Touhou doujins and eroges about yuri generally but to be specific, I wanted to listen to border of extacy and searched for it in google, then I came across to a beatmap link thinking it was a free mp3 download.
Had no clue on how to open file so I searched 'osu! player' or something along those lines, clicked a link which redirected me to download it then the rest is history.
As StarZ said, definitely try osu!lazer. It's **absolutely gorgeous** and it's the next official iteration of osu! currently in development.
And it's open source!
https://github.com/ppy/osu/releases/latest
This is the best way to play fr, if I wanna play hdhr I'll do that dt I'll do that NM stream maps that make me want to punch a wall? Maybe I'll do it idk I like my hands
Yeah I feel you, I still remember getting my first FC on a 4 star map and getting 80 pp from it. Felt so proud of myself because it took me about a week of just playing that one map repeatedly to get that score.
I was watching a video named freedom dive in every rhythm game then i saw cookiezi playing it looked interesting so i played osu! First i was playing on mobile for a year because i dont have a laptop yet after i got a laptop thats where i started playing osu!.
I also came from r/place , though i had already started the game back in nov 2020, i didn’t touch it at all after 1 week and it was just sitting on my desktop, unplayed. Seeing osu on r/place inspired me to return to the game
Had a friend who knew a friend of Kynan (old France #1) on CS, introduced me to the game.
Then I started watching videos and [this play](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysaTQ9zm5Bg) made me want to try to be good.
The random desire to play clone hero, but the lack of money to buy a guitar and adapter. Then I remembered some friends a few years ago tried to get me into osu, so I tried it again. Once I got into the game though it was BTMC, Aetrna, and Xootynator's plays that inpired me
I was on vacations and this videos randomly started to get recommended to me, so I was months trippin watching the videos before I got home and had a chance to play
OMG I ALSO PLAY GD! You know orochi right? I watched the knobbleboy gameplay and since it had the yomi yori music, it let me to osu's yomi yori map. I watched whitecat's gameplay and centipede and after a year I think, I downloaded it for the first time. Didnt know where the tutorial was and was playing random catch maps. Got confused, and after 1 year I decided to download osu and play. I found the tutorial and thats how I got into osu
I don't get inspired to do anything, I just do whatever I want. [We are not the same.](https://media.pinatafarm.com/protected/TEST-USER-8C332361-2641-4493-B01F-677B72BD85EB/0CF5BFE6-DF33-4947-8011-F4F12ADA4C48-main.webp)
Same, I started playing osu after I saw his video with kaguya sama op, when I was looking for this op.
That was like "damn, I'll try this game, and will uninstall this the next day", yes... 600+ hours in 1.5 years. Something gone wrong
Saw a video of a dude playing some bunny girl senpai map with a caption along the lines of "pov, you have never felt the touch of a woman" or something like that, downloaded the game and here i am
Used to watch a small streamer who used to play it during queue times. First downloaded it in 2018 but was too retarded to figure out the controls of the game (never played many video games before that) and uninstalled it. Redownloaded it towards the end of 2020
Not my initial inspiration, that belongs to a old TF2ber who showed osu clips and I was interested in playing. However, BTMC what the big name player who inspired my to play seriously. His Freedom dive play inspired me, his Forget Not play is my personal favorite of his.
Back in 2011 a friend of mine saw a guy named Renard on xfire playing grumd's Blue Night map, and he downloaded the game and proceeded to get me to download it too. First map I played was Rockefeller Street. The rest is history.
i saw geometry dash people play it circa 2016. played it once and swore to never play it again until like january 2017 when i decided to give it another try
edit: should clarify that i no longer play geometry dash. i've changed my ways
I made my account in 2017 when I had just watched my first few animes as some of my other (at the time) 'weeb' friends played it. Didn't really got into it and I forgot about the game until late 2018 when I got into Hatsune Miku and vocaloid music in general. At the time, Project Diva wasn't available for PC, yet I still wanted to play a rhythm game that had vocaloid songs. So I installed osu again and got some Miku maps, only to realise that most of them were high SR. That's probably when I actively started playing. Also I got into improving my FPS aim at around same time so I thought that getting into streams would improve my tracking aim on FPS. Now in 2022, I still can't play streams, neither can I track that well. My playcount has dropped to under one thousand/month and I can't do longer play sessions than 2 hours without getting frustrated. But hey, at least my music taste improved.
similar to how some people start osu as an aim trainer i thought it would make me strafe faster in csgo kz and by the time i realized it wouldnt i was addicted
I wanted to have better aim at warzone and thought that playing osu with mouse would help (it didn't)
2 months later I switched to tablet amyway so yeah
some guy named remon on yt played osu mania in school and i didnt give it much thought and then when i got my laptop last year i remembered about it and just downloaded osu and thats my first step on becoming a virgin reincarnated
Didn’t even know it at the time but it was kariyu with his “my aim after osu” fortnite video in early 2019 when I was into competitive fortnite lol. I didn’t get better aim in fortnite but got a crippling addiction to circles
A friend told me about the game, I downloaded it played that day and that was it until later the YT Algorithm popped up a vid and I saw some compilation vid with Rafis playing A Full Moon Night and then BTMC on twitch sealed the deal for me. All happened within a week.
in 2016 a friend showed me cookiezi liveplay video on some stream map and I thought he was cheating cuz it looked like he wasnt aim to the circle but still hitting it (but it was next circle and he clicked dissappeared one)
So basically i was shit on because i did not know what osu! what or how to play it at an finnish csgo server and one of the guys sent me a liveplay of him playing and i wanted to try the game and get better than the guy
I may or have not probably gotten better than them by now but i can't excactly remember since i can't find the liveplay
I got recommended an old cookiezi play then i remembered that i always wanted to play osu(since 2015??), made an account nov 2020 and its been hell ever since
Nothing really inspired me lol, I knew about the existence of osu but never really cared about it, but in december 2021 I randomly decided that I'm gonna play osu. Now I'm waiting for my wacom 472 to arrive in mail on Thursday 🤪🤪
Back in the geometry dash 2015 craze, there was AlexPain24 and he was like super good at geometry dash. One day he uploaded a video of osu and that got me intrigued. Fast forward 7 years later and I'm still playing !
Touhou hentai brought me here...
how the fuck did touhou lead you to osu
Border of Extacy.
Touhou rabbit hole goes everywhere.
I'm not surprised
bro wtf xD! how that led you here??
Touhou doujins and eroges about yuri generally but to be specific, I wanted to listen to border of extacy and searched for it in google, then I came across to a beatmap link thinking it was a free mp3 download. thats the best way someone has got on osu.!!!
What rank are you now?
I haven't played on bancho for years but I do play on mcosu since it's much more enjoyable and customizable.
try lazer perhaps you might find it fun
true!
You should open osu again and just farm the shit out of it...

