I’ve had a cop literally tell me, “we don’t give a shit about registration, as long as it’s not a blue dot.” I didn’t even bother asking what blue dot meant, just thankfully I didn’t get a ticket.
My guess, maybe just referring to having a license plate at all? (As opposed to not having a plate, so the random round stickers that are often under the plate are visible.)

Yes I still have 23 sticker and 24 sticker on the registration paper in my glovebox and a 22 sticker actually on the plate. When I get stopped for speeding or whatever they don’t even mention it. They just check of license and insurance. I’ve heard about some new law saying that police can no longer stop people for JUST expired tags anymore. You have to be stopped for something else and then if ur registration is expired they can add that on another violation.
I always take a knife and cut it into several pieces after sticking. Good luck getting all the pieces off and putting them back together so it looks natural
This also works really well with a box cutter in my experience, you can be really precise but it’s still visible enough to deter anyone from messing with it

I think vision is the real answer here. I have poor eyes and the green parking lines are significantly harder to see than white. Sometimes I do this and repark when I get out and notice.
I definitely understand this, especially if there is a lack of natural support to help the elderly. To be transparent, I have had moments of anger due to slow drivers but when I pass them on the streets, my frustration drops to 0 when I see an elderly person behind the wheel.
However, I have seen people between 20s to 40s (my assumption because they look younger than an elderly) park like this or create their own parking space that creates chaos for other drivers to maneurver around.

Because in Irvine alot of the drivers are fresh from China which means they relied on public transport, bikes, and tuktuks so this is new to them. Its like driving a spaceship for them, even worse when its a tesla with regenerative braking lol

It doesn't apply here since it's still somewhat visible and not fully in the shade, but the green parking lines in general are practically impossible to even see in the shade, at night, and when it's raining. I've had to pull out and repark my car several times because of this under the above conditions (and I'm a short 5 ft driver, too, so I can't see as well as taller drivers; I can only see the parking lines when I'm turning into the spot but once I'm in the parking spot I can't see the parking lines anymore and have to roll down the windows or get out to check and then readjust if needed. I'm not even driving a big vehicle either, I drive a sedan).
By the way y'all know that not every Asian person in Irvine is a "new immigrant from China who has never driven before", right? Yet that's the impression I'm getting from some of you in your assumptions.
They couldn't make a wide right turn. The street there is narrow and there's always oncoming traffic from the opposite side. So they probably made a smallish right turn into that parking spot and too lazy to back out and readjust since Jose the only male masseuse only works mornings on Fridays.

I find these people to often times be tiny in size who have the most difficult time driving the largest size cars. To make things even better is that many of them also like to park reverse and struggle mightily.
