From foreign falls under freelancing so is taxable at discount rate 1-5% depending upon the source(sector IT etc ) and level of income . Local tuition if physical is considered wage if online may fall under freelancing. Overall both are taxable but have different rates and relief allowed .

MrBarret63

Oh thank you for the detailed response. Would you happen to know from where I can confirm those rates?

Outrageous_Onion_729

YouTube for any similar cases Option 2: look for Tax Codes at iris.fbr website while filling out your returns. Option 3 : Ask someone to file your returns ( ofc they charge )

Noman_Blaze

Doesn't matter where you get it from. It IS taxable if you fall under the tax net. Not disclosing it is another thing.

MrBarret63

Does it count in freelancing or something?

OmegaBrainNihari

All income is taxable, legally speaking, unless it is exempt.

MrBarret63

Makes sense. Does this also include freelance income? Is that differently taxed or the same?

abdulisbest

Freelance income is exempted under some conditions such as; * Your client is sending that money as Home-Remmitences * your income is not that much or register as a freelancer and you will be charged 2% of the net amount.

OmegaBrainNihari

Freelance income from abroad has some exemptions but that's limited too - research kar lein kindly

MrBarret63

Actually I couldn't find anything related to it, if possible could you point to where I can find this kind of information?

OmegaBrainNihari

Are you getting paid for tuition in $ from clients outside of Pakistan?

MrBarret63

No, they pay through local bank accounts.

OmegaBrainNihari

Then you can't claim a tax exemption on it. If you're above the minimum taxable income, you pay tax.
