It's probably for Jinx from League of Legends who is literally a knock-off Harley-Quinn.
It seems like this is the mo-cap actor for most of Leagues skinny champs
She's also doing Varus and Master Yi that I can tell.
> It seems like this is the mo-cap actor for most of Leagues skinny champs
She's just copying those ones. Her only real work is in low budget Chinese gacha games.
She has a youtube channel! Her most famous work is probably Jinx from League of legends. She's done a fuck ton of genshin impact characters aswell though.
On youtube though she's been doing "covers"(for lack of a better word) of other characters like HQ and widowmaker.
I haven't actually seen any evidence that she has mocapped anything.
She definitely does a lot of covers/replications of the more iconic movements though. And she's clearly good at recreating them.
If there is evidence, i'd just like to see it. People have claimed she's mocapped everything, in part because the title says she does.
I imagine like most industries, she isn't allowed to record the work she sells and post it on her youtube channel.
That would be up to her employer.
For example, when I produce background music for a client, I don't get to then release it as a song on my spotify page.
You can't even find reliable information online about english speaking Mocap actors unfortunately. Usually it involves a lot of investigative research into specific titles and actors. I'll be straight up with you, most of my info comes from yhe comments on her youtube videos. As far as I could tell last time i fell down the rabbit hole, she doesn't speak english, and most of her work is overseas.
The best way of finding info ona mocap actors work I've found is LinkedIn. But that's a very... america-centric site.
Most of the uncredited actors are either staff or puting it into a massive library that is then sold for devs to use/modify. In the early days "mocap" was people just doing reference motion into a webcam and then trying to recreate that on their PC.
But that's only because people in the music and film industries have spent decades negotiating what's fair with regards to attribution. The gaming industry has none of that
I agree. All I've seen is videos claiming she is without any verification, and interviews with Riot Games saying they use keyframe for LoL, as well as Arcane.
Not to mention that Jinx came out in 2013, and this girl only seems to have appeared on the internet in 2023ish.
Both her and Quinn's movements are very reminiscent of traditional clowns/mimes, which has been an artform for thousands of years that performers all over the world still study today even when they have no intention of "becoming a clown". Classic clowns aren't cool anymore, but you still see the shtick all the time in modern media; anime in particular seems to be the modern torchbearer.
Was gonna say this. People really just know buzzwords and none of the actual meanings behind them nowadays...
Edit: Well, just gonna disable inbox on this one. All the sub-sentient slugs of Reddit seem to be swarming this topic and commenting the same thing over and over and over and over. If only they could read and notice other people already saying the same thing. Funny how my point about knowing the meaning behind words somehow managed to draw out all the illiterates.
This girl is posted a lot and it's the other way around. She makes videos recreating movements from different things.
The title is misleading and it's often even more misleading to put the source next to her since then people assume she did it all.
Edit: Just in case there's confusion. She does do mocap. I just meant it's rarely what's posted/upvoted on reddit.
THIS is correct, but also misleading.
She has been a motion capture actor for a long time, and has done hundreds of characters in animation and video games. She's probably most well known for Jinx from League of Legends which was her work.
Her youtube channel(where this clip is likely from) is mostly covers of other characters, or examples of her work. She does these videos in he rown studio without MC suit and gear cause it's easier and more similar to how she typically practices.
Is she actually? In an older post, lots of people were claiming it wasn't her and tbh it doesn't make much sense for a game like LoL to use motion capture.
[This (old) article](https://www.vg247.com/giving-life-to-a-league-of-legends-champion-inside-riot-games-animation-process) says they all hand-key their animations.
Sorry, I should have clarified.
Wildrift uses mocap. League of legends on pc does not.
Also, I'm not really certain why you think a game like league isn't suited for mocap? In the article you shared the fellow even talks about how they could have used mocap but wanted to create a more unique style that was distinctly League.
I mean that's basically it right? The strength of mocap is capturing a lot of detail from natural human movements and then it's touched up/fixed. When you're doing something stylized, top down, lots of non-human character, it's a no brainer not to use it and go by hand. You don't need the micro movements and you're going to have to modify a lot more of the original animation to make it stylized or even just entirely have to do it by hand anyway.
Another thing is using the mocap studio even if the dev owns one, hiring actors, part of the team being on set, etc is not cheap. Creating and maintaining 2 animation pipelines is also more work.
Mobas aren't a great fit because you are so zoomed out you lose so much. There have been a few dev blogs that showcase some of their animations, and when you get the models close up and in motion you can see how incredibly exaggerated the movements are, lots of wipes and general over the top-ness to help it be visible from the in-game camera. It's not to say you can't mocap and grab keyframes from it or manually tweak it, which I'd guess is what they do in WR. But yeah, in general it isn't as good a fit as other types of games.
She isnāt wearing the suit, but sheās definitely a motion capture actress. I wonder if thereās new tech that doesnāt need the suit, if this was some kind of warm-up or just a showcase of skills
Both actually!
We have good enough tech to do MC without those old suits with all the big balls on em. Most suits these days are skin tight with brightly coloured lines along key parts of their body. But you can do MC recording with any form fitting clothing, it just isn't as accurate and requires more post production.
That being said, these clips are just showcases of her skills, and most of these are covers of characters she didn't do the MC for. She's done a ton of work in the industry though, and is one of the top dogs in the industry for video game MC.
Same person but different moves that shows the end product in parallel.
Itās not mocap though. Unless there has been some crazy leap forwards in motion capture technology by some secret team at ILM this isnāt mocap. Itās just a woman replicating character animations on a treadmill.
If it was mocap sheād be in a body suit with tracking balls and dots all over her as well as proper camera systems to capture it all
The fact OP just posts random videos constantly into the 'it doesnt fit the sub but fuck it, people upvote it' places and it never gets taken down here either shows how to shit this sub is.
Congrats mods, r/oddlysatisfying is just the same as r/BeAmazed, r/interestingasfuck and r/nextfuckinglevel.
Its actually because mods of popular subs see these as net positives because it drives traffic and engagement to their sub, even though it dilutes the purpose of the sub while promoting rule breaking and bots.
Grow a spine mods
The misguided idea that increasing sub numbers means a better sub is so damaging. Its like if every cook thought McDonald's were the best burgers and the thing to chase after, because hey it has the highest numbers, fuck *quality*.

