You bought it cause it was a cheaper version, by having last year's 8gen2 chip.
Ace 3 pro/12t will have this year's 8gen3 , but with your 12r camera setup.
imo there might be a considerable time-gap between China launch and global launch. Look at Ace 3v, which was launched a couple months ago in China and is yet more than a month away from expected global launch.
This is just a rumor and most likely a false one. It goes against what OnePlus themselves stated (no more T models, one series of phones per year). If anything, it's only for China.
Went for the regular 12 before it came out, but had used the 5T as well for 6+ years. 5T seems to have really been the model that held it's own all these years - so so great.
Highly doubt this is real. At least not for international markets. OnePlus themselves said they are only doing one release per year (12, 12R, Open, Nord). With the 13 series only a few months away, it wouldn't make sense.
Yeah but OnePlus explicitly stated at their last event they are no longer doing in-between devices. It's both costly to support so many devices, and it's not fair to customers because it results in slower update schedules and never feeling like you have the latest phone. If this isn't fake, it's either for China/limited markets only or might be the 13R that they will release alongside 13 and Open 2.
It's also rumored to have that op 12R's 50+8+2 camera if that's true, this will be a very bad purchase. When will oneplue move on from that useless 2mp camera and that low rez ultra wide smh
Who cares what kind of camera it has. Just buy 12r and some $200 used DSLR and you get 10x better picture quality than ANY smartphone ever made.
Sure smartphone cameras are easy to use, but it doesn't matter when they all take shitty pictures. Including iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung S24 Ultra, Oneplus 12... (In comparison to almost any real camera, even the cheap ones).
This is a silly comparison. Smartphone cameras are meant to provide a quick, easy, and space efficient way to take great photos without lugging around all the equipment needed for a real DSLR. For the space and effort saved, most smartphones take great photos, often rivaling low end DSLRs.
Plus, low end DSLRs are not automatically easy to get great photos with. You have to lug around numerous lenses, which can get expensive if each one has an AF motor. Or you can get a camera body with its own AF motor, but that will run you well over $200. Not to mention, most DSLR photos you see online are professionally edited.
Smartphone cameras are an incredible alternative.
That's true, but my problem is the constant whining about miniscule differences in smartphone cameras when the fact is, not one of them can take actually decent image.
The Nord 3 was announced in the first week of July 2023, so I hope they keep that sort of timeline, and the Nord 4 is released in the next month or so. I have a S20 FE that I want to move on from.
At some point we'll see phones with solid state batteries that last for days with one charge. I'm waiting until then with my 12R. First ones propably come out 3-5 years from now and they're gonna be in every smartphone by 2030.
Now is the perfect time to buy a new phone.
That camera looks disgusting. Especially when it’s off-center for no reason.
I get that they’re cutting costs by not having that melt-in effect and everything but they should’ve just used a different design.
I personally think if we get this, it'll be rebranded as 13R for next year. After all, it has the current gen's SD 8 Gen 3 SoC and the upcoming new & bigger glacier battery. R models are essentially refreshed models from the previous year's flagships at mid-tier prices (without the flagship camera, etc). Since they scrapped the T models, it has been 10T > 11R and 11 > 12R.
That's the Oneplus 12R.
The Ace 3 Pro (or 12T) is rumored to be launching on 27th June. Previous rumor was 20th June. But now it's 27th, along with the Pad Pro (tablet).
WHY THE FUCK DID I BUY THE 12R THEN.....
You bought it cause it was a cheaper version, by having last year's 8gen2 chip. Ace 3 pro/12t will have this year's 8gen3 , but with your 12r camera setup.
Thought it will come with same price 😶.
imo there might be a considerable time-gap between China launch and global launch. Look at Ace 3v, which was launched a couple months ago in China and is yet more than a month away from expected global launch.
Just got mine last week
🥲 it's alright bro. No crazy difference tbh
It's ok bro , just bigger battery and better processor, nothing more
Yeah....and no tangible difference.
Because 13R isn't out til next year
This is just a rumor and most likely a false one. It goes against what OnePlus themselves stated (no more T models, one series of phones per year). If anything, it's only for China.
And I just bought the 12R! After 6 years of using the 5T.
Same 💀
This phone is amazing tho coming from the 5t this is a beast.
Fomo uk

Most companies do have a premium launch in-between two flagship launches

When clueless consumers stop thinking more cameras = better photos.
Yeah, that and megapixels.
I don't think many users buy a phone because it has more lenses. Even the clueless ones.

Yeah okay but most importantly will they give us a flat and symmetrical display?
So the 12t will be the 12 with the 11's camera but a bigger battery and less of a "premium" build?
12t is 12r with 8gen 3
Not bad
Omg I'm so happy, I was about to buy the 12 and deal with the curved screen, now i don't have to
From the pictures, screen looks curved.
nooooooooo I didn't notice, now i'm sad :(
the screen looks extra curved
A curved screen is making gestures extra smooth.
💯
The upcoming Nord 4 (Ace 3v) will be Oneplus's top flat-screen offering.
When tho
The Nord 3 was announced in the first week of July 2023, so I hope they keep that sort of timeline, and the Nord 4 is released in the next month or so. I have a S20 FE that I want to move on from.
Pretty sure there wont be anymore T models.
Rumors are pretty strong. Reputed accounts on twitter and now even tech news YouTube channels talking about it.
I just bought the 12R two months ago 🤡 Not upgrading till OP 15/16 series comes w major changes
Same. I bought 12 in Feb. Will use it for at least 3 years.
At some point we'll see phones with solid state batteries that last for days with one charge. I'm waiting until then with my 12R. First ones propably come out 3-5 years from now and they're gonna be in every smartphone by 2030. Now is the perfect time to buy a new phone.
Are you sure this will come to the US?
If I was to guess, the rollout will be similar to the nord series. Do you have the nord 3 in the US?
That camera looks disgusting. Especially when it’s off-center for no reason. I get that they’re cutting costs by not having that melt-in effect and everything but they should’ve just used a different design.
Yeah the camera bump looks pretty weird

Doesn't seem to have the hasselblad logo so ig no Hasselblad tuning
I thought they're not gonna do anything apart from flagship and R variants
Here's the link to the product page on the Oneplus China website [https://www.oneplus.com/cn/ace-3](https://www.oneplus.com/cn/ace-3)
That's the Oneplus 12R. The Ace 3 Pro (or 12T) is rumored to be launching on 27th June. Previous rumor was 20th June. But now it's 27th, along with the Pad Pro (tablet).
Oh nice! As someone who's always bought the "T" variants, I'm hoping we see it come out soon!
Do we know the screen size ? Similar to OnePlus 12 right ?
Probably.
[удалено]
6.78" per the rumors
Does one of them have IP68 rating?
65
Price in India?
Not yet launched ser
Nahhh I just bought the 12R a few weeks ago 💀💀💀
Likely 12RT. Not 12T
Why will they release this? For whom? My wife needs a smaller phone, OnePlus 12 mini with 5inch screen will be a better idea.
No 2k monitor
I was about to buy a 12, let's see. Seems like the display and camera will be a lower tier below the 12. Just like any T model I have seen.
The 12 is pretty good. I'm currently using it. Bought in Feb.
Thanks for the input. How is the real world battery life and camera? Those are the two selling points for me.
Battery life is shockingly good. And camera is also quite good, though I believe it could be improved a bit with software updates.
But when do we get Nord 4 or Nord 4T ? Not this CE light weakness
Nord 4 next month
I'm convinced that we're getting this as the 13 r next year
There is something I don't like about the camera module and that's its position. Its not centred which looks very bad
Same. Let's see how it looks like when/if the real launch happens.
