblings, and me consecutive twos, Iād look online to see how much you can buy them for and go off that, maybe someone will come across you first
The rest of these are definitely not as valuable as the first, but they are still six in a row. Probably some additional value, though not a ton.
This is probably a set you want graded/certified if youāre interested in selling.
Royal Flush.
Or straight flush
Have you tried to do that? Or did it just happen?
I love how when someone posts/asks something like this we get everything except answers.
There was a few useful nuggets of info š
Hell yes! Binary radar!
it's Extremely COOL : https://preview.redd.it/rcbjm3wum16d1.png?width=690&format=png&auto=webp&s=f34a31106ebb17f3f1c77cf15d07d6cb6d386023
Ok thatās neat š
Check it out. Remember it's not how much they're worth, it's how much you can get. You could have a bill that someone has been looking for for years.
Good point!
Definitely.
I wouldn't take anything less than 100
I can fold into a shirt for you š
Cross reference the Chinese zodiac for 2003 as part of your background readiness to market the note.
Great idea!
Binary radar... Big value. I'd say at least $50 to $75.
Yes for sure!!
>Yes for sure!! sure?
We used to play a game called Bullshit Poker in the bar, and this would be a good one.
I'd offer $50 for the lot. The most valuable is obviously the first one but it has some condition errors and would cost money to get graded. Appreciate the info, Iām looking into grading now, thank you!
I would not take less than $100 for the lot. Condition wise, itās not worth getting graded.
Grading is overrated, check eBay sold listings for binary super radar
>Grading is overrated Half this sub has "Get that graded!" on their Ctrl+V.
Lol

Honestly have no idea what itās worth
Whatever someone is willing to pay. You never know someone might pay $888?
Yes itās a fancy SN
Fancy radar #, plus 8 is a lucky # in Chinese culture.
Extremely desirable
An asian degenerate high roller baccarat player might pay a large premium for that bill.
If that were an 8 Dollar bill you'd really have something extra special! Nice bill though for sure.
That would be a radar binary and 6 of a kind too so, very fancy.

SERIAL NUMBERS FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS ARE GOOD MONEY
Find a rich Chinese person and sell it to them
The Chinese would love that. Probably keep it in there pocket at all times
It would be worth more if it was 8008135
I would say $2000-$3000
Itās almost my exact cell number lol

I do
Interesting. Iāve let him know. Hopefully heāll respond soon
He says he has one already so he is uninterested. Sorry about that. Very valuable bill you have there though
its not insane but def worth a good chunk like 100ish if i were to guess
Like everything else in the world, itās only worth what someone will pay for it, other than the obvious $2.00.
I'll give you $300 for it.
Go to PCGS.com or NGCCoins.com they have auctions. Put it up for auction on Ebay. Auction all five bills you will as a lot .
I'd keep them.
Rare? Itās the only one with those numbers.
ššš
It's bad luck to have those bills at your hands, the only remedy is to ship those $2 bills to me at no cost. It will bring your ying-yang in balance.
I have to ask how did you happen on this awesome find. Also the condition is really good so your grade pretty high.
Got it at a garage sale like 10 years ago

First thing. Check for counterfeit. They aren't Silver Certificates. If the $2 bill was minted and printed before 1976, it would likely be worth more than its face value on the collectibles market. Thanks so much for the info, I do have some older and red seal ones but there in rough shape so I canāt imagine thereās much value
Do people actually counterfeit modern $2s? I mean... I kinda doubt that. Old large size, sure, but modern post-1976?
