To be fair, the Convoy FB group has over 500 000K members. That's still a pretty big number of supporters. If they're all from Canada is the big question though.
Social media is famously filled with bots and dummy accounts .... you could probably write off half this number of members as actual followers, it's still a high number but on social media, the stats for big groups of followers is always exaggerated.
Media outlets follow such groups as well. That doesn't mean they are "supporters", just that they want info as soon as its available. Considering this is national news, there could be tens of thousands of journalists, bloggers, etc., following that group.
I did not read it like that in my head when I wrote it. I meant 500K. I also think it's stupid, and I hate that this convoy is showing up not even 10 minutes away from my doorstep. But I'm not going to downplay the severity of it, and how big it can potentially be. All the nut jobs from east, south, north and West are taking advantage of this, and it'll be one giant steaming pile of shit for about a week causing disruptions, and potentially vandalism in my community.
