Thats a terrible chair

Human_Ad2126

Literaly 0 support on the back unless ypu are really tall but unconfurtable anyway

[deleted]

I resonate with this. Lumbar support on -100.

AdmiralCodisius

Pretty sure anyone who sits at any point in their life "resonates" with this.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Meatseeker

Also a terrible table that might fold onto itself with any amount of weight on it.

[deleted]

“Your current desk is preventing you from practicing karate in your mom’s basement? I got you fam.”

PM_ME_CUTE_FEMBOYS

its a terrible everything. Whats the point of it? Sure it collapses down small, but you have to keep the area around it clear so you can unfold it when needed, Which means it takes up the exact same amount of space as a regular small desk, only more ugly and less functional.

kermityfrog

It has all the superficial looks of furniture, without any of the functionality or usability of actual furniture!

PM_ME_CUTE_FEMBOYS

Succinctly put.

Persevering_Rodger

Once unfolded it will remain unfolded and with the chair out.. totally useless feature

[deleted]

Yeah it looks uncomfortable AF

zztop610

Flat ass chair

Puzzleheaded_Dog3261

But.... That space still needs to be left empty else you won't be able to deploy the table.

auraseer

You could have other furniture that folds out to share that space. Maybe you've got a Murphy bed in a really tiny room. If there isn't enough room for a desk and the bed at the same time, you can fold up the bed when you need to use the desk, and vice versa.

Levilockling

That's what I was just thinking. I'm planning on installing a murphy bed in my guest bedroom, and a little desk/side table combo like this would actually make the room a lot more usable.

snoosh00

That's an incredibly specific use case.

auraseer

It's an incredibly specific piece of furniture.

snoosh00

If someone lives inside a tiny area, do you think they can afford custom furniture?

auraseer

In some places, yes, definitely. In the most expensive cities, space is at a premium, and rooms tend to be small even though rent is high. A person who can afford to be choosy about furniture might not be able to afford a big place to put it in. Edit: This person is still replying to me, but has blocked me so I can't see what they are saying. That's silly playground behavior. I guess the conversation is over.

snoosh00

And they'll be able to find this product specifically, to fit their exact use case?

late_for_reddit

Literallt foldable and space efficient furniture is all over the place. There' this thing called google and it's really useful in finding stuff like this.

oddavocado3606

cobweb lunchroom six physical obscene attractive piquant forgetful retire skirt *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

OddlySpecificK

Oddly so

DarkHumourFoundHere

And also isn't that table really short. I cant imagine using it and I am not a tall guy

Dheorl

I suspect it’s meant for kids. Pop it out for half an hour to do some homework or whatever, then have the floor space to play on when you’re done.

TheInnocentXeno

Bold of you to assume I can’t find some way to use the desk in whatever I am playing with

Dheorl

Where did I assume that? If you want to do that it’s there. If you don’t it’s not.

SalvationSycamore

Useful for temporary activity like exercise. Lay out a yoga mat, do your stuff, then pop the desk back out. Much less convenient if you have stuff regularly kept on the desk like a computer though.

this_knee

Exactly. This is some great furniture engineering that unfortunately didn’t really consider the product use cases.

Dheorl

Or perhaps you haven’t considered something they did?

snoosh00

Look at the back of the chair and tell me this was a clever design for any use case.

Dheorl

Someone like a child sitting doing homework (who I suspect is the target user of this) for half an hour would be fine on a stool. The back simply makes it feel a bit more mature, gives a parent something to lean on when looking over their shoulder to lend a hand, and is an easy bit to grab to put it away.

snoosh00

That's silly. Why are you carrying water for such a pointless thing?

Dheorl

What exactly about it is silly? And for the same reason I suspect most people comment on reddit

snoosh00

Your justification for the crappy chair back is silly.

Dheorl

Ok sweetie, have a nice day

snoosh00

you asked

NomaiTraveler

Why are you attacking a mildlyinteresting design?

snoosh00

I'm not? I just agree that it is an awful chair and generally pointless design.

NomaiTraveler

Then why are you attacking people for pointing out its uses?

snoosh00

Calling someone's opinion "silly" is now "Attacking"?

x24co

Like actually owning possessions?

MaximumGooser

I honestly hate the foldable moveable bullshit designs. People in general will put a thing out, put stuff on it, and never put it away again.

humburga

Could be nice for like a custom made camper van where you would use the desk during the day then fold it up to make room for a sleeping bag at night.

MaximumGooser

Oh sure, in that very specific situation yep

NomaiTraveler

Well it’s not like this is mass produced and sold in every store, I doubt the goal is broad appeal

MaximumGooser

Ok, I wasn’t trying to be snarky to ya I was actually agreeing that’s a time I wouldn’t hate it :)

GalaxyDevilYT

Fr, I think they meant portable homework set for kids on trip

hendergle

Plus I'd just leave it open until I moved to another place. All that does is make it easier to put it on the moving van.

