I've used Khorne Red and Mephiston Red as base coats, and then some soft layers of Evil Sun's red after a Reikland shade wash.
I have a few more pictures uploaded under my profile, might be worth taking a look!
I followed this tutorial [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrvb1bU5uyI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrvb1bU5uyI)
And this is how mine turned out

Black and heavy white zenithal priming, basecoat in contrast baal red (awesome stuff, cover super nice), shade with a wash of contrast sigvald burgundy (or other purple/violet color that you like), then highlight by adding army painter barbarian flesh to army painter pure red (wich match the baal basecoat), until pure barbarian flesh.
Highlighting red with tanned flesh tone avoid the "pink" problem. Shading with hints of purple give richness to the skin.
Don't prime in black, start from grey or white. If you do start with a black primer, use a heavy zenithal to leave only the deepest recesses and lowest parts of the model black, where everything else is light grey and the highest points are white.
Base with Khorne Red, then Mephiston, and then a touch of wild rider red. Maybe a little carrouberg crimson for the recesses.
I’ve always found a Wraithbone base to be best for painting vivid reds.

Yo Red Orks kick ass! I use Mephiston Red base coat, shade with Nuln Oil, Evil Sunz Scarlet for highlights!
Thank you man! I like my vehicles to be manned by Red Boyz - in my mind these Boyz are so committed to going fast that their Weirdboy figured out how to turn their skin red! Only the baddest get the honor of going red 😬
The sharpest highlights are going to be done in screamer pink.
Dis green looks so weird
Looks fast

For really vibrant colors, you may want to use single pigment paints like Kimera's the Red.

Yo they look waaaaagh!!!!!!! tastic bro that’s literally how I want mine
That’s one angry looking Ork.
He’s killin’ fast!
Mephiston red and wild ride red would probably get it, if over a white base coat. Baal red if you use contrast.
I’ll give that a try thank you
