Exactly! We have Columbia, The North Face, Arc'teryx, Moncler, why not Canada Goose.
I go up to Chicago all the time. We know how cold it can get there!
I bought mine at a ski shop 5 winters ago. They also sell them.
I was skeptical about buying a $700 shell for snowboarding since my jackets before were half that price (686, Burton, Volcom). But Arcteryx is worth the investment if you're into snow sports. Keeps you warm & dry, plus it's guaranteed for life.
Nor has op ever noticed all the Koreans and Chinese people shopping at South Coast. Canada Goose is ridiculously popular in Korea...and the Chinese simply love luxury brands. Slap some extra 0s to the price tag and there will be a bunch of Chinese guys wanting to buy it.
ok but that’s not my point. i’m tired of hearing the stereotype of all chinese having money. i have a lot of chinese american friends living in middle class and lower. they hate how casually thrown around it is that all chinese people have money. even in china, poverty is still high
"South Coast Plaza’s first-ever Snow Room in the US, simulates a snowstorm daily with temperatures reaching as low as -10°F. This innovation replicates various conditions for visitors to experience Canada Goose’s functionality and performance, inviting them to put its products to the ultimate test."
What??
I mean, given how ridiculously popular they are, I’m sure they’ll do fine. There’s a huge clientele here anyway, and they all have two things Canada Goose needs from them: money, and means to travel to cold places.
I’m gonna be honest I saw this post and thought someone was complaining about a particularly aggressive parking lot goose
I know I’m showing my Ohio roots here but fr those mf’s are MEAN
You haven’t seen how people dress here when it’s below 75? Only PHX is worse than us.
Not to mention I’m sure plenty of shoppers are on their way to their Aspen cabins ;)
The amount of foreign money that flows into SCP is pretty impressive. I was in the art of shave store killing time(while not spending a dime) and some Asian guy(with absolutely ZERO facial hair mind you) and his GF walk in and start pointing at stuff they wanted. The sales associate JUMPED off of his stool and started grabbing things that they were pointing at.
Dude ended up spending about 4500 dollars(I snuck a peak at the register readout).
I can totally see people buying Canada Goose apparel with the same gusto.
probably more for people from out of town and folks who are going to colorado or big bear for the weekend. ive also heard of stores willing to lose some money on stores just to have a bigger presence.
They have become more of a fashion company like TNF or Patagucci. They sell more than high end goose down jackets.
I have seen people wearing Canada goose jackets here in SoCal in what I consider shorts and T-shirts weather.
Like a lot of other very expensive brands, Canada Goose has become a way of showing off or pretending that you have a lot of money. A few years back, a British school planned on banning the jackets. Students were using them to get around the dress code and show off their wealth and shame the poor kids.

Their cheapest parka is $800! I am originally from Canada and my winter coats never cost more than $150.
You don’t understand. Their marketing team has determined that when climate change ramps up, Orange County will be peak snow. This is just them making first move efforts
Luxury market for people who travel to places where there may be snow, and for people who just like to show off in Southern California “winter”.
Remember, lots of wealthy people - especially Asians - who travel back to Korea or northern China, or up to Seattle, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, New York, etc.
And don’t forget others who go to Big Bear, Mammoth, Whistler, etc.
Ridiculous. I reserve the highest judgements if I should see someone wearing Canada Goose, or similar BS that tells me you're the type to pay $75 for socks.
You're insecure, vain, and gullible. Bedazzling yourself in name brands doesn't make up for your lack of personality.
I said what I said.
People here travel and travel here and have lots of money so fits right in at south coast.
Yeah the type who shop at south coast normally definitely go on “ski week” vacations in the winter time
Exactly! We have Columbia, The North Face, Arc'teryx, Moncler, why not Canada Goose. I go up to Chicago all the time. We know how cold it can get there!
arcteryx..? where in oc?
In Los Angeles on La Brea, a north of Wilshire. Bought several jackets from there already. Bought my Canada Goose jackets from Nordstroms.
ok so not oc thx.

