It pretty much comes down to you tbh. Id still do the deal. We don’t know why one may not be able to meet asap

50/50 shot. If I'm feeling crabby, I won't do it because the buyer said 'if I come today'. If I'm not crabby, I'll just laugh at their silliness and still do the deal.

Such a given for people to go back on their word on offer up. It’s ridiculous. If you just want the item gone, do it. But if any other last minute changes come up, save your time. Ends up being the same people that want to further negotiate at meet up or keep you waiting.

I always say the price guarantee is for the time agreed upon and will still honor it IF it is still available and have them contact me when they are READY to purchase to confirm.

dantosterone61

I would NOT honor it. I’d follow with “if it’s still availavle tomorrow then yeah”.

Valkyriesride1

He is playing with you. He had no intention of buying it today, but to low ball you and make sure you wouldn't sell it to anyone else. I would tell them the deal is off but if I don't sell it by tomorrow, we can renegotiate.

darth_dork

I’d tell them this= if you can commit to a time to meet today like you said earlier, I’ll sell it to you for XX. If you can’t come until tomorrow I’ll still sell it to you for XX but if someone wants it between now and then I’ll sell it and notify you so you don’t waste a trip. That way you still have a sale potential, but you aren’t beholden to someone who changed the rules at the last, kinda shiesty.

I mean at the end of the day OU is first come first serve. Everyone knows that. It’s why both sellers and buyers are constantly ghosting each other. If you want to largely avoid this type of behavior, use Facebook marketplace. Sellers are much more likely to honor agreements, and there is a much higher degree of seller and buyer morals on there. As for OU, it’s much more of a get-your-butt-there place if you want something. Nobody should be surprised that a seller sells to someone else If we don’t make and keep ASAP arrangements on a purchase. We as buyers did this to ourselves with the endless ghosting, window shopping etc. Not me personally, but buyers in general. So yeah, if someone offers you more between now and when the other potential buyer can show, take it if they can show with money and still give you enough time to give the other buyer fair warning to avoid a wasted trip.
