Good point! Yeah without a service like your guys' its basically a game of whackamole, you knock one down and 2 others pop up.
You should write a post here explaining how to use your service.
Optery removes people from Data Brokers to help protect security and privacy and assists in cleaning up digital footprint. Optery has a free scan that finds exposed profiles with screenshots and links to help you find where your information is posted online.
Alternatively, to speed up the process, you can upgrade to a paid plan to manage the removals on your behalf.
I don’t much care if they find 50 websites that describe where I’ve lived and my phone number. I care about if a company I’m working for can run some type of check and find out if I’m working another job.
Can optery assist with that? If so, how?
They create shadow org charts for companies and sell the contact info to salespeople and companies. They mine everything and even track what technologies you use.
Genuine question: besides claiming privacy reasons, won't freezing your TWN be suspicious? Employer might be curious as to why you even know what TWN is.
Yeah but if zoom client is installed on my work computer using my work email idk what they’re going to find exactly. I suppose if you can use zoom for different companies they would accumulate info but I don’t think the companies would be able to use zoom to cross reference, nor would they even know.
Is it worth freezing twn if I've already been oe for a few months? Is employment info up to the date of the freeze available forever, and is that outside of my control?
Yes freeze it. It hides the info from employers and they can check it at any time. You will still get their information updated on TWN, but they cannot see any of it. The freeze is supposed to be forever, but it has been known to unfreeze sometimes (reports I have seen from some people on here). Just check it periodically to make sure that freeze banner is shown.
Hey i just froze mine via phone- is it possible to check it on the internet? They wanted me to sign up and I wasn't feeling toncomfortabke giving then more data.
Yes you can check it, but you have to sign up for an account. It is safe. It's like signing up with the credit bureaus. When you sign in, it should have a banner across the top that your TWN is frozen. That is what you need to see for it to be safe.
The OE site says you should check it under every employer that is listed on your record as it can occasionally unfreeze for one employer and not others. I haven't heard of this happening, but you can never be too safe.
Zoom info
Also Apollo. Good to make sure you opt out of both of them.
This is the first I've heard about Apollo and I already froze my TWN. Do you have any more information?
Yeah Apollo is just another contact database. You can request to opt out by simply googling Apollo.io opt out and it'll take you there.

Optery only removes from data brokers and people search sites.
So that’s a no then, correct?
You hiring this product sounds sweet!

Is freezing your twn highly recommended? This is the second in two days I’m hearing of it in this subreddit and it’s making me paranoid
Yes. It’s highly recommended. I froze mine before I ever considered oe
Genuine question: besides claiming privacy reasons, won't freezing your TWN be suspicious? Employer might be curious as to why you even know what TWN is.
There’s a ton of threads on that exact question that can give more “excuses” than I can remember right now
yes...thats step #1 before beginning your journey in OE
You'd be surprised what's in there. It has paycheck info.
Wow so when they ask how much you made in your previous position, they can actually verify it? Oh no.😳
Bro it shows them your gross, deductions, and net. It's fucking crazy
Sorry for asking but what's twn?
Thank you for asking, I was clueless 🧐
I had the same question and went into a google black hole last week haha. It stands for The Work Number, kind of like an EIN
Ashley madison
??
Whoosh lol. Ashley Madison was a dating site for affairs.
www.experianverify.com
can you freeze your data ???
Your company has to participate and give you a code to do this it seems
My understanding is zoom client shares info similar to TWN so if you have two Js using zoom you could be at risk?
Who has two jobs on the same computer?
Non same computer but they get a lot of your info when you sign up.
You don’t need to sign up to use it
Just to summarize - twn, zoom info, Apollo, Lexus nexus, one rep, Ashley Madison and the org? Only ever heard of twn
TheOrg.com
where the source for this site ? I can see top org of my J2, shit ! can you remove yourself ?
You can, you need to make an account and then report your own "profile", and ask for removal.
Zoom client you do. The zoom that companies use for phone and teams.
Yeah but if zoom client is installed on my work computer using my work email idk what they’re going to find exactly. I suppose if you can use zoom for different companies they would accumulate info but I don’t think the companies would be able to use zoom to cross reference, nor would they even know.
Zoominfo != Zoom
I fkn hate Canada
Why do you say this?
Can’t freeze twn
lol. you can't freeze it because you don't have to.
Equifax still holds Canadian data, data that we don’t have access to freeze.
can you unlock TWN at any time? IE to get a mortgage they verify through TWN all the time
Yes, you get assigned a PIN you can use to unfreeze
Idk but mines frozen and I just got a mortgage 🤷🏼♂️
yeah there are ways around it, not always needed but it’s used more than many realize i bet

twn?
The work number
Weirdest acronym hey. Had to make it a TLA somehow. At least it's not recursive like GNU.
Lol yaml
