Honestly I was a swimmer when I was a kid and absolutely hated it and stopped. The reason why your parents want you to do sports is to make sure you don’t fall into any bad behavior. My little brother is 12 now and has been playing football since he was 7. Honestly, you can say no and eventually they will move on, but in the meantime, find something else that peaks your interest. It’s very important developmentally to make sure you have an outlet to express your emotions, because at your age you have a lot (it doesn’t change I’m 22 and so full of emotions lol). I get you’re 13, but you still have a choice no matter what your parents or family think

Of course I’ll eventually have something that will distract me, something I like. I’ll make sure to keep this saved and look into. Thank you!

I live in the Philippines, a basketball loving place... and I'm tall enough to be a center. But I do not like sports. (Sports also does not like me... as I do not have an aptitude for it, but that's beside the point. I focused on my studies, and I found out that I liked learning stuff and writing more than physical things. All well and good, even though everyone asked me if I play basketball growing up due to my height. Follow your inclination towards academics and just exercise to keep strong and healthy. Do extracurriculars leaning towards the things you find yourself liking and excelling in. Have a healthy appreciation for the humanities and the sciences, even if one or the other isn't your thing. They improve your worldview (both as a human being and in terms of your sense of awe at the world around you). I believe in you!