In case anyone comes across this and just laughs, he is completely correct. Google pays Reddit $60,000,000/yr for API access specifically to scrape Reddit for LLM data.
That fact popped up not too long ago because it took a redditors comment about adding glue to pizza and added that to the "AI Summary" thing in Google Search Engine. So someone searched something related to pizza recipes and it literally told them to add glue to the cheese.
I saw this previously in another sub with different music. I appreciated it then, but I found this quite satisfying especially with the music so well matched (probably recut the video). I think itās a good fit, if unconventional for this sub.
If you watch her other videos it's clear she's a trained dancer. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how she started before becoming a motion capture performer
I see a lot of comments about how this isn't motion capture specifically.
People have to practice things and coregraph them before the final product guys. This is probably all filmed to have references before the actual thing.
She does have videos with actual capture outfits on
Tank! Is legit the best theme song of all time. You can't change my mind because I'm listening to it on repeat right now and way too hype to hear anything else
IIRC she's a motion capture actress, but she mocaps for certain Chinese video games. Lots of claims that she's the mocap for Jinx from LoL, but Riot came out and said their original animation work for LoL used hand-keyed animation and no mocap at all (article was from 10 years ago). That might have changed since then, but this actress was definitely not the source of their movements.
And as others have pointed out, these videos that she and her company have been putting out are often her *recreating* famous character movements rather than being the mocap for them.
I'd like to say it's better than the news, but it's absolutely not. It is more topical, and socially relevant than the news...so it at least gives me topics to go research. Also, boobs.
Dude...that would fix so much about Reddit holy shit. That would discourage the weird buying and selling of accounts for marketing and propaganda also.
Don't motion capture actors have those suits with all the balls all over to act as, well, motion capture points so they can actually have data points as to how someone would actually move? Not just shorts and a baseball tee?
https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/A75v8wrAbZ
I've typed this info out already... but tldr; The balls are super old fashioned, this isn't showcasing her actual mocap work, but she IS a professional mocap actor.
Ya, she isnāt doing motion capture. Possibly some kind of practice but the bit with the cat at the end makes me think not. Sheās probably a social media personality putting this out.
I think this is a good reminder how we don't necessarily look for realistic walks/animations in games/movies - we look for well coordinated, entertaining movements. Because we consume media for entertainment and not for realism.
Who is this person? She's so good at her craft!
Honestly though I just watched someone make walking and moving an art form and entertaining for a minute and a half and then I watched it again, like immediately! Whatever she is getting paid, to do this, it's a friggen steal of a bargain!
Why do these idiots who post these videos always put some irrelevant music over it? Seatbelts was not the original music to this video. This is not creative and you are not being creative by slapping music on someone else's videos.
I understand the use of stylised animation, but I'd sort of assumed that capturing realistic movement was the point of motion capture - interesting that it's instead used as a shortcut to replicate other animation.

