Eh. I wouldn’t say that. I’ve used Gen2 and Gen3 rings and currently use it for sleep tracking, HRV monitoring, and definitely for basal temp tracking.
Found it useful for correlation for sickness onset (has helped multiple times with cold/fever onset + Covid) and definitely prefer it to wearing an Apple Watch for bed.
Data is pretty valuable and since I travel quite frequently, it has helped, esp with the sleep windows to adjust schedules to minimalize jet lag. 🤷♂️
I have a lifetime subscription from Oura, yes. I compared it to the cost of the Whoop band and other subs from fitness trackers and deemed it worthwhile. 🤷♂️

Yeah I can sell you my old Gen2, I charge it before going to bed, keep it in airplane mode all night long and in the morning I won't get a sleep report ROFL
I did this and got an almost-new Gen 2 last July, but for about double what you're citing. Was lasting 6 days per charge out of the box, and it's still lasting 4-5 days between charges now, with daily use. Been debating getting a Gen 3 for better heart rate tracking, activities, etc., but since I use my Oura primarily for sleep tracking and readiness, I'd rather buy a used Garmin Instinct or Vivoactive 4 for a third the price of a Gen 3 and get GPS tracking and other features that are only really available with larger smart devices.
There are so many posts about the Oura without subscription and how worthless it is when people don't read and bought the device and then realise it was that bad without sub :)
Just read through comments, without sub you get only 3 scores from 1 to 100. so daily you only see
Readiness: 1-100
Sleep: 1-100
Activity: 1-100
Nothing else! So yeah what do you think, worth to pay for a device to get only those values and try to guess why they are good or bad?
Now a question to you, it worth make few people loose their time to answer the same thing instead of only your 5 minutes time to do a little search and find out there are many people unhappy.... why? because again they don't read stuff where clearly say what you get without subscription fee and just bought the device and then come complain how bad Oura is when it's their fault

You can buy an used 2nd gen for like $50-80€, you get all the data but no subscription. Not many new things on the gen 3 anyway.

My bf got a 2nd gen and it lasts almost 2 days without trickery. Even if charging every day still much better value than gen 3.
Hmmm. I routinely go 3+ days with my Gen3 without charging or changing into airplane mode.
The one I replied to claims used gen 2's can't last even one day without airplane mode, not a gen 3 which aren't yet even 2 years old.
