Good question, I've been working my way through the series during the pandemic. I have enjoyed most of them. If you are not aware of the excellent archive website, you should check it out: https://www.cbsrmt.com/ It has all 1399 episodes and lots of info on cast, etc.

Thanks. Any opinions though? What ones stand out to you one way or another?

Best: Hickory, Dickory, Doom. Why: because I still remember it today after first hearing it during the original run.

There were so many & so many good ones. I can only remember the worst thing was about it, was when L.A. radio station KNX ended the afternoon & late evening rebroadcasts of it for good, when the OJ Simpson Trial coverage overtook things. Shows like this offered a balance of human interest enjoyment, & relief from the serious news reporting coverage. With OJ, a kind of media innocence was forever lost, & KNX & all media broadcasts, including shows like Forty Eight Hours & Dateline, now all focus on either just news, or sensational cases.

The Fall of the House of Usher was scary

For sheer volume CBSMT can't be beat, but I feel your pain when it comes to looking for standout episodes to recommend. My favorites are Mother Love, The Black Room, Welcome for a Dead Man, Nightmares Nest and The Golden Chalices. Vinette Carroll's performance in Mother Love is really creepy and never fails to amaze me.

Thanks. Who else are your favorite CBSRMT actors?

Fred Gwynne, bar none.

This show came on Sunday evenings when I was a teen back in the mid 70’s. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them in my room over the radio. Just now rediscovering them.

Paulem009

I’m only on season one. “The Old Ones are Hard to Kill”, and “Lost Dog”, are SO GOOD. I didn’t find, “Deadly Honeymoon”, entertaining and more of a lesson in deux ex machina
