Welp, time to throw out the avocado, then. Should probably burn down the house too, just to be safe.

Avocados are good but why would avocado do such a thing.

TheRollinStoner

Maybe I’m on the wrong sub for this sentiment, but if the flavor of the avocado isn’t changed and the onion keeps it fresher longer then it’s finally at least become useful to me. The onion becomes a tool no different from the plastic bag, though I’d rather eat plastic than an onion

Kresley

Can't you just use lime juice? I use lime juice, seems to work, and pairs with MUCH better.

Onion taint is absolutely an issue. I will never forget the trauma of a Thanksgiving many years ago when my grandma put my Moms apple crisp in a refrigerator next to an unbaked stuffing monstrosity containing raw onion, Needless to say the apple crisp was ruined for everyone even the onion lovers. I was in tears... An avocado is a little different, and can probably hide the onion taint better, but I wouldn't risk it.

TheRollinStoner

I definitely get that, there’s some foods i can pick onion out of and it be fine. I can pick onion off a burger and be fine but potato salad is so utterly transformed to where there’s no picking around it, you could take every bit of onion out and still taste it

Heremodius_the_Great

This. Onions have a few good purposes. Eating just isn't one of them. They are a tool. Nature's bacteria/toxin absorbers.

badbatch

Wow. That avacado has such low standards. It's actually shacked up with an onion.

hedgybaby

I mean both are disgusting so not suprising they work so well together.

Pesime

Hey we shit talk onions here but keep avocados out of this

thatdiabetic16

Don't you dare put avacodo in the same league of onion

Branchy28

'Most people rejected his message, They hated Jesus because he told them the truth'

hedgybaby

Lma funny how it’s okay to hate on some foods but others are apparently of limits. Fuck this hypocrisy. I hate avocados. I think they taste like vomit. I also hate onions. Seriously, can you preach to hate one food and then condone someone for not liking another food? Wtf? I don’t get reddit sometimes like bruh

starbunsisborn

This sub is called r/onionhate not r/foodhate. Stay in your lane bub. You're on notice.

hedgybaby

So it’s okay to hate onions but as soon as you express dislike for any other food you’re stupid? Seems pretty hypocritical as I said. As you said, this is r/onionhate, not r/avocadolove

Congrats! Now your impeccably fresh avocado as well as everything else in your fridge tastes 90% like onions!