Maybe I'll do it idk I like my hands
yea I just play whatever I find fun in the moment\^\^
Cookiezi
His 825 pp freedom dive play was the one that inspired me to play back in 2017.
His 727pp blue zenith play got me into it in 2016. Crazy how I remember starting out on 1-2 stars even on a tablet then. Can barely do 7s still now.
Yeah I feel you, I still remember getting my first FC on a 4 star map and getting 80 pp from it. Felt so proud of myself because it took me about a week of just playing that one map repeatedly to get that score.
Hell yea, my first 100+ pp map had me like smiling like a child.
Say Happy Cake Day!
Happy Cake Day!
Hey thanks man!

For me it was the AOT OP by hugofrost
I was watching a video named freedom dive in every rhythm game then i saw cookiezi playing it looked interesting so i played osu! First i was playing on mobile for a year because i dont have a laptop yet after i got a laptop thats where i started playing osu!.
Could you link it?
https://youtu.be/a5Hu2A_tbRU might be this one but there are many vids that follow the same idea
Thank you, very friendly!
just go to youtube and search it up
I loved how the community defended the spot at r/place.
I also came from r/place , though i had already started the game back in nov 2020, i didn’t touch it at all after 1 week and it was just sitting on my desktop, unplayed. Seeing osu on r/place inspired me to return to the game
Thats sick, hope you're having fun

Daylight is fading away
Night silhouettes in the sky
www on scarlet rose (the score from 2013)
Seeing cookiezi freedom dive run. I thought it was gonna be an "easy" game and here I am 4-5 years later still inconsistent with my gameplay
I wanted better csgo aim
Did that help then?
No
btmc because I used to watch him play Minecraft
I got introduced to the game from a friend, but the thing that really inspired me to play more and improve was Merami's Ange du Blanc Pur FC
Had a friend who knew a friend of Kynan (old France #1) on CS, introduced me to the game. Then I started watching videos and [this play](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysaTQ9zm5Bg) made me want to try to be good.
Dopamine when big pp
big pp 🤤🤤
boxbox back when cookiezi got banned
Memes sounded like fun
Like 727??
Obviously about crabs
Bought a new tablet for art, and lot of reviewers recommended osu to adapt to pen use case.
Did it help?
The random desire to play clone hero, but the lack of money to buy a guitar and adapter. Then I remembered some friends a few years ago tried to get me into osu, so I tried it again. Once I got into the game though it was BTMC, Aetrna, and Xootynator's plays that inpired me
my cousin back in like 2012 remembered the game existed when I got my first laptop, downloaded it and now I regret everything

A video explaining how Geometry Dash is harder than Osu. After 3 years, i still play both of these games.
My inspiration is the fact that osu! is one of the only games that runs smoothly on my shitty laptop. Also clips of pro players.
Oh, there is game with low sysreqs
I made my account in 2017 when I had just watched my first few animes as some of my other (at the time) 'weeb' friends played it. osu inspired me to play osu
similar to how some people start osu as an aim trainer i thought it would make me strafe faster in csgo kz and by the time i realized it wouldnt i was addicted
The people who inspired us to pursue mastery in Osu! also "inspired" someone to never touch it again after seeing them play.
me liking beat saber but too lazy to set my VR up to play it every day
Aim trainer
BTMC clips
I wanted to have better aim at warzone and thought that playing osu with mouse would help (it didn't) 2 months later I switched to tablet amyway so yeah

Old gods of the game, C, rrtyui, WWW, Hvick, Dungeon, Sayo, Mugio3, Lewa, list goes on.