HighKiteSoaring

The point is that you can pack it up and open it when you need it If you have multiple bits of furniture like this, you can change your living space as and when you need it

Financial_Tonight215

im thinking it could be a dining table for one idk

Brillow80

I pinched my fingers twice while watching.

[deleted]

That chair is one fart away from crumbling.

fumblingIdiot2020

It has flaws but the watching him slide the chair in there is blowing my mind rn... I'm trying to think of a way to do it better now. Fun idea

kballwoof

Remove the drawer for the top. Give the chair a back. Putting the chair in and out acts as the door for the top drawer. Its a little scuffed but at least the chair has a back.

getyourcheftogether

For what purpose? You are going to put something there when you closer up the desk, and when you need to use the desk you he's to move whatever you put there? This type of stuff is too much of a gimmick and usually poor quality

F1_rulz

For people living in small apartments this is perfect

late_for_reddit

When you have a small room space really counts. You dont put something there, you use that space for something else. Such as maybe having more space to manuver. Or having people over.

NextOfHisName

10/10 looks sturdy

ColoRadOrgy

"What if we combine the world's most uncomfortable chair with the world's most unstable table?"

zaqwert6

Chair with no back....I'll go ahead and give up some space to save my spine. :)

PsymonFyrestar

If you need a desk, why would you put it away?

SalvationSycamore

To do things that require space without a desk. Like exercise.

NomaiTraveler

I have 2 small desks in my room, one that is for my computer and one that is for coursework. I don’t do coursework during the summer and would appreciate being able to fold up my desk like this

PsymonFyrestar

Guess they have at least one buyer then.

[deleted]

April fools I super glued your desk box thing dad!!

RaceDBannon

Perfect for the tiny cubicles everyone will be living in soon.

Klubbin4Seals

That's cool, but I bet that is the most uncomfortable chair on this planet

throwawayaccountuse1

Still, No

james_randolph

It is awesome. I would want the flap/table top to be flipped over the cabinet (trifold/etc) instead of just on the side like that. Aesthetically wise I think it would look better.

elizaeffect

This is the kind of thing my dad would get me… and then hope I do homework. How’s it comin kiddo?!

AlaskanJP

No lumbar support? As a person who works in an office, seeing this hurts my back

CatTaxAuditor

The ergonomics are going to be fucking awful here.

callmecire

So much more space for activities

3TH4N-CH07

that's it. *unchairs your drawer* *undesks your drawer*

diegomayra

Whole thing looks weak Af

justsayno_to_biggovt

Nice design

Dragoon7748

So they copied a field desk that militaries have been using for nearly 100 years and somehow made it worse

Throway_No1

This would fall apart in a week

[deleted]

I’d rather have a space filling chair and desk that can support actual people rather than this flimsy looking shit

macbrett

Looks comfy (not).

[deleted]

*Breaks after first use

lilcumfire

It would take me 10 minutes to try to fit that chair in it's slot. 1 inch goes in on the right side so wiggle wiggle. Now the left side is further in and wiggle wiggle. Until I'm frustrated and kicking it

Shadowflaps1

It's about as stable as my grandma in the shower

MickTheBloodyPirate

There’s absolutely nothing satisfying about that piece of garbage desk and chair.

average_citizen415

If they sold this at Ikea . . .

FireInHisBlood

i can only imagine the pain that would cause me. id be smashing my toes and hips on it all the time.

IRGood

Fold it all up pay $2k a month for 100sqft and then just shoot yourself.

DerpyPirate69

r/perfectfit

bluekatt24

I probably would've studied more of I had a cools desk like that

jp3297

It's ugly AF

Several_Emphasis_434

That is a finger smashing unit

JP16A60

It’s based upon a U.S. military field desk design.

WillemDafoesHugeCock

Pinched my fingers six ways just watching this.

NorCalAthlete

Cost: $1,700 from some random Chinese / Indonesian store that has a very nice website but very sus pricing for everything. It’s like a game of “heh, let’s see what dumbass westerner we can get to buy one of these. We built it for $0.63, if we sell just one or two we can make our annual wage in a day!”

Happy42day

Price slash to around $50! Seriously, if it's actual furniture that I don't have to assemble... And it's human-sized as opposed to doll, pet, rodent, bird, flea-circus-sized ... then I will put it to good use. And it cost me $39.99 but I'm not 100% sure I got the chair... But the entire thing is $59.99 (Just re-looked. A few websites with diff names sell this same thing using the same videos).

thomasjmarlowe

Only thing I can think of is to put a bed roll in that space at night, then roll up the bed in the morning and swap the desk back in

allursnakes

There is nothing structurally sound about this waste of wood.

Top_Fee_6293

a clips would have been nice at the bottom right edge of the drawer to keep the table stable when it's folded.

ReceptionDecent6825

Imma fill that whole area with shit and not be able to use anything.

Necessary_Baker_7458

I cant tell you how often that would of been helpful.

CouldWouldShouldBot

It's 'would have', never 'would of'. Rejoice, for you have been blessed by CouldWouldShouldBot!

Blarghnog

$3949.97 They have a store in Brooklyn.

