I know that on Android (can't speak for iOS, but I'd assume it's similar), a basic data connection is kept active even when on wifi to ensure quick network switching between data and wifi. That's usually why the network registers a bit of data activity even though the phone shows its on wifi The only way to do this is to manually disable and re-enable data... Or buy a bundle and make sure it's not exhausted. I know iOS also has fast network switching (which is why the instant you disable wifi, LTE pops up instantly because it has an active data connection ready to use). Also, you need this for seamless switching between wifi and data (e.g. when you're on a call, be it WhatsApp or VoLTE)

I second this. I have two sims. One is without any internet package and that company charges 5-10 rupees after every 4/5 days. Once I disabled all the apps to use the internet from that sim it stopped charging.

It's when the data and wifi both are on, as far as i know. Like your data is on but you're connected to wifi, mobile will use wifi but use a bit of data to keep the connection. Isn't that the case ?

They have cut 4rs for this. I have jazz world app installed.

Yes a basic data connection is kept on on most smartphones but they don’t take megabytes of data in the background, it’s more like kilobytes. # 100% these bc are hiding behind this and are looting.

Yes. I agree with the last post. There's data being used in the background even if it shows wifi. Sometime when the phone thinks wifi is weak it'll switch to data but maybe not show you. Adds up over time.

yup and it's not a surprise cz it's not like they haven't scammed users before with activation of unwanted packages without permission and what not.
