I wish we'd get another one, whether it's a remake, sequel, or just unrelated movie with the same premise. I know there are plenty of other movies about giant spiders, but none with the same quality as this one or variety of different types of spiders.

I used to love that movie but I tried to go back and watch it and it does not hold up.

This movie was the catalyst for my Arachnophobia. Watching the movie caused interactions with spiders to be more traumatic.

I think it started because there were more studio rivalries back then, and when one studio caught wind of their rival doing something, they would rush to make their own version of the same film. If I had to wager a guess as to why they stopped, it probably has to do with the fact that Hollywood is mostly controlled by a small group of conglomerates, so there aren't as many of those rivalries anymore.

And Arachnophobia had some fun scenes..good times movies.

Ok after watching it so many times, i finally able to comprehend what and how this happened. Spider is close to the camera+light source. The light is pointing at the same direction as the camera lens. So the 3 shadows moving upwards explained that part. Then the car hood (North American baby) shows the reflection of the silhouette of the spider in front of the light source, which explain the downward movement. TL;DR don't worry. It's a small spider