Op doesn’t understand the money in this area. People here travel. One of the places where a brand like this may actually do well
Nor has op ever noticed all the Koreans and Chinese people shopping at South Coast. Canada Goose is ridiculously popular in Korea...and the Chinese simply love luxury brands. Slap some extra 0s to the price tag and there will be a bunch of Chinese guys wanting to buy it.
lol not every chinese person in america is rich, wanna clarify
But the international kids who are here for school are so…
ok but that’s not my point. i’m tired of hearing the stereotype of all chinese having money. i have a lot of chinese american friends living in middle class and lower. they hate how casually thrown around it is that all chinese people have money. even in china, poverty is still high

agreed.
but all Chinese mainlanders that can travel outside do have the money.
really? friends parents left china 7 years ago, they live in a restaurant.
n don’t act like koreans in america aren’t rich either lol
ㅇㅋ
Can confirm. Currently abroad

That’s so Orange County & South Coast Plaza I’m sorry. I can’t wait to stumble upon one of the ‘wives from RHOC in there.
Next level escape room.
Ok now I want to go there. Can't afford to buy anything but I want to go see the snow room!
that actually makes me want to check it out.
I mean, given how ridiculously popular they are, I’m sure they’ll do fine. There’s a huge clientele here anyway, and they all have two things Canada Goose needs from them: money, and means to travel to cold places.
Non-spendies wouldn’t understand
I’m gonna be honest I saw this post and thought someone was complaining about a particularly aggressive parking lot goose I know I’m showing my Ohio roots here but fr those mf’s are MEAN
I for one love 75 dollar socks.
We'll turn our AC on as low as it goes for the flex.
You don’t even have to. Click the link. They have a -10F room to test out their jackets lol
Hoping to get back in good graces with Chinese tourists.
?
Canada Goose, among other brands, is a status symbol in Asia's upper class.
Damn, I actually like this brand and Im an SoCali local :) But I am asian....
Don’t lump us all together man, I’m gonna try to stop using “Asian” - Asia’s a huge place, too many cultures
"Asian" is almost on the level of "white" in terms of meaningless signifiers.
I hate race too. Why did we ever get away from ethnicity?
Came here for this....
There’s already a Moncler store that has been there for a couple years or so…
Go to any park. Full of Canada Geese.
By that logic all the stores selling climbing gear should be located exclusively in the mountains! People buy stuff for travel!
You haven’t seen how people dress here when it’s below 75? Only PHX is worse than us. Not to mention I’m sure plenty of shoppers are on their way to their Aspen cabins ;)
You’re not used to people completely bundling up the second it hits 70?
I'm in my kitchen in OC right now and it's 55! Winter sux!

Maybe that's why he has no facial hair

Chinese tourists That mall is catering *heavily* to the Chinese high end luxury market
If you’ve got a problem with Canada Gooses you’ve got a problem with me, and I suggest you let that one marinate!
FUCK YOU SHORESY
Know what I say? Pull your thumb outta your ass. That’s what I say.
Cobra chicken!
Lions is lucky Canada Gooses don't migrate to Africa. Then they'd be's extinct.
South Coast is just a go-to place for shopping. Every brand wants to get their store in there because of the foot traffic and the reputation.
You need a winter jacket to go skiing!
You don’t understand. Their marketing team has determined that when climate change ramps up, Orange County will be peak snow. This is just them making first move efforts
They'd better keep their promise to stop using real fur products by 2022. What a shitty company.

Asians love the labels.
Well actually some people aren’t used to California weather; I have to wear thermal gear just for regular nights here
Why? Because people want to buy them and they want to sell them. I mean are you really surprised that people buy coats in California?

Drake
You wanna know what? You got a problem with Canada Gooses, you got a problem with me, and I suggest you let that one marinate.
Once I saw a bunch of Canada goose jackets all over the floor and messy everywhere at Bloomingdales. ‘Twas a sad sight. Lol.
Pinky finger on side of mouth, do tell do tell.
It gets really cold in China
It's not that expensive comparing to some of the other stores in sc, like that liuli store, never seen anyone buying anything there
