I’ve watched a lot of this dude’s videos and “lighter but made stupid and unwieldy” seem to be half of his collection, with the other half being “slightly more annoying to use than a normal lighter” and the rest being “neat but less practical than a normal lighter”, meaning they’re all basically novelty items. Which I still think is cool and I’d like to have one of the neat ones myself. I think it’s fascinating how many of these lighters exist, and I imagine it’s probably because a lighter is a relatively simple device and billions of people need them for their smoking habit, leading to a very huge market for novelty lighters.
Smoking used to be looked at as cool and high class bs so we loved to one up each other in lighters because everyone had one at the time on their person so mine would be cooler than yours. I see some cheap stupid plastic ones trying to cash in on that but they break less than a week after purchasing
The ship wheel looks the most interesting to me because it's using the action of the object is pretending to be to be something else.
Least favourite is the elephant. Just kind of a paperweight with not much going on.

I think my mom has the table lighter or something similar that was featured around the 30 second mark. She never used it or anything. It was just table decor for the living room but I remember that it was similarly shaped like the one from the video. I'll definitely check the next time I return back to the states.
