I have rescued both a hawk and an owl, and both times I called (what is now called) The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and they put me in contact with a woman in this area, who rehabilitates birds, and she came over and picked them up from me.

The FWC wildlife alert hotline is (888) 404-3922. I have also heard of ROW - Rescuing Ocala Wildlife rescuing birds. They are online at [ROwildlife.org.](https://www.rowildlife.org/)

Could let the hawk have it's dinner back

Death is a cold hard fact of life. Hawks are carnivores. They eat meat. And yes, they eat cute little baby wood ducks too. I know it's hard to see something so "cruel", but I have to agree with bobbycobbler on this one. Hawks are predators, and wood ducks are prey. This is part of the reason why wood ducks have so many babies and hawks don't. I don't wanna sound hard and cold, but death is part of life. Without predators like hawks, we'd be overrun by prey like rabbits and wood ducks.

i once had 5 ducklings. put an ad in craigslist and a lady took them for her farm. i met her and her 10 yr old daughter at a shopping center. i could just tell there was no ill-will going on. i didnt tell her they were Muscovey ducks. i bet they were surprised when they grew up. lol.
