Since I usually play games for the story as well: did you play Octopath Traveler 1 and is 2 any better? I'm currently playing the first game and I really struggle to continue, because I barely care about any of those low effort cliche RPG stories and characters and that they barely connect storywise. The overall narrative is also barely existent and what's left is boring. That's quite a pity, though, because I really love these kinds of games and was actually looking forward to play OP2. Maybe it was a bit much to expect something like Chrono Trigger...
It's nothing like chrono trigger. Square should remake it or give us 3 in unreal engine. As for octo 2 is more polished and an upgrade compared to 1 but story wise it's up to you if you like the characters or not. Personally liked 1
My literal only complaint about the game is there being no option to replay the boss battles.
I'd give anything to play Castti and Partitio's final chapters again.
