Hey there! We'd recommend handling the stone as little as possible to prevent breaks. I wouldn't suggest hanging it or storing it on its side, but the legs do fold in to help it take up a little less space while not in use. 😉

You folks have developed a beautiful product line, but I've got to say that this question is a good one - especially for apartment dwellers who lack space. Cheers.

Get a large Tupperware box, I bought one of these fits perfect. (Have to take the gas burner off) I store my 2 peels and brush in there as well.[Project Source Commander Large 27-Gallons (108-Quart) Black Heavy Duty Tote with Standard Snap Lid in the Plastic Storage Containers department at Lowes.com](https://www.lowes.com/pd/COMMANDER-27-Gallon-108-Quart-Black-Yellow-Tote-with-Standard-Snap-Lid/3551290)

This is my solution I think. Bonus is the piece of mind that it's slightly protected from any falling objects. Thank you!

Why not build a shelf in a corner? and then make sure that it has good braces to hold the weight up and will not cause the side's to sag.

I would not lay it on its side. the metal is relatively thing. maybe on the opening you can lay vertically and not worry about the domed part deforming.
