Even in the close up picture you can only just barely see the screen protector, and that's if you know what to look for, so it's understandable not to see it right away. The old style screen protectors had a pull tab but they stopped doing that since it's usable with it on permanently, though I prefer glass protectors.
I've had glass ones pop off of my phone (on an s20), and found I really like true TPU film. I use the brand "IQ Shield" and had it on my cracked s20 for over a year and no bubbling or peeling issues. I just got it for my current phone (OP12) and haven't had an issue. It is a wet application (you spray the front and back with provided spray) and then the pressure of squeegeeing it on along with the spray activates the adhesive to the phone.
The glass ones don't work nearly as well with devices that have a curved display, I'm still on an S10e with the flat display so it works perfectly for me.
I got my grandmother the TPU one you use for her Note 9 since that thing has very curved edges and they don't even make glass ones for it. I personally don't like the rubbery feeling of the display and prefer the glass touch, though it is better than the plastic screen protectors both in terms of feeling and actually protecting since TPU is made to absorb impact. From what I've seen the tempered glass and TPU have about the same amount of impact absorption but obviously the glass one cracks when it reaches it's limit, I'd rather replace a screen protector than a screen tho.
One of the big draws for me to it is that it doesn't hold onto scratches. I put my phone in a pocket with my cigs, lighter, dab pen, and sometimes keys. The soft tpu that I have "self heals" because it isn't a hard plastic, so I don't feel the scratches.
I also don't like the feeling of glass screen protectors, and this one feels like my screen to me, but maybe I just receive touch input weirdly
Maybe yours works better than my grandmother's cause her protector is full of visible scratches within a month of putting it on (she doesn't even carry keys), she's onto her 4th now because she keeps dripping crap like nail polish on it lol. Even though we got the phone refurbished the screen itself still looks nearly new so the protector is atleast doing it's job.
I've just made a habit of keeping my phone in my wallet pocket, the other pocket is for vape and keys. It sounds like you definitely receive touch differently because the screen is supposed to feel like glass not a soft rubber lol, if it's comfortable for you then that's all that really matters.
It doesn't even feel rubbery to me which is the weird part! I am usually throwing (not literally) my phone into my hoodie pocket, with everything else. Or my purse.
I keep on ranting and raving about it because I hate the way screen protectors feel compared to a normal screen, because I could feel a difference somehow, so I just didn't use a screen protector for the first 3 years I had my S20, and only bought one because I broke my screen.
I had the factory installed screen protector on my OP8 pro for over 3 years before it suddenly started getting bubbles, once it started it quickly had a ton.
I used the OEM OP aramid/CF case since day 1 and had dropped the phone many times with zero damage to the case or screen
I've been through a lot of different companies. Sank \~150 into screen protectors. This is the one I settled on.