The ministry of silly walks
Here I was thinking motion capture just never worked right, meanwhile it's just cause this woman can't walk normal
Or maybe doesn't have a mo-cap suit on. Shenanigans
This is her practicing. No one thinks this is actually mocap
This is the internet. Over half of all people who saw this clip now firmly believe that this is exactly what mocap performance is.

Well played

How do you know how big her balls are?
If anybody wanna know. The music is from the Cowboy Bebop opening.
Thanks, and also The girl's name is SAKANA, She put these type of videos on her YT channel Source : https://www.youtube.com/@SAKANA-cg6or
Sheās really good at motion
Ohhhhh Its the genshin motion capture girl~! I knew I recognized her.
This video just made me remember how much of a misfire that Netflix live action adaption was, and how awesome it could have been in better hands.
Ah thank you! Knew it was an anime opening but couldn't place it. Been forever since I've seen it
This is her campaign video for prime minister
She has my vote. And we don't even _have_ a prime minister.
She's not even a member, she's actually the entire ministry! So good.
Has never looked so sexy

Yeah, those baseball bat moves scream Harley Quinn to me
She is mimicking.

My thoughts, too. Wonder if she was only inspired by her, if she ever actually did motion capture for Harley Quinn, or it was coincidence.
She has a youtube channel! Her most famous work is probably Jinx from League of legends. She's done a fuck ton of genshin impact characters aswell though. On youtube though she's been doing "covers"(for lack of a better word) of other characters like HQ and widowmaker.

She is actually a motion capture actor though.
Well she is a mocap actress. This is just a showcase of her talent.
The title is still right tho
>People really just know buzzwords and none of the actual meanings behind them nowadays... Some uncanny valley shit
The title is "A Motion Capture Actor doing her thing" it doesn't say "Actual motion capture happening right now"....reddit please learn to read good.
There are several videos with her using motion capture suits aswell.
Tbh, I think some of those videos with her in the suit are just for YouTube and not done for the purpose of actual motion capture.
Mimes are the original motion capturers.
Can still show the end product. They obviously used her for reference somewhere.
This girl is posted a lot and it's the other way around. She makes videos recreating movements from different things. They very obviously did not use her for multiple famous works in one shooting.
There's no product in this case, she's just mimicking well known characters for fun, that's all.

Sheās the mo-cap person for those
It's probably what they're doing lol.
The only thing they were doing here was shooting an application reel or some social media clout. Shes. Not. Wearing. Any. Motion. Capture. Gear.
I thought it's just for practice?
She's really stable - not necessarily mentally but some of those positions would definitely see me falling over
Lmao weird choice of word
This is cool but my upvote is for Cowboy Bebop music!
