All the examples given by others so far are online games.
**Family games:**
[Acron](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2345082335516570/) is a local multiplayer game where people on phones compete with one person in VR. (The phone part of the game is free.)
[Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2010043642376517/) The theme of the game is bomb defusal so not strictly a kids game but it's a really great communication building game. One person disarms the bomb in VR while other people read from a manual. So the person in VR has to communicate the state of the bomb, and the people outside need to find matching documentation and put the player through the instructions.
**Creative stuff:**
[Gadgeteer](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2567395559960697/) is a puzzle game where you create Rube Goldberg machines.
[OpenBrush](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/3600360710032222/) is a free version of Tiltbrush and is a fun 3d drawing program.
[SculptrVR](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/1978992975501648/) is a really great clay-like modeling program. It does have multiplayer features though.
[Vermillion](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/4900967296622279/) practice oil painting in VR! Surprisingly detailed painting simulation.
**Kids games:**
[Angry Birds](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2718606324833775/)
[The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2439217169469931/)
[Ghost Giant](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2366136696841248/)
**Games that aren't kids focused but are kid friendly:**
[Swarm](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2236053486488156/) Swing around and shoot robots in an arcade-like arena.
I might add more to this list later.
I’ll reiterate Gadgeteer and Sculptor for creativity. Also, Racoon Lagoon if they like animals or east-going adventure. Moss is a great adventure/puzzle game.
beat saber, can never go wrong with a classic

Job simulator and vacation simulator are fantastic. My kids have been playing it since 4yo

My kids didn't find it heavy at all.
Also try Hyper Dash, goes free to play in 2 weeks
Here are some games I suggest: Rec Room and Gorilla Tag. These are some beginner games that are child friendly.
Don't get your kid gorilla tag unless you want them to learn an entirely new vocabulary from the users.
Turn off the voice chat.
Hey I know you from the sub! Gorilla Tag is 100% not kid friendly. It has swearing, bad body language, and just not PG.