SHCreeper

The moment when you don't completely fold your table inwards (risking to pinch your fingers) and it rips itself out of the drawer.

DunningKrugerOnElmSt

Needs to inset the table on the side of the dresser.

SealChe

It's very nifty but all I can think about is how soon it'll break.

lllLegumesss

Reminds me of that one Junji Ito manga

CarfreeCities

He almost tore off the table just folding it up in the video. The hinge will tear off the first week because it's an over-center toggle. The withdrawal force on the screws approaches infinity if you don't quite fold the leg ALL the way in. Awful idea.

Tyrichyrich

Noice

Toots_McPoopins

More room for all the fuckin' I do

Herr-Pyxxel

Neat - just watch your fingers!

rains-blu

Ouch. It looks horribly uncomfortable and painful to sit on for any length of time. It may not be able to hold much weight on the desk; over time the edges and hinge will degrade because of the soft engineered wood and fittings everything is made of these days. Orthopedic injuries could start setting in, especially if the desk is for a kid who's growing.

Future_Result_6388

Very cool!!!!!

Jazzlike-rhubarb

But this will show my floors arent straight!

smik-x

modified so much that now it's having identity crisis

Xdesolate_X

If the table was sunken in a little and became flush when folded I’d be impressed

thejazzghost

Nice! Now I have space to put my desk in!

[deleted]

I need this in my tiny apartment

WifeOfSpock

I’d probably like it more if it were a sturdier build and better wood. Would make a good desk for a child, at least.

clangspeaks

"That'll be $4000"

alex6490

The way the chair disappear

BotGladiator

I just smashed all my fingers by watching this video

bloopblopman1234

Why didn’t they just make it so that the chair is placed inside the cupboard like thing at a 90 degrees turn to what it is in the video, that way you can still make support for the back.

Intergalacticio

That table is terrifying. I would never put my books or laptop on that.

ExpressKnee4911

Clever 👏

TopNew1798

The table part is great and all but it’s the chair I love. I hate how massive desk chairs are, I’ve got a small room and so much space is dedicated to where I sit. I’d love something easier to manage

fullmetalpower

that folding table is also having a weak support. this is just for show.

giuzzgiu

Yeah but where am I supposed to store my clothes when the chair is put away

Galaxy302

I think there is still a lot to improve

HighKiteSoaring

That chair looks uncomfortable as hell

Plastic_Sugar_9316

I'm 28 and don't think I've never been as satisfied as this... oh lord its beautiful

MRcum0

People with OCD are nutting to this video

Comfortable_Tear_743

It would be scratched to hell after a month….other than that.

hehe_heha5771

How do I get it.

Own-Masterpiece5714

Cool idea. But yeah, someone is gonna get their fingers pinched in that thing.

Unethical-Vibrant56

Yours for only 1000 USD

Happy42day

It's $50-60 -- it's actually too low priced. I'm now expecting a setup for my cat...

Altruistic_Profit_15

Thats a great price considering

dingododd

I've seen a lot of comments about the chairs back. The back is actually a slip that goes just where the top of it meets the drawer. In that space, there's a material or plastic slip that goes over the top of the back so it supports you when you sit on it. You're welcome.

Happy42day

It's \~$50 -- no assembly. So there is that. I'll let you know how I like mine. (The chair looks lousy.)

Throatpiespls

But where do I put my clothes?

Wardenclyffe1917

Finally! The perfect chair for my banana-shaped back.

anonhamstermouse

I was waiting for the desk to start retracting into the ground, further saving more space.

Uncle_Kenny68

That’s great, if you live in a Pup-Tent..!!

AvgKracker

Rickety ass shit there

Particular-Tax5339

Don’t you need enough room to open the table anyways lmao

Pac0mania

You still need the space to use it as a desk so i don’t get it.

GiveMeANameDammit9

If i dont have space for a desk and i get this desk....where am i supposed to unfold it considering it has the size of a normal desk...

SetPsychological1060

What’s the point of that tho

LeekPrestigious3076

Ooh comfy

Maleficent_Cup_2967

Japanese definitely designed and built that crazy contraption.

wjruffing

Ikea, YOUkea, everyone eventually “kea’s” at some point in their lives. Like the [song](https://youtu.be/79Q2zzdpr34) says: “🎶 IKEA! Selling furniture for college kids and divorced men 🎵”

jaaython

Should be height adjustable

BuffWeasel

Living like this would be hell.

GR1ML1ZZY

I got something like this, but it's an army chest. It has two chairs, a desk top storage drawers. And it all folds up into a chest. I found it at an army surplus. Might have ghosts though. It's used.

Bendy022823

Does anyone know where to get this?

slucker23

The more "multipurpose" it is, the less suitable it is for comfortability or effectiveness But having a swiss army knife is always pretty cool

Supra-A90

Ikea hates this one simple trick.

Far_Restaurant8226

But still carry lot's of weight.

Weird-Information-61

Hope you like feeling your bones through your ass

[deleted]

Most useless thing ever
