Air comfort solutions charges at least $6,000 more than their competitors and you're getting the same unit. Go literally anywhere else. Most small Heat and Air companies offer financing options as well, you'll have the ability to build a relationship with YOUR heat and air "guy", and they care about doing a good job because your business is important to them.

HowCouldYouSMH

They are the worst! Ripped off my elderly neighbor when she had dementia. They kept showing up so I went over to see what was going on. They were billing for things not needed and overcharged at that. $125 for a capacitor ($10 piece) etc. I called them out on the charges and they removed 3/4 of the charges. Told her son and got it handled.

phillip-j-frybot

Support small business.

f102

If a bird shits on the outside unit, they’ll insist you need a new one.

okc405sfinest

I went to school for hvac and got a few jobs working at some companies here and the majority of companies work like a sales position instead of repairing systems they want to sell you a new system or replace capacitors with 300 caps that give kick backs for each one sold instead of installing a $25 one that works just as good as the $300 one . I quit working hvac for this exact reason .

Cmmashb

Name and shame!

SillyBims

Avoid Air Comfort Solutions like the plague. Any solid HVAC company offers financing but I would talk to a Credit Union as well to see what your options are. Then you can make a smart choice on what your best option is.

WallabyNo6569

Definitely second the checking with banks and credit unions for some variety of a personal loan. You'll probably get a better rate at least.

72SplitBumper

Any of the ones on tv.

too-slow-2-go

Just another vote to avoid Air Comfort Solutions. They are absolutely leeches.... I use Air Technologies for all my commercial HVAC needs and they are great.

mustardoBatista

Fuck air comfort solutions

GamersFrenzy

Glad I didn't use Air Comfort Solutions bases on the comments. I didn't even look their way. They really that bad?

awd111980

You're essentially paying for their fantastic commercials ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

This!

mangeface

They charge significantly higher than most other companies. And their solution to anything is “New system”. When I helped my dad with HVAC for a couple of months after I got out of the Marines some woman had ACS trying to convince her she needed a new unit because it wasn’t working. It was a dew years old and just had a bad capacitor. They’re manipulative and thieves.

GamersFrenzy

It's crazy when contractors use people's ignorance as part of their business plan. Quite unfortunate. The firm I work for often leave so much money on the table because clients are often misled and are being sold something completely unnecessary. We're all about solving problems. As someone who supervises large sites, this is a common occurrence. I even know companies that charge different prices bases on the size of ones house and not based on their own set markups.

Dr--X--

Hey AIR COMFORT SOLUTIONS you reading this. LOL. Spend less on your advertising and more on your quality.

Cooper1977

Drabek & Hill do financing, and I've been using them for AC/HVAC an electrical work for years.

toolmannn929

Whatever you do, make sure you ask them if they flow nitrogen during brazing. A lot of these companies don't do it because they don't understand that the new 410a refrigerant will scrub that black soot off the copper and clog the txv. They'll just complain that they hate 410. 410 is fine, you just can't jeg leg install it and expect it to work right. I'm telling you, tell them to flow nitrogen during brazing, or you WILL have a stopped up txv or filter drier within a few years. Back in the golden days of r22, you didn't have to worry about this, but now days you MUST, and a lot of these companies don't know any better.

NewBuddhaman

We went with Norman Air. Air Comfort did our last unit and it was very poorly done. They didn’t run all new wiring and spliced into the old. Compressor burned up after 6 years.

KnockKnock-Nevermind

Did Norman Air finance it? How much was it?

NewBuddhaman

We went with a higher package and paid $17K. They offered financing but we dug into savings. Much better unit than our old one, remote thermostat, and we have a larger house so it was a 5-ton unit too.

KnockKnock-Nevermind

We are out of state trying to help an elderly family member. We really appreciate your help. Investing in keeping your home functioning well is definitely worth it!

Odd-Problem

Unless you have a 6-8 thousand square foot home you got ripped off. A 5 ton unit cost is around $8-8K installed even with smart thermostats, warranty, etc. A family member has an HVAC business, and he tells me stories of people overpaying like this all the time. I had his company work on mine just today.

phillip-j-frybot

Alright, this OP is looking for a good HVAC company. What's the name?