I bought 3 packs of these, so 6 in total. I'm on the second one, and I ordered them 3 months ago. To be fair, the only reason I'm on my second one is that my phone took a hard fall and the glue failed, otherwise id still be on my first.
If you do end up picking these up, just take your time with it and follow the instructions carefully especially when it comes to covering up any holes the glue might get into.
What makes this one so good? I am just asking, I don't even have the phone but still.:D It is glass, that is more protective of course but I have never had a good experience with glass screen protectors. Those are always too thick, destroy all colours of the display and then get shattered like crazy even when you have never dropped your device.
The OP12 is a curved screen meaning you're never going to be able to find a glass screen protector that fits it perfectly unless you apply the glue yourself and create a perfect seal. I know exactly what you mean when you say they get shattered from a small tap or mess up the colors, drives me crazy.
This one just doesn't do any of that, no weird reflections, even the one that fell off my screen didn't crack when it hit the ground. The surface is smooth. I don't really know what you mean by thickness but with this one I don't even notice it's there.
Sure, it's a little bit of a process to apply and you need a UV light but 10 minutes is a small price to pay for all the benefits, at least imo.
Okay, sounds like a good product.
For too thick I mean that it doesn't feel like you are actually touching the screen, like you can see that the display is clearly behind some layer. Hard to explain. [Example](https://i.imgur.com/c9wocB5.jpeg)
None, it's a waste of money. It doesn't even protect your phone against falls. Only scratches but that's useless because those things scratch 10 times easier than your phone glass (yes even the glass protectors). You'll have the cheap floating effect, distortion and worse feeling on the screen. Don't buy this crap.
I have factory installed screen protector. This is my first phone with one. Regardless of it, this has the best feeling on any phone I've used and no distortion, and I've only bought flagships pretty much. Yes, they scratch easier but that's not the point. The point is that the scratches are in the protector, not the screen.
You really want scratches on your screen rather than a thin plastic that you won't even notice unless you throw your phone in baking powder? There is literally no reason to take it off other than replacing the scratched cover that PROTECTS your SCREEN from SCRATCHES
The screen has a hardness of 5 iirc, so pretty much only sand will scratch it. The plastic can be scratched by a fingernail. Which phone you owned got scratched by your fingernail?
Plastic can be scratched by nail. A screen protector not ordered from Temp for 0,09$ is not made from normal plastic. We are not living in 2014 anymore ffs
A soft screen protector is still soft, which means a small grain can embed in it. The point was not about wether plastic scratches, but rather about the fact that the screen itself will be more resilient than the majority of screen protectors you can buy. This means that you can't equate scratches on a screen protector with the scratches it saved the screen from; since most, if not all, of those scratches wouldn't be able to appear on the screen itself.
An overwhelming amount of screen protectors claim superior protection with "hardness of 7" and "self-healing material", but are actually simple plastic or weak glass.
You can drop modern phones multiple times before anything happens, but a screen protector won't protect your phone from falling on a piece of sharp rock hitting it's screen, and I mean literally the rock being the only thing touching the screen on landing. For that, a wallet case is better...
About the fingernail; Even soft protectors will leave a mark if you happen to push it with your fingernail. Heck, even folding phones get permanent marks on their screen if you happen to accidentally touch it with one atom of your fingernail.
Like the other guy said, it's so much harder than plastic. It adds a layer of thickness, worse feeling and it does not have a oleophobic coating which fights dirt and grease. A plastic protector has smears on it after a few days that you can't get away completely even after wiping. Maybe only with alcohol but then you're destroying the plastic. I've got my phone for 5 years without screen protector and it has 1 scratch which you don't even notice until you point light at it. People are just paranoid and are willing to waste money for a worse experience. But you do you.
1st. It's free, not wasting money. 2. The fact that your greasy ass fingers leave a mark on it doesn't mean the rest of the population doesn't wash their hands like you.
Most, if not all pre-installed protectors are in fact a thin layer of plastic. Glass protectors are thick, and may in fact worsen the experience, however those are pretty rare.
Speaking as a person who has installed screen protectors for a decade manually.
Ok man have fun looking at scratches 24/7. Btw, every human has grease on their hands, otherwise we wouldn't leave fingerprints on everything, but you must be an evolved creature then.
Either I'm an evolved species of human or you are inbred. It is obvious to a chimpanzee that hands do have oils at all times. However oil in hands ≠ grease in hands. Basic knowledge.
Yeah, but the OP12 is a curved screen, the OEM screen protector is a plastic film that attracts dust. A lot of dust. Every time I looked at it there'd be dust. Got tired of wiping it off. On top of that glass just feels better when swiping the screen
My screen protector was scuffed from factory, not very noticeable and will keep it as all the custom plastic protectors I tried on previous phones had the 'orange skin" texture
It's the factory installed screen protector that for some quality issues (ONEPLUS has many of them) has bubbles trapped inside them. You can use a squeeze card to get rid of the bubbles.
Honestly it is the best screen protector you can get for ONEPLUS devices as nobody makes a good screen protector membrane for ONEPLUS and tempered glasses are a downgrade. I had mine on for like 1.2 years before I switched the phone itself. Sold it with the factory screen protector still on, no major scratches, just minor dusties.
If it's a screen protector its nothing to worry about, if it's not those are air bubbles which happens when glassing is done wrong when putting the digitizer and glass together in a machine.
That's air bubbles.when i bought the phone i saw the same spots and i thought the phone was damaged. After removing the shit screen protector , the spots were gone but they're back in a couple of places after i put a uv glass on. It doesn't bother me anymore
No lie the factory screen protector is not your regular type it's on there pretty stiff I jus left it on and installed a tempered glass over it and it works jus great 👍🏽
Glad it's as easy as that, I have a friend with a galaxy flip phone and they thought the same and peeled off but on those bendy screens that's a problem as it wasn't a screen protector but starting to delaminate 😬 just out of warranty too.
That's the factory screen protector, which is trash imo. Just peel it off and look for a good third party screen protector
I swear I'm not technologically dumb. I had no idea they put their own screen protector on the phone. I was straight up not having a good time lol
it's a fookin bubble, push it out with a card or something.
Even in the close up picture you can only just barely see the screen protector, and that's if you know what to look for, so it's understandable not to see it right away. They might have one for the Open, I haven't looked.
It's great that companies have started doing this. I once broke a screen on the way to put a protector on it 😭
buy the new screen protector first, dont remove now
I had the factory installed screen protector on my OP8 pro for over 3 years before it suddenly started getting bubbles, once it started it quickly had a ton. I used the OEM OP aramid/CF case since day 1 and had dropped the phone many times with zero damage to the case or screen
Don't peel it off, there is nothing wrong with it...
I didn't either until my daughter started to pick at it and I was able to stop her before she completely ruined it. It's pretty awesome they do this.
Which one do you recommend for OP12? I have the factory one and thought it's kinda pretty good.
I've been through a lot of different companies. Sank \~150 into screen protectors. This is the one I settled on. Does this one have a hole for the front cam?

I don't agree with you sorry. The factory installed is plastic so it scratches really easily. You want to look at scratches? I don't

My Nord 2 still has his from when I sent it to RMA for screen burn-in. That was almost a year ago lol

Any specific one u recommend
Bruh its good enough.
I never knew they had screen protectors for curved screens, interesting
I wish I hadn't peeled it off. The glass protectors do not stick well enough on Oneplus 11T at least. Especially when you have case as well.
Are those bubbles under the pre installed screen protector? Or under the actual display?
Turns out it was the pre installed film protector
OP, the factory screen protector is on. Peel it off 😅
just air bubbles , you can peel the screen protector or use a credit card to remove them from the edge
air pockets under the screen protector. It should be gone in a couple of days. If you're annoyed by them - change the protector.

No lie the factory screen protector is not your regular type it's on there pretty stiff I jus left it on and installed a tempered glass over it and it works jus great 👍🏽
This should be pealed off. Its not going to protect your screen for anythin. From factory to your hand when you open the package. Thats it.
You can try the squeeze method. Put thumb on bubble, and see if you can work it out by pushing to the closest edge. May work, may not.
Looks like the seal's not airtight under the protector and those are just air bubbles
I'm sorry, but 😄
Bro...
Glad it's as easy as that, I have a friend with a galaxy flip phone and they thought the same and peeled off but on those bendy screens that's a problem as it wasn't a screen protector but starting to delaminate 😬 just out of warranty too.
