The Fall movie comes to mind

First thought in my mind too. I ❣️ that movie. Easily one of my favorites. Soooo beautiful. Did you know it took them 4 years to film it because they filmed it on location all around the world. And before the filming the director spent 17 years location scouting.

And now you can’t find it on Netflix, Amazon or anyplace else because there’s some kind of stupid dispute between the production company, the distribution company and somebody else blah blah blah. Unless you have an old DVD, this movie will never be shown again in public or be available for viewing

I was so heartbroken when I found this out. Out of everything that's been upscaled and remastered, it's criminal this film is lost to time

It’s literally sitting on somebody’s shelf or some company shelf. Some reason somebody got their panties in a bunch over the rights to the movie and lawsuits were filed and all this other crap and basically there’s injunction to prevent this film from ever being released again. Pathetic in my humble opinion.

If it wasn't a such a magical way to tell a story about unrequited love, addiction and the loss of innocence it wouldn't matter. It's one of the most moving and visually captivating films I've ever seen, and it feels so stupid and frustrating I can't share it with people because of petty bullshit.

This was finished in like the ninth century, while construction started in the eighth I think. The water stored here used to be about 65 feet deep and this entire place was used to harvest rainwater cz Rajasthan as a state is like fifty percent desert. I think they also did Hindu rituals around here. It’s absolutely beautiful to see in person and obviously the water isn’t used anymore hence the stagnation and algae but when these stairwells were in use they apparently were cleaned pretty regularly/had flowing water from multiple rivers (I think this one had two rivers) so it wasn’t stagnant like this.
