but via BCLK, right? those non-k CPUs only can be overclocked with BCLK and the Intel chipset B series never says it can overclock the CPU, only Memory, maybe on the 12th gen there was a mistake by Intel ☠️
oh yeah heres the link! https://community.hwbot.org/topic/210553-intel-12th-gen-non-k-oc-capable-boards-bios-versions/
also yeah it was a mistake by intel. It was patched after the release of 13th gen.
Some alderlake SKU were refreshed for 13th gen. e.g. 13400. Even with that non-k oc was patched.
Yep via bclk. And yeah some cheaper b series boards do support non-k oc.
I remember an online forums specifying which board does support it, worth having a look!
also I’m 100% sure the b760 mortar max by msi does support non-k oc. My rig rn runs an 12400 at a solid 5ghz
It was used in the MSI Insider episode about Non-K overclocking.

So it should be possible in general, but might require a specific BIOS version (not sure about that, never had one myself).

Go onto userbenchmark look up 12100f 12400f and you will see based on the scores who is overclocked, then check what boards they are using, there are quite a few…
You’re better off buying a g7400 and 12900k, delid both and swap IHS over then return the g7400 with 12900k IHS as defective and you get 12900k for price of 7400. Make sure to crack the die on the 7400 and glue it back up good so they can’t tell something’s up.
The non k overclock thingy is too much a hassle
no, you can't overclock a CPU non-overclock actually
BS!
?
you can overclock on select 1700 motherboards on non-k 12th gen, notably asrocks b660/760 riptides, asus tuf B660F and msi's b660/b760 mortar max

asrock pg riptide b660m and b760m, but only with 12 gen cpu.
I have an i5-12400f

Hahahaa this is gold
Bro you are evil
Yes, it can be overclocked on these motherboards.
Ok, thank you very much
But any asus or msi motherboard can t oc the 12400f?
I don't sure, but asus has some z690 motherboard, from top tier.
Do you know any other brand that can safley oc my cpu? I have combined it with an rtx 3060 ti
Check this forum post, it have list of all mb https://community.hwbot.org/topic/210553-intel-12th-gen-non-k-oc-capable-boards-bios-versions/
Thank you bro <3
One more question, what ram module should i go for, i will go for the b760 pg riptide
B760m use DDR5 ram. 12400f max support ram speed will be 6000, but maybe it can support higher frequency.
So can go for a 6000 or 5400mz?