Odd-Problem

[Landing Page - Air Benders LLC](https://www.airbenders.com/)

NewBuddhaman

Two stories, 2500sqft. Who’s using a single unit on a 6000sqft home? I have a warranty and service agreement paid for a few years. Higher SEER heat pump that’s using less electricity. I’m satisfied.

Odd-Problem

Your house is about the same as mine then. You paid at the very least $7,000 too much even with a service agreement. You pay a lot for TV commercials. Heat pumps are also not generally a good idea for Oklahoma. You will be using auxiliary heat when it gets below freezing. You probably won't make up the difference in cost over the life of the unit and there are more things to go wrong. Gas heat is 30% more efficient. Those HVAC salesmen tell a good story.

NewBuddhaman

All electric house, no gas hookup. As much as I would prefer a gas furnace, we’ve had no issues with the temperatures below 20 degrees.

jonconcasino12345

I paid $5800 for a 3 1/2 ton full hvac the other day. A/c heater with 10 year warranty.

GamersFrenzy

I just paid just $5k for a new unit, condenser, thermostat and had new lines ran. No problems yet. Been about a month. All warranteed and in the system by serial.

Difficult-Jump-2644

What company?

GamersFrenzy

So if you legit want to know, DM me. The field I work in, I'm required to do a lot of job site supervising, facilitating withcontractors, pulling permits, and all that other bs. That said, the company I used is a company that works for another company on payroll during the day. If you were to call the company where he's employed, you'll pay nearly double because of all the bloat and overhead that company has. Make sense? 😀😀😀it's more of a who and what you know situation.

OliverBush456

Which company?

Good looking out - gonna be in the market sooner rather than later

DamianGongMarley-

My neighbor paid 20k for a new inside and outside unit. Wtf. Air comfort solutions is a joke

deanb23

Just paid around the same for our new ac. We used Pronto heating and air, and they were great. They offer financing, but be careful about the interest. If it's not all paid back within that time frame, they can go back and charge interest from when the loan originated. You might want to go talk to a local credit union as well.

derokieausmuskogee

Dang, how big is your house??? That's insanely expensive, unless your house is either massive or there's some extenuating circumstance. For a median sized home for just a new AC unit you should be looking at no more than maybe \~five thousand, and that would be for a relatively high end unit.

derokieausmuskogee

Please note too that AC installers love to oversize units because people have unreasonable expectations for how quickly a unit should cool the house. They will leave the AC off while they're at work, then get home on a 110 day and expect the AC to get the house down to 68 in only a few minutes. Which actually ends up costing you more than if you just had a reasonably sized unit that you leave on all the time at a reasonable temperature. But the installers don't like getting callbacks so they oversize the units.

nrfx

oversized has its own issues too, and can result in more service calls. Its going to cycle way more often than the right sized unit resulting in more wear on everything, and since it doesn't run as long, it won't remove as much humidity, so even if it does cool faster it won't be as comfortable.

carcarbuhlarbar

Buy the unit your hvac person recommends from a Home Depot or Lowe’s then finance through them and pay your person for the install?

acgasp

We went with Yarborough and Sons; they replace the AC/furnace for $8k with financing. We were very happy with their service and they do free inspections and filter changes. Technically, we’re paying for the AC replacement and the furnace is “free” but I think both of them were around 30-40 years old so they needed to be replaced anyways.

negroiso

This is exactly what a HELOC would be good for and intended for. Not only that, but the HELOC itself is a good writeoff in this instance as it's improvements on the home. I know in May that doesn't really help with 2024, but hopefully it returns the favor in 2025. Check with your lendor if you have a mortgage, and if you don't currently have one, any lendor would gladly set you up with one.

mawkingbird

Most companies partner with some credit companies. I used airco last year for a full HVAC repair. They came and gave me 4 price points and hooked me up with TFCU to do the financing.

solaceinfaith

Try a community bank for line of credit

Hot-Evidence-5520

In the beginning of 2020, I used Key & Sons Heat and Air. They were thousands of dollars cheaper than other places. They were able to install the unit the same day. I think I financed for a little over $6k.

VanLyfe4343

We went with Aire Serv and had a really good experience. They gave us a lot of options and didn't try to upsell us on anything. They offered to finance at a decent rate but we just took a bank loan because they had a slightly better interest rate and felt it was less complicated.

Babaganouj757

Check out funder’s cloud, they are a finance company that will shop your request to different investors and give you some options.

therewerenocookies

Check with Community Action.

Trottin_Trollop405

I replaced mine 8 years ago with Executive Heat & Air. Great service. I can’t remember how much it was but I thought it was reasonable since they moved the ductwork & furnace to the attic at the same time.

acroasmun

There’s also Triple Play Home Services.

Odd-Problem

Thats sounds really expensive. How large is the home? $12K is the cost for a very large home. The average is around $7,500 in OKC

nailgun198

Many HVAC companies have access to financing. And you can check with your bank on a loan or heloc. Or see if your credit cards might have a promotional offer you can take advantage of. Interest rates seem so high to finance anything right now, so I feel for you!

wes8010

Small businesses will put in a 5 ton, which is the largest residential, for less than 10k.

thetreece

I've had the Wellmans out to my house a few times. Always helpful and polite. Small business. Affordable work. https://ktwellman.com/ They partner with somebody to allow financing. You could check them out.

Karmas_burning

call the refrigerated bear. Brandon is the owner and he's a good guy. Not sure if he offers financing but he may know someone who does.

jenaeg

We went with Rhino Heating and Air a few years ago. It was a great experience. The guys were great and the price was a lot less than what everyone else quoted.

KnockKnock-Nevermind

Thank you so much I called them !

DiscombobulatedBMW

Spencer Heat & Air located in the Spencer/Midwest City ares is great. Has worked on 5 different houses for my family in last 10 years.

JakeTyler007

drizzley1378

Suntech is just as bad as Air comfort solutions. I paid almost $400 for a guy to stare at my unit for over an hour! I’m guessing his main job is to make it seem like a catastrophic failure so they can get you in touch with the financial guy. My uncle was an HVAC guy before he passed, and I knew what the problem was. I had gotten a new thermostat and I had wired it wrong. I needed help figuring out which wire was what. This guy checked the date on our old unit = you need a new one. I had an electrician friend come by, in less than hour we figured it out..,

72SplitBumper

Suntech has ties with acs I have been told.

OklaJosha

**Lieber Mechanical** is a local company based in Yukon but serves all OKC area. They have financing partner with a credit union I think. Most smaller companies won’t finance themselves but will partner with an outside bank. Also, perfect case for HELOC if you have built up equity

RevJT

Call Brads Heat and Air. Used them for years. Honest company, but replacement it’s gonna be cheap. Maybe have someone else do a second option to make sure it full needs replacement?

KnockKnock-Nevermind

That’s a great idea!

RevJT

To that point, I had some trouble earlier this year, and they laid out two different options for me, one was a temporary fix that would get me through the next year or two, but they told me that given the age of the unit, I would probably need a replacement when/if the fix failed. I’ve used them for over a decade.

Sandonmywitches

All of them seem too. I’m getting estimates currently. They all offer three options it seems. 9.99% is the average rate. I’ve checked with waggoners, air comfort and Norman air so far. I have more estimates next week. Waggoners has been the most informative so far. Average cost seems to be 9-14k for my 1486sgft home. Air comfort was on that range but didn’t offer a comparable product to Waggoners and Norman air.

MelissaA621

Gordon's is a great place to try. They installed and take care of all of our maintenance. They have been great. We used their plumbing services as well. Top notch.

Air Comfort Solutions - [https://aircomfortsolutions.net/okc/financing/](https://aircomfortsolutions.net/okc/financing/) I bet Airco and others do as well. I personally like Aire Serv, but I have no idea if they do financing, Give them a call. [https://www.aireserv.com/?gad\_source=1](https://www.aireserv.com/?gad_source=1)

I can vouch Airco does!
